  1. Camera adds 10 pounds bro.
  2. The tweet said nothing about "being proud to stand for the anthem." It said "...respecting the FLAG".....now normally, there's not much distinction. But when the tweet tags Donald Trump and intentionally parrots his words, it makes it into a political statement and it misrepresents that each individual member in the team condones that political statement. It's extremely disingenuous of the team's social media to do that. This in addition to a large number of professional athletes trying again and again to clarify that the protest is not about the flag or the military, despite that being the direction a lot of opposing voices want to take it. I'm sure the softball players did not want this tweet to misrepresent where they stand on the issue.
  3. With the abbreviated draft, every team in the country is experiencing a massive roster crunch. We did not lose as many non seniors to the pros as we normally would've... So now Pierce has to have tough conversations and trim the roster. I suspect Fields was one of those cases
  4. 956 represent!
  5. T-shirt fan here. For about 20 years now (since I was 10 and understood enough to pick my own teams). I love the Eyes of Texas, and to me it means that as representatives of the university (for y'all) and state of Texas (for mere tshirt fans like me), we are expected to go out and be leaders and change the world; to make the university and state proud to count us as one of their own. I hope that progressive conversations are had and that it is decided that the Eyes have greater meaning now than they had at it's origin. However, if they decide to scrap the Eyes, then fuck it! It's a fucking song! I guarantee that if none of you had ever sung they Eyes, your college or Texas experience wouldn't have changed one fucking bit. A song doesn't make the University what it is. The people of the University make it what it is. Someone come up with a song that is just as inspirational and that represents the university and state without having a racist history behind it. I try to make it to at least one game a year, which has gotten harder and more expensive as I move further away (Texas --> Cali --> Florida --> Overseas --> Overseas, now in Japan). I don't spend $1-2 thousand dollars to go to the game just to sing a fucking song at the end of the game. I go to spend quality time with my parents and brothers, cheering on representatives of this great school that wear Texas across their chest, and hopefully cheering them on to a victory. As much as I love the song, I couldn't give two fucks if it gets sung at the end of the game. Whether the song is there or not, I still get to spend time with my family cheering on a team that we love. And we still get to sing Texas Fight with our horns up beside each other. These athletes are doing exactly what Texas wants them to do; they're not bleating like sheep just because they're told to at fish camp...they're standing up for what they believe in and attempting to lead an effort for change. That's leadership. For those of you saying you'll give up your seats and not support the University any more, GREAT! I'll gladly take those seats from you in order to create more lasting memories with my parents. Whether the Eyes gets sung or not. And if we ever start winning again, don't lie to yourselves; you'll be trying to buy tickets to the conference or (hopefully) national championship game just like the rest of us, whether the Eyes are sung or not.
  6. Corporate version of, "SHUT UP AND DRIBBLE"?
  7. There's almost no coaches that speak their mind on non-sporting issues during normal times...the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Pop, and even then (especially when the Spurs are losing) he get's a lot of "STICK TO SPORTS" comments from (some) fans. I think it's MORE important for white coaches to speak up during this time of unrest. These student athletes want voices to be raised, to bring/keep the issue in the public eye. They want to see who's got their back. Jordan Whittington went as far as to tweet, "There comes a time when silence is betrayal." The players appreciate having a coach who is willing to publicly address the issue and show his support of their desire to use their platform for change. If Herman didn't say anything publicly, even if he supported the team behind closed doors, I'm sure there would be grumblings from the players that he's staying safe and not putting himself out there to fight for them. Speaking publicly on an issue as volatile as this is always risky, but I think the players appreciate that he is willing to publicly take that risk in order to support them. As long as he doesn't make it about himself and uses his platform to support his players, then he should keep doing exactly what he's doing and more coaches should follow his lead.
  8. Well, if she's anything like the olds in my family, maybe she forgot her password to her twitter account, but also forgot her password to her email.....so she just made a new account. I can't tell you how many times my aunts/uncles have had to make new Facebook accounts smh
  9. But is he Big XII good? (I say that facetiously, but in all seriousness, would he be able to play in space against offenses that will likely try to isolate him in coverage?)
  10. In most workplaces, literally anybody. If a joke, in this hypothetical, makes anyone uncomfortable, even if they are not the subject of such joke, they can report a hostile work environment. Maybe not harassment per se, but anyone can report a hostile work environment for anything that makes them uncomfortable.
  11. I was really impressed with their graphics game. Well produced video. Might have to start watching more.
  12. I think we're gonna like this kid.

  14. He ran straight into the tackle, got lower than him, and ran him over on the way to the QB. Exactly what you said DL don't do anymore. How is that proving your point?
  15. Good to see him working on getting to the rim, I think that'll be an important part of his game next year.
  16. What do Ketch and Terry Price have to do with this?
  17. Judging by the amount he knows about and posts on the threads re: our softball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, non-revenue sports teams....I think you may have your wires crossed on this one.
