  1. I don't disagree. It's a bit strange that some people here are bewildered that Texas fans would have an issue with Bevo not being able to attend but then also have an issue with a suggestion that there just be a blanket rule that live mascots only attend home games. Do they matter or not? If I were just trying to be spiteful then I'd suggest that Texas institute a rule specific to dogs and men dressed like milk men.
  2. What difference does it make? Allowing live mascots presents an extra logistical issue for gameday operations to deal with. Just disallow them all. Obviously home mascots have a location and are part of standard operations at every school. So home teams have their mascots, makes perfect sense. Unless for some reason now we think it's a big deal for a team not to be able to bring their live mascot.
  3. Yep it's not a big deal. But because mascots are not a big deal Texas should just enact a policy disallowing any visiting team mascots at conference home games. That would obviously also be no big deal.
  4. True but if you're superstitious it bodes well. A week ago surly was full of predictions that there was no way Texas could score 30 points on Clemson. I mean had anyone even watched our offense the last few games? We would be lucky to get to 20. Three drives into the game we had 21.
  5. I mean yeah there's a nerdy aspect to it but there aren't many opportunities where we're a huge favorite against a Cinderella story but we're technically the visitors because we're the lower seed so we're definitely in the white uniforms. Just once it would be funny to take the field in Atlanta to that instead of the fight song. But yes I know we'll never do it.
  6. I think he's saying that his (billfromlaketravis's) opinion is that Boise State's defense is better than Arizona State's.
  7. We all already knew, but we can now officially add the above to the list of great Helobious takes.
  8. Dipshit can't even make a good college football point. Tucson should be the second orange spot.
  9. Correct, it's loaded with 5 or 6 teams that are essentially in the 20-30 range. Makes it difficult to go undefeated but doesn't present any national contenders.
  10. No it doesn't. But it has Arizona State as the 5th best team in the Big 12.
  11. Now do the list of non wild card champions.
  12. This and the two play disaster sequence for Texas are why people were underappreciating the value of the byes compared to the overall path.
  13. This is what I've been saying. The guarantee for the top 4 conference champs should be a top 8 seed, not top 4. It's too early to change anything else. Well I guess Oregon wouldn't host but they would prefer the bye. But I want to see teams traveling to the supposedly undeserving Boise State and Arizona State. Indiana at Boise State and Tennessee at Arizona State would have been awesome.
  14. My system's current output:
  15. Because the vast majority of analytical systems say Ohio State should be favored by even more over Oregon than the current point spread.
  16. We should recruit their punter. Low mileage on his leg.
  17. Um, no. In chronological order they are Bobby Layne, Duke Carlisle/James Street (depending on if you go for individual brilliance versus team results), Vince Young, Colt Mccoy.
  18. Going for ankles is how a strong runner steps through tackles, that's a terrible idea. If you want to go low your target should be between the thigh pad and the knee and wrap up the legs.
  19. The spying was dumb but they stop us there if #20 sticks with his shallow flat responsibility. He was worried about Golden crossing beyond the sticks but if he stays shallow that makes the throw to Golden almost impossible to get over him but to Golden in time to keep him in bounds.
  20. People only think Klubnik was much better than Ewers if they're Texas fans. If you were a Clemson fan you would have noticed Klubnik's mistakes, including huge mistakes in game clinching situations. Just check out the 4th and 6 where we sealed the game. Taafe blows up the crossing route because he committed immediately to it. The proper read for Klubnik there is to hit the post route which was open because their slot had two steps on our DB. That would have made the game 38-31 with an onside kick to come. But QB haters don't notice that on other teams, just their own. Kind of like Klubnik throwing up jump balls that get caught because their WRs beat our DBs makes Klubnik better than when Ewers throws up competitive balls and our WR doesn't bring it down (Wingo at 5:00 in the 3Q - he was interfered with but going up for the ball at least draws the flag if you don't catch it), or bad throws to wide open receivers where their WRs save Klubnik (Antonio Williams on the sideline first play of 4Q), when it's the other team that's just the QB making a play. When it's your team that's a bad throw omg!
  21. First round QBRs: 1. Will Howard 98.8 2. Quinn Ewers 87.5 3. Cade Klubnik 83.5 4. Riley Leonard 66.8 5. Kurtis Rourke 63.6 6. Nico Iamaleava 62.0 7. Drew Allar 56.8 8. Kevin Jennings 13.8 Reminder that there were plenty of surly posters over the last few weeks wishing we had any of the other playoff QBs.
  22. Based on Ewers's excellent checks into the Blue touchdown runs yesterday, he should probably just pick whatever play he wants and audible out of the Bundlé Savé play anytime Sarkisian calls it.

  24. For all the narrative about Texas's offensive struggles and would Texas be able to move the ball and score points, the Longhorns gained more yards than any of the other 7 teams in the first round.
