Not really. One on one with the DB's back turned and the rush closing in, he threw a catchable ball on 3rd and 8. He makes plenty terrible passes, we don't need to call good plays terrible.
Nice play by Moore. Not the hardest in the world but giving Manning confidence he can throw a ball up against zero coverage with a rush in his face is critical.
Their OL is not moving our DL at all. They've found some gaps when we're moving our DL but that's it.
And that was Lebby's 4th and 1 call. He was never on my list as a potential coach here but that was something that would have had this entire board apoplectic, and justifiably so.
That's the awareness that should be better now. Play might be doomed but you can't run away from a guy who has a free run at you when you're starting from a standstill.
That works.
Also, that is genuinely a fantastic throw by Manning compared to where he's been putting those. That right there is what Ewers was great at.
The problem is I think the rule is written so that in a passing position as soon as the ball is going forward in the hand it is considered already the beginning of a forward pass. As noted above, that wording doesn't make sense in reality because QBs can pump fake.
The tuck rule is a very old example of the problem with the rule and it still hasn't been changed. Refs got this one right and they're not the ones responsible for writing the rules.
I was wrong when I called him average and overrated a couple of weeks ago. He's not average.
Actually I should clarify here. I mean he's not average for elite level teams. He's definitely FBS average.
While you're almost certainly correct it should be noted that I "am part of" conversations on surly all the time where I have no fucking idea what lots of the posts say. I don't have an ignore list but I certainly scroll right past lots of posts by known morons.
Oh God yes please. He and Charlie Strong might be 1a and 1b, the reader may decide the order, on the list of dumbest people ever associated with Florida football.
