  1. That was a huge play at that time in the game. Good luck to the young man. Wish he would have stayed here.
  2. The other poster brought up our closing stretch of games. i replied with a screen shot of those games. I didnt bring up the schedule, specifically, only that in general it would be tougher in the SEC, thus the need to add DT transfer depth.
  3. 2024 is a more difficult schedule than 2023, that's the point we're discussing.
  4. No way Ark isnt better, KJ is gone and replaced with a Freshman AA transfer QB, he's good. No way FL worse...they have a murderers row schedule so they will come in limping, still better than WV, TCU or Bayor...who would you rather play, TCU/WV/KU or FL? Give me one of the hateful 8. At TAMU will be tough. Kentucky is a veteran team, great OL. We'll see.
  5. The SEC is/has been a better league than the B12 top to bottom since existence. To think otherwise is naive. We're positioned to do well but any casual fan knows there is more NFL talent on opposing team's roster than anything we've faced in some time. Not sure how you don't know that. Im not saying we'll struggle, but the degree of difficulty will be greater.
  6. Agreed. How this came up was in regards to DT depth. We will face considerably better OL play in the SEC, IMO, than in B12 and the need to add an experienced player at that position group with the loss of Carter to Auburn and departures of Murphy and Sweat.
  7. You are wearing orange colored glasses if you think this close to the season isnt significantly more difficult than anything we've seen the last 10 years, ranked or not.
  8. We accounted for him upthread in the DT depth post. In fact he's listed first. No one is discounting him, but we need more experience. Collins, Bledsoe and Broughton are the only returning guys with meaningful experience. Whole new level of ballgame in the SEC week in and week out. Adding a DT transfer is damn near imperative. Adding Michigan to the schedule, UGA etc.. ideally we arent relying on true Freshman in the 2 deep.
  9. Oh yeah, I had the guy Oregon got as the Juco guy.... well I guess UofH and all you can see the mistake. edit: UH = Juco
  10. DT Returning - Mitchell, Collins, Bledsoe, Broughton Incoming DT - January , Melvin Hills and Robinson(?) We need the UH DT to sign here + 1 other perhaps. We lost out on the MS Juco DT, so the Freshman are going to all have to play or we need another experienced transfer imo.
  11. Wow thats nuts. Some way to go. Any video of the troop carrier up thread to accompany the still?
  12. Coach Grubb's tweet is very odd. He might should have slept on that one for the night.
  13. Heading there in a couple weeks with a group of buddies. One of them has a house, so we should be good on local intel, but is there anything you can pass along for newb to Aspen? Believe we are skiing Snowmass 1 day and then whatever mnt has the Cloud 9 restaurant/bar the other. Eating at Catch one night. Looks like we'll be getting much better snow than you got. Family and I were at Breck for Christmas and we had similar snow to what you described, still fun though.
  14. I remember add drops at the drum, walking around that concourse with a class book. Had to walk to the arean floor to check out and pay up
  15. only who comes to mind is JT Daniels. He started for SC
  16. According to the link up thread, Bama has over $900M in Active Capital Projects. I know Texas does as well, but our "wealth" is light years ahead of theirs. I would imagine their endowment dollars are so low as they are playing catchup
  17. is it possible they poured all that cash into infrastructure, new buildings (the campus is booming) etc.. vs cash? Think of it as "new money" as opposed to cash hoarding in an endowment, which would be more old money. Just a thought.
  18. This. Saban demanded control as a condition of taking the job. He didn't say we need to put the bb's in the box, he said eff the bb's. There was one voice, one leader, one way of doing business. Saban won and so it worked. Not everyone can do that. He was/is a great leader and his "process" and framework was just what they needed. Shula, Price (its rolling baby), Dubose, Fran, none of them could do what Saban did.
  19. Good question. Its my understanding from a good friend from Southlake is the scholarship/in state deal is FR year only. That could have just been his package, but he's paying full out of state now. Also, may be grade/GPA related to hold that in-state tab. The state is trying to tap in to a more diverse worker pool to meet demands of growth in the state economic climate. Out of state tuition is nearly 3x https://1819news.com/news/item/only-38-of-university-of-alabama-freshman-enrollment-from-alabama-less-than-half-undergrad-students-in-state
  20. Out of state enrollment is appx 66%. Southlake and HP kids all over that place in the last 10 years. They pay a premium out of state. Pre-Saban, Bama was all in state kids, for the most part. All those NE students, CA, TX pay much more in tuition to be a part of the scene in T-town. Its not your old Bama. Auburn, same thing, to a degree. TX HS kids, anecdotally, cant get in to Texas. They dont want to go to College Station, cant afford TCU/SMU and Tech/Baylor is meh. They started looking at SEC schools hard and they pay a premium to out of state.
  21. Word is he just bought a house in FL, Jupiter IIRC. But yeah, doesnt mean he cant have two. Would love to see him helping the good guys. He'll make a fortune on the speaking tour. Every corporation in the country will have him, if he wants to go that route.
  22. Will they make a run at Sark?
