  1. yeah yeah whatever. My great-aunt is flying in from Sacramento at 3:30. Will there be a cold front at ABIA by then?
  2. So, I threw out an idea to my wife via text and I got this as an answer... "Okay" There's something just passive aggressive that basically "Okay" feels like "nah. Not interested" Am I the only one? Any other things you get back as responses that feel like they are loaded with meaning? Like, "Okay" would be better stated as "Sure - sounds good" or "F off with that idea" Okay (Beating you to the punch, a-holes)
  3. Way to use a relatable object to describe hail. "There have been reports in Lampasas of Mego Toy 2XL sized hailstones"
  4. I don't know how you do it - I watch the absolute idiocy when my favorite meterologists post anything online. 60% of people appreciate them and 20% ask them if it is going to rain in Sunset Valley at 3:30 during their baby reveal and 20% complain or spread conspiracy theories.
  5. To be honest, I know two Hozier songs. I can't stand one of them. But ODESZA was just a big spectacle of a show. It was highly entertaining and it was "quite a crowd" you could say. But, Kanye / Coldplay. I get it... I would think, "oh, I like some Kanye songs" and yet I could totally see him sucking. And I find Coldplay terribly boring and unoriginal. Good choice on dinner.
  6. Sometimes directions give you unintended consequences or weird results... but this isn't too bad. I reused another picture and took it the aggy direction. The more I tried to tweak it, the weirder it got so these two will do for now. Some of the other variations were very WTFish.
  7. Yeah dude, I am very pro rain dome on that stuff. F that
  8. That's cool
  9. Dude, we were ready to fight Commie Cuban Invaders and knew which gangs to fight in 1980s New York City. Can you dig it?
  10. Odesza last year was Honda stage. 8-10 Sunday night, opposite Hozier
  11. I don't want this comment to devolve into a blah blah blah not enough Austin police blah blah circle jerk... But I drove into Houston today and on one stretch of I-10 there were six speed traps. Cops pulling people over left and right. Say what you will about Austin, man. I've never seen that. I'm going to chalk that up as a positive. Not to mention that miserable smokey weather looks prettier in Austin than it does in Houston.
  12. Maybe I just don't know of anyone else in Austin playing some of their quirkier songs. You definitely hear a 60s vibe/influence, though. And, oddly enough, there's something about them that remotely reminds of me something Dead Milkmen-ish.
  13. Yeah, I watched the first set in the middle and I couldn't understand anything. Somehow moving to the side during the second set made it slightly more understandable.
  14. Shoot... when you move here there are certain things you bitch about. I bitch about the rain dome. I choose not to bitch about old Austin. Also, every time I see craziness like what's going on in north Houston, I tell my wife... "I'll take this over that any day"
  15. Glad you enjoyed it - was Ian in a good mood? Also, who was the opener?
  16. ...and is a volunteer youth coach
  17. The Austin rain dome has scarred me
  18. Yes, you definitely listen to your parents... you might want to listen to your other rando relatives... you know, two College Football Hall of Fame inductions, three SEC player of the year awards, 20 cumulative Pro Bowl selections, seven first-team All-Pro selections, five NFL MVP awards, six Super Bowl appearances, four Super Bowl victories, three Super Bowl MVP awards.
  19. Fully anticipating this instead...
  20. First, all the dumbasses (not here) who worry about Cancun or Isla when something happens in Baja. Ask them if they're cancelling their trip to Disneyland 'cause you heard about that grisly murder in St. Louis? Take it all with a grain of salt 'cause reddit but some interesting comments... From what I’ve read it’s likely it happened at Punta San Jose on Saturday night. NOT K38, where there’s service and tons of people around. Bad info doesn’t help anyone. PSJ is somewhat remote, no service 45mins down a dirt road an hour south of Ensenada/ That spot isn’t safe to camp at and is known for tweakers robbing & carjacking campers. Their last known location was San Miguel Saturday morning. Phone was found in Maneadero, which is south Ensenada and not the nicest area. The Mexican news post I saw said the woman arrested with one of their phones was caught with half a pound of meth. another person Have camped at PSJ several times. Pretty remote area at the end of a long dirt road. Live in Mexico part-time and have heard multiple first hand accounts of people getting robbed out there at gun point. Lots of tweaker & sketchy activity, nails in tires, etc. Definitely not a safe place to camp anymore and so tragic that these guys didn’t have that information. more Never ever open camp in Mexico over night, maybe at a designated gated campground like K-58 but generally it is a big no-no. You always want to stay in well travelled areas at night in Baja. Especially south of Ensenada, it's exrememly rural south of La Bufadora (Coast is 10 miles away from Highway 1 that goes to Cabo), no services only small villages. Especially at night.... I've always wanted to check the area out but it's known to be sketch any you are truly on your own if you get in trouble. Anyway, more here. Seems like quite a few people knew Calllum.
