  1. Yeah, this picks up right where season 4 left off. Down to some of the same shots.
  2. Yeah, this was great. If you haven't watched Rebels, it explains a lot. And it's a great series to boot.
  3. I was hesitant about Sabine's casting, but I think she nailed it. Not so sure about Hera.
  4. Can't say I blame him. But if he's only a 2.5 yo, I don't mind being an expert witness in your murder trial.
  5. In my experience in driving in California, it doesn't matter if you are in the best sports car in the world pushing it to the max around the curves in a mountain two lane road, there is always some asshole in a Mercedes Sprinter van or something ridiculous riding your tail and flashing their lights at you because you won't pull over to let them pass, despite there not being a place for you to pull over. But on the bright side, if you run off the road and fall down some rocky gorge without a guard rail, they will turn on their flashers for a second to thank you as long as you were quick about it.
  6. I've yet to actually do it, but I've heard that different woods can make different shades of brown. For the past two or three years I've been working on assembling a period outfit for the 1820's/30's that I wear when hunting with my muzzleloaders, so need some brain tan to make a buckskin hunting shirt.
  7. You're welcome to join us on our family land in East Texas on the weekends I am out there. It doesn't get hunted much other than me and the occasional brother in law or compadre. I don't get out there as much as I'd like to scout out where the deer are, and they aren't as thick as they are in South Texas or the Hill Country, but you can get lost in the pines looking for venison. Or if you want a 'coon skin cap, see above. I've got plenty of trash pandas. The only caveat is that if you kill a deer, we skin it extra carefully and I get to keep the skin so I can brain tan it.
  8. No mention of how they pretty much camped out in the same spot for half the season and then magically telephoned halfway to their destination? Or the path they supposedly followed? It had its good moments, but the story structure needed some serious work.
  9. Seems like ATACMS would be pretty useful in that scenario.
  10. If they can't take Mariupol before the rains hit, what are the possibilities that they can get close enough to rain terror on the land route to rain enough terror down from the skies to effectively shut off Russia' land route? Obviously that would lead to some intense fighting, but it seems like our cluster munitions have mad a huge difference in the last couple of weeks. Will the increased production across Europe and America be able to supply them with the artillery they need to lay seige on the area without actually holding it?
  11. I actually looked up what actual armorers have said in news interviews immediately after the incident, and pretty much all of them said the opposite of what's been said here as far as the actor's duty to check the weapon and where to point it, etc. That said, I don't see the purpose of charging him. Our criminal justice system should be about rehabilitation and not retaliation.
  12. I just wanted to quote this so y'all can watch it again.
  13. To get a decent range, you'd probably need to fire a solid projectile that then turns into a lot of projectiles. So you'd need to have some way of determining range and then some sort of smart fuse type system. Even an old school type punt gun probably couldn't generate enough velocity to be effective at the ranges you'd need it to.
  14. The reporter has to be smart enough to understand what happened in order to clearly report on it.
  15. Finished Rebels tonight. I always forget how dusty the room gets during the finale. Next Wednesday!
  16. What's an ass dollar and why do you seem to think mine is dirty?
  17. Maybe consider taking an extended fishing trip with her. Or give it a few weeks and take her on a trip across the country looking for doves to hunt. If she's not into being personally involved with the meat she eats, take her on a camping trip with no destination or plan. The point is, make her spend some one on one time with you where she has no alternative. Eventually she will talk because she has nothing else to do. And then when she does y'all can spend a couple more weeks having fun and tell the wife that it was tough but eventually you broke through.
  18. No clue, but as a father of three kids, just getting necessities like food (which those little shits mostly just waste), diapers, and clothes has gone up a ton. The more kids you have the more it affects you. The escape price for Target used to be about $100. Now it is at least $150. Need to upgrade to a bigger house because your family got bigger? Lol, you're screwed.
  19. There's going to be significant discontent as long as cost of living adjustments don't actually adjust for cost of living. The lower wage workers have mostly had their adjustments, but the middle class hasn't and isn't happy about having to adjust their lifestyle.
  20. Pork rinds are best bought already spiced with cajun spices. But hot sauce should be used on chicharrones de harina. I'm partial Valentina, but Cholula works as well.
  21. It's pretty sick how the state is treating her. As a tax payer, I would much rather the state admit they were wrong and pay her, not that any sort of financial compensation can make her whole again. This could be an interesting case to keep an eye on, however. I'm not up to date on what the status of cases like this are nationwide, but we as a society clearly need to flesh out exactly how fetal rights work post Dobbs.
  22. Don't worry. Someone will be posting stories about her in the wives thread before too long. And not long after that someone will be posting about your grandkids right here. All will come in due time. Just keep doing what you're doing and being a good father. Most things tend to work themselves out with enough time and patience as long as you do your part.
