  1. DAMMIT
  2. At this point in his career that seems like a good move. He's not likely to ever be much beyond an emergency starter, so he could pull a Colt and get a healthy 8-12 years in the league, decent pay and his pension. Go sell commercial real estate next.
  3. I think I was about 7 years old when that was one of the big games on the playground. I'm pretty sure I didn't really know what "queer" meant. It seemed like a generic pejorative term to me. Good for Bijan for owning it. Time to move on.
  4. Because their media does not tell them the truth. Only now, with the costs of food etc. well higher than just a few years ago are some of the dim bulbs starting to glow.
  5. Holy crap, she NAILS the Joni MItchell vibe:
  6. It's a bit like the old saying "on your deathbed, you'll never regret travel taken". In this case, "on your deathbed, you'll never regret buying that guitar".
  7. Hell, I'd rather have the gravy than the CFS.
  8. Yup. 2019 in Athens. UGA won 19-13.
  9. One game with UGA in their first 16 years of SEC football, barring a conference championship game matchup in 2026 or 2027. Ridiculous.
  10. Yeah, that seems like a blunder.
  11. Not that I am any less cynical, but it will be interesting to see the legal machinations used to get around the pardoning of a non-Federal crime. Yay!
  12. Haven't noticed too much fat, but I like fat and grease. It's chili.
  13. That is a very succinct summary of how I feel about him.
  14. Yeah, I've done similar -- brown some, but not all. I'm not sure I've ever made two "identical" batches. It's all kind of freestyle.
  15. He's a virtuoso for sure. His style may or may not work for you.
  16. That album came out when I was a kid, but I was already halfway into a lifelong obsession with popular music. I had a hand-me-down AM/FM clock radio prior to getting a proper stereo, and when I first heard that track my mind was blown. It really was a different sound than I had ever heard. Said clock radio was basically this:
  17. I wore this album out when it was released. Howard is still bringing it, it's such a great riff (two of them, actually). It cracks me up that he's still doing the horns with synth patches. Great band, though. Kimmel's show, last night:
  18. My early concert experiences had a heavy dose of April Wine as the opener, and if it wasn't April Wine, it was Max Webster or Shooting Star.
  19. You whippersnappers never experienced the interruptus of your 8-track flipping to the next track in the middle of a song. Grrr.
  20. Y'all missed one: You ain't seen nothin' 'til you're down on a mutt and then you're sure to be changin' your ways
  21. I'm all over the map. I have an in-law who doesn't eat pork, so I'll do all beef if he's game watching with me. Sometimes I do a mix of ground beef and ground pork, sometimes I do diced chuck or similar, sometimes a mix. I will say: the "no brown" method doesn't always work perfectly, but it's almost always better than browned if you're doing things like chili dogs or Frito pie.
  22. This page rocks.
  23. If you're looking for chili with a "gravy" consistency, don't brown the ground beef. I know, it's sacrilegous. Just put everything together in the pot cold and bring to temp. The meat will break down better.
  24. For a 70s AOR FM radio vibe, I submit "More Than A Feeling" by Boston, even though y'all are tired of hearing it.
