    Sly Stone - RIP

Well, damn. I could sing a half dozen of those songs right now with no prompting. Absolute hit monster.
  2. What do you have against immamac's cash flow?
  3. Probably not the right thread, so a pointer to a better one would be appreciated. I finally wrestled my wife's 2015 4Runner away from her by buying her a new vehicle. Now I want to do a little cosmetic refurb (on the 4Runner, not the wife, but . . . never mind). Mechanically, it's pretty sound, 175K miles, just a little bit of Toyota oil burn so far. Interior is great. Exterior has a couple of dents, etc. What I want to do is bondo or replace any body parts that need help and then paint the whole vehicle a different color. I am NOT looking for a show car, but I do want a good paint job. Any recs for a local (Austin) body shop that does a good job at a fair price? I'm guessing parts and paint will come in $7K-$10K but I could be off. I don't care about the investment value, the way I'm tearing myself up this might be my last car. Hey to startups.

  5. Man, I grew up watching Ozzie Smith at SS. The guy was the best fielder in the game and hit about 0.230 or so most years. Nobody gave a damn. He was the Cardinals' leader and essentially their MVP. There are all kinds of mistakes an infielder can make that don't show up in the stats.
  6. No question about it. As I remind our brethren from time to time, we should also embrace the hate.
  7. I wouldn't ordinarily laugh at the idea of a 78 YO man wearing a catheter. Then again, these are not ordinary times.
  8. Shhh! Don't give him the answer!
  9. Just exactly how fucking stupid are you? Don't answer that, you'll underestimate it.
  10. Read the story twice, you're at 38.
  11. Is that a doughnut? I think it's a doughnut.
  12. Ah. Yeah, I've seen enough. Dude can play. Beyond that, his attitude is infectious. (I won't lie, I can't wait to see how that plays out on the football field.)
  13. Can you elaborate? Is Sark cooling on the idea of him playing baseball or is this something else?
  14. Paul had plenty of his own. Here's the reunion show I flew up to see in St. Paul -- apropos of the thread, look who's on drums: What a fucking set list (spoilered for length):
  15. In this video, the autotune is just part of the package. I mean, we have a 3/4 waltz, we have the modern equivalent of a puka shell necklace, plaid pants that even Paul Westerberg thinks look stupid, and finally the falsetto. It's the Mount Rushmore of pussification.
  16. That might be top 10 worst songs I've heard in my lifetime.
  17. Yeah, that was extra special. "Study engineering" in a rural hick outpost with a lesser engineering school than the one 90 minutes farther west in a major American city. Makes all kind of sense.
  18. Damn, when I can hear the AutoTune on note #2 then we're done.
  19. Dumbass didn't realize he just needed to change it 3 times so he could rotate back to "password".
  20. I think the bigger societal shift in the early aughts was a shift towards lousy songwriting.
  21. I don't recall floor seats at the Paramount being too bad, but I'm not exactly a large person. Others may caution otherwise. It's basically a big old movie theater.
  22. Plenty. Balcony seating is steep and cramped, go for the floor. Be aware that Art Alexakis isn't exactly nimble these days due to MS, but he keeps heading out there.
  23. Markwayne Mullin (R Oklahoma) was just on CNN saying that California is not doing what it should be doing to protect citizens from illegal immigrants, so the US government had to step in. WTF happened to "states' rights"?
  24. That question presumes Trump is planning on leaving office after this term.
