  1. But that doesn’t make sense; it’s something we don’t like. That’s narrows it down to fascism or racism, and I can’t see how that’s fascism.
  2. Dismissed, 100%. I’m not a Google service for doc sawbonz. Lulz. I’m sorry my posts affected your life to that extent. These internet’s are some serious bidness. Maybe someone will quote this post so you can see my apology.
  3. I didn’t make any assertions about “my company”, or any company I work for. I recalled an interview that had ~33% of the questions referencing diversity, inclusiveness, and equitable work. Again, doc, reading comp. Its rather important. It’s not my job. He can take it or leave it, Idgaf. Post #696 and #697 covered the entirety of it, succinctly. But anyone working in or invested heavily in O&G remember when the ESG initiatives came out, remember who was no longer funding without the correct ESG score and “net zero initiatives”, and it’s easily Googleable. Maybe he’s tripped up because we were still doing affirmative action then in lieu of DEI? Or he cannot process things he reads. Who knows?
  4. Type the 5 banks I posted into Google, along with “ESG” and “O&G lending” and let me know what you find. You’re a big brained doc, you can figure it out. Or shit, spend some of that 25 milli on an assistant to Google for you? If you’ll excuse me, I have to get back to my merit based work.
  5. Jesus fuck the inability for “educated” individuals on this site to read is troubling. Or, just more bad faith arguments, whatevs. But if that’s what you got from it, I can actually understand the concern you have about the kids now.
  6. You’re mistaking head in the sand for me not giving a fuck.
  7. Who’s arguing otherwise? Only one poster has a fear his kids will be perceived in this manner. As far as anyone knows, DEI only works if you’re a pilot or supreme court justice.
  8. Are you talking about memes and Twitter or real life interactions? Do you believe living, breathing people are walking around using DEI in lieu of dropping an N-bomb in casual conversations?
  9. Idiot? That’s not nice. Especially coming from someone insinuating that this is some new issue their kids will face, knowing it’s been going on for decades and you lived thru it yourself. If you’re worried that your children will face that perception, quit pushing for racist policies. I haven’t heard anyone use DEI that way. Most of the racists around our sites still use the term Mondays.
  10. This has been happening with affirmative action for decades. Just a new name.
  11. Lots of them weren’t doing ESG and DEI movements until their lenders that fund them said they had to. Now, it’s super duper important. I’m sure it’s because they really really want to, though. Reading and magnets. How do they work?
  12. Do you know the difference between ESG and DEI? Couldn’t help but notice you’ve ignored one entirely, over several replies, even after it was specifically noted thru several of my posts. Curious. Disappointed doc.
  13. ESG as I stated, but you already knew that. Start with Barclays, BoA, Paribas, HSBC. I’d be nervous af if I gave someone 25m and they couldn’t utilize Google. I assume you gave some excellent partners.
  14. Literally Google it, or be ignorant on it, I couldn’t gaf. Conflating your 25m with large publicly traded oil co’s has got to feel like something, tho.
  15. That was ESG driven, and it was all the major lenders, and well reported. I feel like you know this and are just being a dick? I couldn’t give a single fuck if you care to believe it or not. Another item in the tremendously long list that doesn’t affect me in any appreciable way. But the memes are 🔥
  16. Rape is funny when we disagree with the person amirite?
  17. Is this a serious post? Plenty to read on it.
  18. I’ve got a lot of respect for those tug captains that run the 6x2 and 6x3 arrangements. Crazy stuff. And this time of year the Mississippi is usually nuts with all the snowmelt.
  19. Can you recall an example where having a diverse peer group helped you execute a project, and what were the benefits to the project? Can you recall a project that would have benefitted from a team that had diversity, etc etc. Same type of stuff for the equitable and inclusive. Wasn’t a big deal, I’ve worked all over the world with many different types of local content. But it was really, really heavy on their “DEI initiative”, which they had 10 different hipster looking fucks explain in short videos. I was told that going in, just didn’t think it’d make up a third of the questions. Maybe. Was already consulting for them so doubt it. Lots of them weren’t doing ESG and DEI movements until their lenders that fund them said they had to. Now, it’s super duper important. I’m sure it’s because they really really want to, though.
  20. I’ve owned horses much longer than I’ve had kids, but point taken. I’ve been talking them out of rodeo since they were toddlers, but the fancy equine sports never crossed my mind.
  21. That sucks. We fill up the bin each week, I really hope our community is doing more than 10%.
  22. Is your companies DEI program a forced program? I was asked more than one DEI related question during a fucking recorded video interview within the last year. 2 out of 5 or 6 questions. Was for one of the O&G majors.
  23. The prep, the Dr’s joke about an additional circumcision as I was counting down to night night time, and hitting on the nurses as I woke up are all I remember. Get checked guys. I did because my friend was dying of prostate cancer and we used to have lots of similar gastro issues that his doc told him were clear warnings. I also disregarded my wife’s advice and ate some enchiladas later that day. Was delicious.
  24. This is my oldest. 20 hours a week at gym (replaces school PE) and who knows how many hours at home during the week. But she excels at the competitions (1st overall ~30% of the events while podium on ALL but one event (Covid), took 1st overall at state for her group, etc)). Plenty of adversity, time management, diet/health management, and the fitness aspect is off the charts. The mental focus they have to maintain is unreal for some of the skills. It’s a good balance of team and individual accomplishments. Her passion, her goals, and when it’s no longer fun, it’s over. If grades dip at all, same. It was nice because she was good but not great at any other sports, except distance running, which she didn’t have a passion for. Maybe she can pick that one back up in high school. Now, if I could get my middle one to not love dressage, I’d be in good shape.
