  1. I second Wings and Barney Miller. Will throw in the Odd Couple.
  2. I recommend "Man on the Moon", with Jim Carrey as Andy Kaufman. I have not seen it yet, but there is a Netflix documentary on my to-watch-list called "Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond" that is a behind-the-scenes look at Carrey's efforts to play Kaufman. I don't know how to explain Carrey not getting at least an Oscar nomination for his work and can only attribute it to Hollywood not wanting to taking him seriously as an actor.
  3. Small world. Dude in the old style Astros hat and blue shirt is a buddy of mine. We had season tickets together when MMP first opened. Glad to see he's moving up in the world.
  4. This podcast has taken a turn for the worse. Two words. "Escape goat."
  5. Second on the "Atlanta Monster" podcast. I am on Episode 3 and there are some notable discrepancies between "Mindhunter" - Season 2 and the events described in the podcast by those close to the investigation; but, it is riveting and fills-in-the-blanks with great detail. Highly recommend.
  6. Anyone catch young Ned Stark as "Don't call me Elmer" Wayne Henley? That interview and the Dean Corll murders deserved so much more time. The actress that played Camille Bell should get an Emmy nod. The speech in the church after the Mayor was shouted down by community members is the high point of the season.
  7. O-H! I-O!
  8. No. That was me holding a gun to my head in Dean Treece's office. Where are we on the Aggy recruiting rollercoaster?
  9. RIP El Ced. I remember seeing him for the first time in DKR against The Woodlands. He had a long run down the home sideline that I will never, ever forget. Speed, finessin, and power. This sucks.
  10. Because they were told it means "ass to mouth"
  11. At least it's right-side up
  12. I grew up a die-hard Raider fan as a kid and Cliff Branch will always be one of my favorite players from that era. He could always be counted on to rise to the level of the game. Thank God the Oilers sucked so bad in the early 70s. Also, I never associated Branch with Stickum. I recall that was more of a Lester Hayes and Fred Biletnikoff thing. RIP, 21
  13. I have a baseball signed by Brooks Robinson that I had Cal Ripken, Jr. sign a few years later. Mickey Tettleton was sitting next to Ripken at the autograph table He took it from Ripken and pretended that he was about to sign it as well. He just grinned and handed it back.
  14. Lake. Big lake.
  15. Back from Philmont yesterday. 618 Bravo Bravo, 100+ miles altogether. Plenty to discuss and lots of pics. When I get my act together and catch up on emails at work I will post them. Had our own run-in with a bear, but it turned and ran away. From the floor of the valley (Miranda) to the top of Mount Baldy my pedometer says we did 218 floors, and 16.1 miles round-trip last Friday.
  16. F the 150 years of college football nonsense. I want to see the 50-year patch for the 1969 national championship.
  17. 28 I think I'm just going to hold off. Mariposa and the hip belt are $253.38, with is a significant discount; however, no time for shake-outs and my current pack is broken in
  18. Damnit. I've been trying to talk myself out of the Silverback for months now. Been training for Philmont with my Gregory Baltoro all year and with less than two weeks to go, I am again tempted to switch because the gossamer gear packs are so highly regarded.
  19. You can buy a kit at Home Depot or Lowes. Purchase extra grommets because it takes practice to avoid leaving sharp edges or edges that may snag your tent.
  20. My experience with tarps is that they are very stiff and don't pack as easily; however, I do use them when car camping and don't have to tote them around in a pack. I cut them to size and installed grommets on the corners. Though, the first time I did it my stakes were too big for the grommets and I didn't discover it until it was pitch black and pouring rain. duh
  21. that's probably the starter. It's cheap and easy to replace, but I've been reading that it sounds really "crinkly" unless you wash it several times beforehand.
  22. I bought the footprint for my UL3 and it isn't much thicker than the floor of the tent. I was fairly unimpressed. I'm going to add grommets to something a little more durable and see how that works. I did it this time a year ago and it was warm, but not too hot. The ticks are ready and waiting though, so you'll have to take preventive measures and check carefully.
  23. He’s going to kill his brother and apologize to him as he dies because he didn’t get to die the way he wanted to die.
