  1. If we had hired Kelly a year ago how do y'all think he would have faked a Texan accent when talking about his faaaamily?
  2. I really try to stay out of other school's business but since this is the portal thread I'll just bring up this quote from you: "Offensive improvement could come from a better running game because of better OL play and RB. OL play this year was hampered by poor conditioning and lack of development at OT. Better S&C and scheme could yield better OL play. OU brings in two top 10 backs this year to replace Kennedy Brooks. If the QB is replacement level, OU wins between 7 - 9 in the regular season. If they get Caleb back or Dillon Gabriel, OU's top ten again." So you actually did argue that OU could have an improved offense without Riley. I'm not sure why you're blaming Riley for a lack of OL development when you're retaining the same OL coach (who I know is one of the best in the business). Nor do I understand why you think Lebby will be a schematic upgrade over Lincoln fucking Riley, though you also say it doesn't matter if his OL is blowing people off the line. Which then goes back to the first point. This is some heavy copium
  3. Well certainly don't let me get in your way. Please, neg rep and continue melting down
  4. To find some context for WR portal recruiting, I went back to the top 10 transfer options (per 247's WR transfer ratings) from last year and the date they entered the portal: Arik Gilbert - January 2nd Wen'Dale Robinson - January 11th Puka Nacua - March 7th Jameson Williams - April 28th Charleston Rambo - January 5th Jake Smith - June 22nd Daylen Baldwin - June 1st Grant Calcaterra - August 18th Samori Toure - November 24th Mookie Cooper - December 23rd So, at this time last year, only 3 of the top 10 had entered the portal. Let's be a little patient here.
  5. Couple things on Marion: love the hire. Detailed those reasons earlier in the thread. But, Texas will be his 11th school in 12 years of coaching. He's ambitious and will move quickly. Sark needs to take that into account in 23 WR recruiting. It's a great WR class and major position of need for the cycle. Sark was already getting more involved in WR recruiting due to Coleman but he can't let off the breaks now. We're sure to get hit with questions about Marion leaving at signing day next year. Good news is this staff has volume recruiters to help out. Drayton's exit may have come at the perfect time.
  6. oh my god I can't believe people spent their Christmas arguing about fucking OL recruiting a week after we signed an absolutely incredible class
  7. Whaaaat Context is that he was subtweeting Bryce Anderson after he committed to A&M. Harris's twitter fits in perfectly with other Texas fan accounts in that it's obnoxious
  8. He played in 19 games, including one start and twelve appearances this year
  9. This is the case My read of it, and others can chime in, is that the player has to be enrolled at the university and participating in the athletic program in order to sign NIL deals. I don't believe that letters of intent factor in at all.
  10. Yes. It’s in the state law that all deals must go through the school.
  11. I've done some reading up on Marrion, the Pitt WR coach gaining fame for the GoGo offense. I like the idea of adding his system to our staff, but I'm not sure how that marriage with Sark would go. GoGo is based on a lot of triple option concepts and a lot of benefit comes from having your QB as a runner. Then again, it's not like Pickett put up great rushing stats. And having more 2 back sets would be really nice given our personnel. And he describes as a power running, vertical shot philosophy which matches Sark. I kind of see it this way: - Adding him for scheme benefit is a unique and big plus. You don't get that from a lot of assistants. His stuff is being copied all over football (Kliff and Riley both used it this past season). He's likely to leave for an OC job pretty quick, but I could see him coming to UT as a growth opportunity. He's taken positions to learn under offensive minds in the past - Development is a question mark but probably a plus. Every school he's been at has seen immediate and significant improvement - Recruiting is a question mark but probably a plus. Young, player's coach, went through the JUCO and homeless to P5 player to HS coach trajectory
  12. Bruh, it’s always guaranteed that some of your signees will ride pine. Half of these kids will not be major contributors. That’s how it works and that’s why you sign more. And none of the guys we signed are desperation takes.
  13. So we still have no idea what was going on last night with all the stuff about a second commit?
  14. He needs to work smarter, not harder, and get a program where he can just schedule texts to the guys every hour or so
  15. Well apparently they declined to pursue Ewers so…
  16. Ketch gets an assist on point 2 for his first round pick money tweet
  17. Personally I am beyond excited for Head Football Coach Xavier Worthy
  18. He's liking tweets. If you get trolled by that, that's on you
  19. Sorry if the takeout boxes hurt the CFS aesthetic but I was inspired (and hungry) this morning
  20. Williams, Campbell, Red, Brice, Agbo = 283.88 (currently #5) + Brooks = 289.76 (#5) + Matthews = 295.86 (#4) Personally, I decided long ago that the '22 class couldn't hurt me anymore. We've closed very well with some incredible fortune in the carousel. I'm happy with the way things have turned out and looking forward to post-NSD transfers and staff changes.
  21. So I really like J Whitt and WR is a position of need, but if he transferred do y’all think that would get rid of Carl?
