  1. I'm a 15 year lawyer and also manage my small firm. I'm dissatisfied with the current client base and need to make some changes. I get bombarded all the time with SEO and online marketing ads, calls and emails. I've invested in SEO, but it hasn't really worked. We've done some networking groups (BNI, mixers for local COCs, etc.) but those are roomfuls of sellers in my experience. What do y'all do for client generation that has been successful?
  2. Ghoul on ghoul violence. That's a shame Seinfeld.gif
  3. I said, "just about everyone." But still, point taken. There are a lot of capable government employees out there, to be sure. I'm just in a surly mood and feeling like pretty much fuck everyone and fuck everything.
  4. I never asked them to get in, get out and spend money. I'm not sure that was the prevailing sentiment among the populace, either. I guess you are right about the casualties part. Afghanistan hasn't been high on my "votes because" list in a long time, but it was a big issue when the war started and has been a political football at different times since. But just because something isn't a huge political issue of the day doesn't mean that we should make stupid foreign policy decisions. I know fuck all about foreign policy or diplomacy or any of it, but I know what my goals would have been: 1) kill every motherfucker associated with Al Qaeda and 9/11, 2) prevent a situation where 9/11 could happen again. We did that for 20 years, so okay. I personally wouldn't have minded a permanent force large enough to deter the shit that is happening right now. We have troops stationed at bases all over the world as it is. As part of the strategy from the beginning, to maybe someday be able to leave altogether, I might have considered starting a few schools and sending over a bunch of Sand Aggies and John Deeres to teach them how to dry land farm something other than poppies. But that's just me.
  5. What was the excuse for the intel failures of 9/11 and WMD? My theory is that America has lost it and just about everyone in government at every level sucks at their job.
  6. This was always the way it was going to end; a foregone conclusion. No one should be surprised or angered over the withdrawal. People wanted us out of there. The same people are now bitching because we're out. Like there was an alternative. I am a bit surprised that the administration didn't do a better job of damage control and getting the message out that this is going to happen and it's expected. Did they not know? Is our government/military/intelligence really that inept? Anyway, this is what happens when you let politics dictate policy. It was politically advantageous to do big shit in Afghanistan, and Iraq for that matter, in 2001. It wasn't smart. That's the way it is here.
  7. When and how was it ever supposed to end? The only way to suppress the Taliban was to stay forever. That couldn't happen. The problem goes back to origination. The mission in Afghanistan should have been narrower and smaller. Root out and kill everyone who was associated in any way with Al Qaeda and 9/11,then GTFO and watch from afar. We didn't have to throw all of the troops, equipment and resources at the problem to achieve that goal.
  8. Many claim this is not about intelligence, but I'm not so sure. There are plenty of indicators as to which position is objectively, logically wrong. A certain level of intelligence should be able to see them. For instance, the state is simultaneously fighting mask mandates and also taking drastic steps to fight the virus.

  10. Damn. Hard to watch all these teams loading up. Dodgers looking like a Super Team.
  11. Well, crap. I was going to ask about Brad Hand, but the Nats just traded him to the Blue Jays.
  12. Make it 5 BB. Motherfucker! To a guy hitting .112!!!
  13. Is that bad? It seems bad.
  14. Is Raley one of the guys who will be replaced by one of our new dudes?
  15. Same. I liked it even more when CU, NU, aTM and Misery were in the conference. I would have liked it even more if we had those and WV and TCU after a round of expansion. But, alas. I hate that a lot of the conversation in CFB is about a comparison of conferences. I've always thought that was dumb. The only reason it mattered at all was because of strength of schedule as a measurement for rankings or placement in the playoff. When comparison is such a huge part of determining rankings and playoff contenders, this is what you get. The reason all of this is happening is that there is no centralized power in CFB. The individual universities have all of the power. They organize in conferences, but they retain almost all of the power. The NCAA has no power. The NCAA sucks not because the people who run it are incompetent, but because the member universities have not given it any power. I mean, look at the NCAA men's basketball tournament. It's a huge success and the NCAA has done a great job with it. No reason to think they wouldn't do the same with football, if given the chance. The result of all of this could be good, bad or indifferent. Personally, I don't like the direction it's going. Too much about money; too little about other things that separated it from the pro game. On the other hand, it's hard to watch everyone involved except the players profit handsomely while they work their asses off and make huge sacrifices to provide the product on the field. Ironically, if the universities wanted to control player compensation, conference realignment and all the rest of it, the answer is that they would need to give up control to a central authority with the power to make and enforce rules consistent with the current law (or future laws that entity lobbies into existence) and dictate conference membership. I don't think having regional conferences with equal numbers and balanced for competition as well as an expanded playoff would make CFB more NFL in a bad way. Having CFB organized similarly to the NFL would not take away the things (students, bands, on-campus stadiums, traditions, rivalries, not playing for money) that make CFB different from the NFL (and better, in my opinion).
  16. I hate this, but it's inevitable. I feel like an old man where I hate change and everything new. The only thing I do like about this is the aggy tears.
  17. Abandoning their identity would be the best thing that ever happened to them.
  18. Either she has a testicle or that's majora.
  19. I hate off days.
  20. Is there really any speculation? It's always the same thing - coach pretends like there is a real competition, but it's already been decided, even before Sark got here. Thompson will start the season based on age and experience. Card will ride the pine until Thompson sucks or gets hurt. That's it.
  21. This feels like a situation where I need more context because it just can't possibly be that simple. But then again, maybe it is.
  22. Shit. Just snapped out of a trance where I think I watched this for an hour. Alyssa Milano meets Tara Reid with a hot cheer bod? I'll take two, Utah.
  23. I would just like to put this down for posterity. Trump World made up false allegations of election fraud. Complete, utter, total lies and fabrications with absolutely no proof and, in fact, every legal case raising election fraud has been laughed out of court. Now, based on these same demonstrably false voter fraud allegations, Republicans nationwide are attempting to create or change laws regulating voting to suppress Democratic votes. As a "response" to voter fraud that never happened!!! Fucking maddening.
  24. This is why we can't have nice things. Pump the brakes on that shit, Negative Nancy. Naming the guy "Seven Win Steve" before he's even coached a game here? Nah, man. Why you want to perpetuate the idea that Texas fans are a bunch of entitled whiny bitches? The dude was trying to temper expectations a little bit. Very few people are going to be swayed by that. Changes nothing. No one is going to be satisfied with 8 wins. He knows that. His main point was that he's building for long-term, high-level success. He thinks that requires some foundational things first, before counting win totals. Sure, fine, whatever. Could work. We'll see. But no reason to go all Chicken Little before we've seen a single snap.
