  1. So ordered a new colorlogic light to replace the dead one, read the manual and looks like they should have put in a 14v transformer instead of the 12v. Ordered a new transformer as well. It failed during the warranty period but my wife never called to have it replaced (pool was her deal). Even if they had come out, I’m sure they would have just replaced the light and I’d still have the issue. It looks pretty straightforward to replace, have a bucket of pull string to use to facilitate pulling the new wire back, anyone have any suggestions or tips?
  2. I’m the one that usually cooks. When I go to the grocery store, I typically know what we have and buy whatever is needed to make complete meals for the week (I rarely buy junk food). My wife will just walk through the store and buy whatever looks good to her at the time so it’s a lot of random stuff and junk food. She can bring a carload of groceries home and it’s a challenge to figure out what kind of meals she wants me to make. A few weeks ago she decided to go on a diet plan. Like any husband that wants to stay in a calm marriage, I told her I supported her 100%. It’s basically high protein, low carbs and 6 meals a day (and it’s MLM). Someone she actually knows lost 100 lbs and with the way it’s set up, she’ll probably do well (it’s very detailed on what she can eat and she’s really sticking to it). So the day before she started, she spent 3 hours at the store getting all the food she can eat on this plan. She bought probably a months worth of perishables (half of which have already gone to the chickens) and my favorite part is she bought frozen cauliflower rice with veggies. Checked her plan, can’t have corn, so she picked it all out before she cooked it. After she cooked it, she realized it was a cauliflower and rice side dish instead of cauliflowered rice….. chickens got fed again. She boasted yesterday about how much money net she has saved by not ordering lunch at work. It doesn’t come close to how much she has spent on the plan.
  3. Great if you’re into getting stds and mugged by meth addicts. It’s about 20 min from Gainesville. When it first opened up, it was in Gainesville near the country club. Place was clean, girls were hot college students, etc. There was a ton of litigation to close them down, so they finally got forced out and moved down the interstate a bit.
  4. Welcome to SEC Shorts, sorry if already posted.
  5. So don’t talk to 90% of their fans?
  6. Yeah, grew up and live there. Great place to live but not much to do outside of tailgating and the game. Cops (GPD and UFPD) are notorious for going after people with open containers. If it’s an early season game with a noon or 3pm kick off, prepare to get burnt and dehydrated.
  7. Meh, it’s like one big toxic family. We beat the crap out of each other but have each other’s backs against the crappy next door neighbor when it comes to blows.
  8. FSU would be a no, their academics are really, really bad. Also (unlike Aggy), Florida has some pull with other members. Miami would be interesting.
  9. Not a fan of change in general but think Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC would be fantastic. Too bad this didn’t happen years ago instead of getting aggy and that other team, any chance we could give them back and call it even? Btw congrats on beating out Stanford, we seemed to come close a couple of times but if we didn’t do it in 2006-2008, it’s probably never going to happen. Can’t wait to hear the SEC chant (sorry, couldn’t resist)
  10. Jeez. I’m sure he deserves a measure of respect but that’s insane. He’s a director, probably hasn’t done anything wrt actual medical research in over a decade. I’m in IT, once you transition to an admin position, it doesn’t take long to forget how things actually work, especially since it changes so rapidly. My bosses know the lingo but have to come to me to fix things…….
  11. Most was $500 just spent $200 this year, didn’t get mortars this year since my nieces and nephew are here and pretty much scared of everything…..
  12. Jeez, went scalloping last weekend and when I cleaned out the boat cooler at least half of the water and soda bottles had been opened, a couple of swigs taken out, then closed and thrown back into the cooler. There were only 4 on the boat besides me. For the record, I did not do this with any beer.
  13. So we hosted a graduation party last weekend and a birthday party the next day. We buy the massive packs of Chinet plates, Solo cups, and decent flatware for these things and always have plenty on hand. I now have a shitload of assorted colors and sizes of paper thin plates and shit to throw away.
  14. Best way to ensure voter access is to just accept everything, no questions asked, no challenges allowed. Mail, in person without ID, who cares. Let’s just tie it to email addresses.
  15. This. When we moved, my wife didn’t bat an eye at filling a toilet paper box with books. First off, not a sturdy box to begin with- secondly, was too heavy to lift. Her other annoying habit was overfilling boxes to where you couldn’t close them to stack other boxes on them. This is why when we move the next time, I’m going to burn the house down so we can start anew.
  16. Just SOME of the things you need a photo ID to do - get something notarized - cash a check - buy alcohol (unless you’re old like me) - drive a car - check into a hotel (most of them anyway) - rent a car - get on an airplane The argument that it’s insurmountable for people to get one to vote is utter bullshit. I have no doubt that there are some people that have legitimate hurdles to get one, but it seems to me that NOT having one would make everyday existence more problematic. A decade ago when I applied for a passport, I found out my ‘registration of live birth’ from the hospital wasn’t considered a birth certificate. Used it to join the service many, many decades ago, used it to get my drivers license, my parents used it to get my social security card decades before that. Fine. $30 and 5 days later I had my first and only official birth certificate issued by the state I was born in. Sure, there’s probably people that have some extraordinary challenges to overcome to get one but that’s on them. I’m sure there’s plenty of resources available to assist them, they just need to not wait until a month before an election for it to be an issue.
  17. The Wi-Fi feature is fantastic. Before I worked from home, was great to make sure the kids closed the door when they got home from school and for those moments when my wife or I couldn’t remember if we closed it or not. Mines a super quiet belt drive so I appreciate the phone alerts when it opens/closes. Has kept me from getting caught doing stupid guy shit. Surprised nobody has mentioned battery back up. It’s not something I have to use a lot but damn sure appreciate it when powers out during a storm.
  18. The lid on the pro series isn’t as good as putting a dome on a burger to melt the cheese but is just like closing the lid on a grill. Sometimes you need to keep the heat in. Never had the detachable lid for my old one so I can only guess how that works. Seems painful
  19. Had an 18 year old kenmore elite die on me the day before Christmas and it came down to the same two choices for me as well. Went with the kitchenaid, shocked at how quiet it is.
  20. That’s my wife AND my daughters (nopics)
  21. Still time on 1 and 4 but surprisingly 2 and 3 will not be visiting my house today
  22. Just pulled this one off the smoker, pulled it’s twin a couple hours ago, bird #1 is in the fryer with its sisters all lined up
  23. It’s turkey day, lots of family coming over for a 3pm meal. I fully expect one or more things to happen from past experiences. - I pretty much cook everything except the mashed potatoes. She’ll start making them at 2:30 and will finish them around 3:30 - house is reasonably clean but she’ll sleep in until 11 and not have enough time to get things set up outside without my help - she’ll need to run to the grocery store for one item and disappear for 2 hours, leaving me to set things up outside and make the damn mashed potatoes (at least they will be ready on time) - we have a really small kitchen, when it’s time for me to start slicing the turkeys and ham, she will be entertaining all the women folk in said tiny kitchen so I can’t get in there while I’m holding a hot 22 lb bird in my hands, then not understand why I start to get pissy
