  1. Do not care. The kicker is a football player that was running with the football. Plus....Tech.
  2. Nolan was not an everyday player and rarely contributed offensively. Nolan is, and should be, a legend.
  3. Just landed in ATL making my way home from a business trip. There were two Bama t-shirt fans sitting across from me on the flight. All of their luggage still had the purchase and manufacturers tags still on them. I swear those two will be returning that luggage to Walmart as soon as their fancy weekend vacation is over!
  4. Well...since you put it that way...then, yes? Wait! No?
  5. Maybe I should have just described as a "quality individual". One that you would not mind being associated with.
  6. With the recent retirement of Charles and Johnson from the NFL most on here have extolled the virtues of these men and the high character that they exhibit. Couple that with Poona and others that are also mentioned from time to time as high character guys. Have there been any UT guys that have turned into total douches once they hit the NFL? It seems that most Texas guys have been class acts of which I am proud of.
  7. Same here. I am at that stage in life as I have to file something away today that means a previous memory must rotate off. Aging sucks.
  8. These WWII vets played with such unbridled fury and love for the game. They had witnessed the worst that humanity could offer and they played the game without fear because they had already faced the ultimate in fear. They "brought it" on each play. I love watching these old clips. The dirt, grime, grass stains, and mud from playing on real grass added another look and feel that enhanced the ruggedness of the game. RIP Mr. Marchetti.
  9. Understood but I am only considering stats.
  10. IMO if Terrell Davis is in so should Charles be in.
  11. How is it possible that a group of people could be so clueless and dumb? It is almost gotten to the point with these people that they are saying such outlandish things because it is expected and they want the attention it brings.
  12. This made me laugh out loud in my office. Perfect.
  13. Is there a way to unsee something? Need to know ASAP.
  14. I do not recall TEX and I graduated in December of 88. Maybe I am just old and cannot remember.
  15. Yes I did, along with other sage advice. The only thing that i was not prepared for was an active shooter situation. That occurred her freshman year. She called me in a panic. She was locked in her dorm room and she did not know where her roommate was which was also a friend of hers from high school. As a parent it is a bit alarming to be on the phone reassuring your child that it is going to be OK while you hear all of the alarms going off in the background. The shooter finally knocked himself off in the PCL. I spent a lot of time on the phone with her. She would always call me when she was walking back from the student parking near DFF on the other side of I-35 back to her dorm. Like I said, her going to school there created such a bond. She is burnt orange through and through. She is now in Durham, NC, married and is expecting her first child (next generation Longhorn). We text and talk during the football games and try to make at least one game a season together. We talk almost everyday on the phone. She is a great daughter.
  16. I certainly did. All she had to do was to go online and wait. I also rummaged around in some old paperwork and found a tuition bill from one of my Fall semesters. It was less than $500 for a full class load including the sports package, building fees, etc. She was dumbfounded!
  17. Congrats to your son and family. As an alum it is extra special to have a child attend UT as well. I graduated in '88 and my daughter graduated in 2014. I remember well bringing her down for orientation and then the first move-in day. She asked so many questions about what to do and where to go. I was a bit bewildered myself as the process had changed so much. It had gone from a very manual system to everything being done electronically or online. Great times for sure. Another win for the good guys! Hookem! It will create even a more special bond between you and your child.
  18. Cancer sucks. Thoughts and prayers Paden.
  19. UT was the only choice for my daughter. She attended her first UT game at the age of 4. My wife (SFA grad) encouraged her to look at other schools to make an informed decision. We made one trip to Baylor to investigate their nursing program. This was more to appease the wife than for my daughter as it was clear that it was UT or bust for my daughter. Finally my daughter and I (UT grad) told the wife the situation and that we were wasting our time even considering anything else. My daughter was an auto-admit to UT in 2010 as she was in the Top 10% of her class. She was not admitted to the Nursing School. She eventually changed her major and graduated from the School of Communications in 2014 and is working in Durham. UT was not the school of choice for my son. He preferred a more rural setting so that he could go hunting or fishing whenever he desired. He ended up at SFA and graduated in 2017. If UT was not in an urban setting he would have gone there. He liked the school atmosphere and its academics but not the big-city setting. Oddly enough he has now ended up working in Ft. Worth. Despite him graduating from SFA he is a huge Texas fan as that is what he grew up on. FWIW, attending SFA is much less expensive than UT.
  20. As an alum, there are only a few things that tops putting the Horns up and singing The Eyes of Texas.
  21. So fast. Jones' leg looks effortless. Like he wasn't even trying. Have watched many times and continue to be impressed.
  22. I am presently in Perth, Australia on business. This afternoon I was in the CBD getting a bit of exercise. I had stopped at the street crossing waiting to cross when a guy approached me and asked if I were a Longhorn. Being that I had a UT shirt on I naturally replied "yes". He in turns extends his hand and announces that he is an aggy. I shake his hand and say, "You have my condolences".
