  1. aggy can "strengthen" their schedule on paper for this year knowing full well that the season most likely will not play out therefore not having to face the real consequences of additional losses. However, in subsequent years this schedule will somehow surface in their "strength" of schedule and SEC debates as a bonus.
  2. Newsflash: Dallas has more cases than Hallsville, Texas. Total cases more maybe because more opportunities. What about cases per capita?
  3. Avatar look-a-like
  4. Three letters: BEE
  5. Cape Town is touristy too. Try visiting Johannesburg to see the conditions there. I visit SA a couple of times a year. Visiting is enough as I would not want to live there.
  6. I am the type that gets there early and stays until the end (sometimes the bitter end). I only make it to a couple of games a year so being among the UT faithful I always stay and sing the "Eyes". I also make it to a least one road game a year as well. I have gone to the last two away WVU/UT games both of which UT won. There is something about singing the "Eyes" on another team's turf that is so bonding with other UT fans and alumni.
  7. Who or what is the dude in the blue kerchief and blue socks? Looks so...out of place?
  8. Washington Water Buffaloes
  9. Earl says, "When you put those Horns up, there is someone there to help you". Family. Hook'em.
  10. What is "bland" or "boring" to us today was not necessarily so when some of these names were chosen in years past.
  11. A best selling book that has yet to be published?
  12. The local TV station ran the story yesterday that UT "rejected" the request to quite singing the "Eyes of Texas". This was reported during the 5:00pm news. I immediately emailed the station a copy of the letter as sent out by the Interim President along with my objection of their reporting. Within 20 minutes I received a reply from them about the word "rejected": Email follows: TV Station Reply: Thank you for writing in. I think you bring up a great and fair point. The source on that story was the Associated Press out of Austin. I agree their wording, and as a result ours, could have better reflected the outcome. “Rejected” assumes too much. I appreciate you for bringing it to our attention. Text for the story: RACIAL INJUSTICE-TEXAS Texas keeps 'The Eyes of Texas' despite athlete demands The University of Texas has rejected calls by its athletes to change a school song that they believe has racist undertones. “The Eyes of Texas” has long been criticized for its connection to minstrel shows with characters in blackface in the early 1900s. The school says the song will remain. Texas interim president Jim Hartzell says the Texas community has the power to determine “what the ‘Eyes of Texas’ expect of us, what they demand of us.”
  13. My take is that the Team will stay to sing the song after the game as a Team as I would think that part of the approval of keeping the song was that all parties are good with the direction that is being taken. There may be some outliers that still have an issue with the song but with the concept of Team unity they will stay on the field to sing it.
  14. Who is the VY equal for an AD?
  15. Going to an Ivy League Football game is on my Bucket List. I just need to find a sweater with a large T on it and maybe a small megaphone.
  16. App State will beat them. They have a nice program.
  17. If they all quit where will they go? All schools have something wrong with them in some way. Will the NCAA waive any sit time for those that are transferring because of racial issues?
  18. The US is the best country in the world. Period.
  19. Due to the business that I am in I have been to 29 different countries, many of which have been multiple visits, and most of them have been for a decent stay and not a drop in and get out situation. Unlike a lot of people's views of other countries that have been Chamber of Commerce Come Visit Our Country commercial on TV or have actually gone to these countries to only visit the tourist spots, etc., I have had the opportunity to actually get out into the depth of the countries and see how conditions are and have met a wide variety of people in return. I am with USMCHorn 100% on this post. If you do not think that the USA is not the best country in the world then you need to get out more often.
  20. This right here. If something was said or done to you years ago and you are just now bringing it up then just how bad was it? How much retro-action is allowable? Are we going to stop showing old movies from the ‘30”s and “40’s because they are not politically correct? Going to quit airing reruns of The Chappell Show and In Living Color? Etc.? I am all for doing the right thing and getting this Nation united but I have a hard time with exaggeration and exploitation.
  21. Yet. Still potential for a snake bite.
