  1. Damn. Some of you were never kids? ’Cause kids - especially teenage boys - do dumb stuff. Even really good kids… they sometimes do really dumb stuff.
  2. There could not be anything less rock and roll than an ex-president in heavy clown makeup telling an audience they are the God-fearing backbone of America.
  3. Agree with all of that - hard to beat those two records for songwriting, performances, musicianship, etc. I think around 2002, I went to a sporting event with some buddies, and the topic came up: "Best American rock band working right now." I suggested it was maybe the Black Crowes, and I was pretty much dismissed -- "not even in the conversation" I was told (the consensus was Foo Fighters). Anyway, just an observation... I didn't know in 2002 that the Crowes wouldn't put out a record for 5 more years, and essentially completely implode in petty squabbles and lawsuits, while the Foo would spend 20 years making records and playing thousands of shows. What might have been...
  4. Agree on all counts. As a guitar investment, you should put that thirty grand into a pre-war Martin or a 1960 Strat, or almost *anything* else. Even though they're only making seven of them, I'd say there's a good chance that within a few years, we'll see one on Reverb, where somebody is bending over backwards with expired links and screen shots from old promo ads... trying to convince somebody to give them 15K (which might also be a bad investment).
  5. Good Lord. Thirty grand for that abomination? That's even worse than those "boogie van" Les Pauls that listed for 5k.
  6. What’s amazing about those guys is how they were right about an issue… yet still the most annoying people on campus.
  7. A decade of Trump tweets talking about "smocking" guns, secure "boarders," and legal "council..." ... not to mention a hundred examples of him asking his chief of staff if Finland was part of Russia, or telling an Israeli audience that he just "flew in from the Middle East," or suggesting that doctors inject bleach to kill covid, or failing to color an American flag as well as children who just started attending school? But now you think America is not "getting a fair shake" from two black women?
  8. I think I agree with what you're getting at, but I'd say we were one of the least *athletic* -- not one of the least talented Texas teams. In the past decade, we've had some freakish athletes who weren't necessarily great basketball players (Kerwin Roach comes to mind). This year was maybe unusual in that we had a couple guys (Tim Allen and Tre Mitchell) who had good footwork and nice touch from inside 12-15 feet, but neither was especially athletic. As long as we're debriefing the year, let's give some kudos to Ramey, who got a lot of (IMO, well-deserved) shit in the past for playing hero-ball and jacking contested 3's early in the shot clock... but the guy was just nails as a defensive stopper this year, and gave us a win against Kansas and damn nearly another one tonight by shutting down a lottery pick.
  9. Yeah, he took about 4 shuffle steps before he went up with the ball.
  10. Fuck this no-talent Cro Magnon piece of shit.
  11. Huggins is an irritable, mumbling, low-energy slob.
  12. I don't know, man. They got 6 free throws on phantom calls against 3-point shooters. I agree we're not attacking the rim, but it's not their bigs that are getting all these calls.
  13. 19 free throws to 4 is horse shit.
  14. Man, I haven’t sold anything on craigslist for a while, but I used to routinely get insultingly low offers along with the explanation that “I would love to have this for my praise band.” Fuck your fake praise band, bro.
  15. Did anyone else think describing the Russian forces as "unsuspecting" was kind of a weird caption? Like, if you're invading a country, maybe be more suspecting?
  16. You are a voice of reason here, but this is just not true. At the announcement of the merger, the Big 8 was intact *and* suddenly in a much better position for TV contracts and the fertile recruiting grounds of Houston and Dallas (Texas was also suddenly in a better position to keep its in-state recruits at home). The four SWC schools had a sense of "Finally! We're in a conference that can compete on a national stage." The only Big 12 school that seemed to be looking around from the get-go was Mizzou. That's it.
  17. That is possibly the worst charge call I've ever seen
  18. You shall not Surly die.
  19. Really? What wiki says on the topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Betty
  20. You are going to really enjoy going back through his old stuff, because a lot of it is brilliant. The whole record "yelled at by a clown" is on YouTube.
  21. That's more like it.
