  1. I have moles. Is there a good way to get rid of them beside one of those in ground traps? Dog tries to catch them (digs massive tunnel holes) and I don’t want her to lose a nose. One section of my yard feels like is raised with all the tunnels.
  2. Picked up this little girl on Friday evening. 7 weeks old. She has definitely made an impression on our other dog (just turned 1). They have become fast friends. Kids/wife named her Muffin. Daughter (no pics, 6) said “her nickname can be muff.” I said no. I will probably call her little dog, because she’s going to be a little dog.
  3. I got a Google Nest mesh a couple weeks ago. 4 pack. Couple of the points drop off a lot. I haven’t been super happy with it. Trying to figure out where the best positioning is. They talk about 2 rooms, but that’s ambiguous. Two walls from router to 1 point will show “good” connection, then be weak or offline next check. Little frustrating.
  4. I downloaded this yesterday as well.
  5. Those are what I was looking for! Thanks
  6. I need fertilizer for St Augustine. Then I need a pre emergent for fall. I want to go ahead and get this stuff so I can be ready. I went at my yard hard at end of last summer and almost killed it with Weed Free Zone. However, I got the spurge and almost all of the crab grass out of the front. I have more weed free zone, but I’m scared to use it. (It was probably a bad time last year - late and in the heat). Yard is looking better, just hate the winter weeds.
  7. I “graduated” in May of ‘02 and walked. Family came in for it. Sucked. Didn’t do commencement because I didn’t want to waste the time. I had 6 hours left. Finally finished them after I got married in 2011 (6 turned into 12 after 10 years). We went to commencement as guests. Got hammered. Watched fireworks. It was awesome. Definitely appreciated it more being older.
  8. I’ve rewired a bunch id fixtures in my house (not sure why we have so many). Mine were all non-shunted single side. Or at least that’s how I wired them and they work. One side has two blue wires to one tombstone and two red to the other tombstone. Both end up in the ballast. Then you have a single yellow going to the other side that has a connection between the two tombstones. I cut blue and red, match up one blue with one red and it goes to hot. Connect the other blue and red and that goes to white. Cut the yellow, cute the connection (don’t think it matters, just did it). Remove ballast, close it up and install tubes.
  9. Dude. I’ve been to roadside gas station restrooms and they don’t scream germ free. Can only imagine what’s up in that shit now. It would also be a different story with 3 boys. I only have 1, with 2 girls. I’m not asking them to do something I wouldn’t (sit on a gas station toilet). None of it is going to matter. My wife is completely freaking out and not about to go out in the world right now.
  10. BIL lives in Alaska and is getting this guy today.
  11. Got the six pack yesterday and installed. Looks nice. For poster above, if possible I think taking out the ballast and quick rewire for LED tubes is easier. I rewire for single side, non-shunted. Takes about 5 min.
  12. If you drive somewhere, what are you doing about bathroom breaks? I have 3 kids. I need to get everyone out of the house.
  13. I had 2 units that I already took the ballast out and desired. Ordered tubes for them. Then ordered what was listed above for the 6 foot replacement situation. I also like the added options with placement the 6 individual 4 ft fixtures offer.
  14. I just ditched the extender I’ve had for the last year for Google Nest. I was so tired of walking in my house and connecting to the EXT network, then be sitting on my couch with shitty internet because I’m still on the EXT. I’m sure there was a way to fix that, but now my whole house is on one seamless network.
  15. Those are a good option. Reevaluate my plans
  16. I have 5 tube light fixtures in my garage. Assuming they were all the same length (look same from distance) I bought 10 4ft LED tubes. I found out last night 3 of the fixtures are 6 ft. Cost for 6ft LEDs is substantially higher and they’re not as easy to find. Since removing the ballast and rewiring will cause the fixture to function differently (one side has no power), can I cut 2 ft out of the fixture and still have it work? I think I would really just make one cut and overlap.
  17. ADP is terrible. They advertise as an all in one and will let you do anything you ask. That includes blowing up your 401k because you’re non-complaint with the plan you set up. Most providers offer open architecture, meaning you have a fairly large list of funds/ETFs to choose from for the plan. Then, whatever your plan trustee puts in the plan becomes the employees’ options. Can’t have too many because you have fiduciary issues.
  18. I built a raised garden for the kids during the quarantine and now we have stuff actually growing. Bell peppers seem to attract ants. What’s the best way to handle this? Online is see cinnamon or red pepper. Any ideas welcome.
  19. I bought this about a month ago and I’ve used it twice in my backyard with the kids. Wife isn’t down, but me and 3 kids fit. It can easily sleep 4 adults. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/coleman-rolling-meadows-6-person-dome-tent-118402486
  20. When I lived in NYC in 15 years ago the dog walking was ~25-30 a dog. When I would go out of town my dog walker would take my dog home with her and have him back at my place before I got home. There was an exec who left her job to run a dog walking biz. She was banking. And that was a long time ago. As for saving, we saved just over 2k last month and April looks to be north of 3k. I’m still going to office but wife and kids are stuck at home. Pretty excited about that.
  21. So that’s the AC2200 (RBK43). How does it differ from the AC3000(RBK50)? I cannot find an AC3000 3 pack. I think the updating issues just mentioned are a netgear thing. I updated my Nighthawk router this morning and our internet went down for a while. Had to reset it and the modem. 30 minutes later it was up like nothing had happened. I need something soon. Getting pissed with this extender and not having seem less movement (connects to extender when I pull in garage and stays that way until it loses the connection in my bedroom or I manually switch it). Plus, no love in the far side of the garage where the TV is (not that there is anything to watch these days).
  22. Reviving this. Got spartan in late Feb. I have 4 on a little over half an acre. I can’t figure they’re doing much. Should I see skeeters in the water? Should I place them in more visible paths? I’m spraying Bifen tonight (depending on future rain forecast) and ripping down my gutters.
