  1. What is the size of a sport court? Trying to figure a place in our backyard.
  2. Curious about spray guns as well. I’ve been considering it for a couple years. So many options.
  3. Other poster is right, it’s a conversion. Not eligible for deduction put it in and convert. Backdoor Roth. *sorry, you’re right. I thought other poster was saying convert, but he said reclassify. No dice on that.
  4. He could convert to Roth, but IRS considers all IRA money in a conversion, so some of it will be taxable, and that’s assuming an IRA account didn’t exist before this. 100k in IRA, convert the 6k, 6% isn’t taxed, rest is.
  5. No, you’ll now have a basis in your IRA so the 6k and change will not be taxed twice. It’s tracked with Form 8606. Your CPA or even turbo tax (i think), can handle this.
  6. Why exactly is it considered overfunded? Why don’t you just leave it in as a nondeductible IRA contribution? You can have a pension at work and still put money in an IRA. Also, when did you make the contribution? If in 2020, can your institution just change the year of the contribution? *edit* when I say nondeductible I’m referring to the amount over what you can deduct(740 I believe)
  7. Why is that kid wearing a coat in July? What’s the general location? I need to go somewhere my kids need coats to go outside.
  8. A client of mine has been trying to convince me that moving to New Zealand would be in my best interest for the last 4 years. I started looking into it a month ago. I could continue working in the US, and eventually do the same thing there. My wife would never go for it. She’s too close with her family and I couldn’t drag them away.
  9. Our district has come out with plans yet. My wife was a teacher handful of years ago and got our kids through spring. She said no recess, no school for us (going to 1 & 3). A bunch of other parents have hit us up about group home school. Wife said she’d rather go private. I’m not as keen on that idea, but I also wouldn’t be doing much teaching.
  10. Brother in law is in Kodiak and got a puppy about a month ago I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little jealous. In the yard and couldn’t find our new pup. Other dog found her and lead me over
  11. Hard to pass up. Save $10k? No brainer.
  12. Great addition. Just ordered. I’ll update when finished.
  13. Ok. I was just asking. Probably go something simple. Thanks for the input
  14. We got a table that we’re using as a desk. I’m going to install an outlet so I can limit wires hanging around. Reason for the post, I’m debating drilling a hole in the middle of one of the legs to run the wire to absolutely hide it. I have a 24 inch drill bit, but I’m a little nervous about blowing out the side and ruining the table. Has anyone done this? Is it a bad idea? Should I just use clear zip ties and run the wire up the back corner leg that should be pretty hidden?
  15. Whatever came of the story about the old boss who resigned?
  16. Game last night was ho hum. Having problems keeping a lot of these kids focused on the game. 6u, so I’ve got some 5 yr olds out there that like to watch life pass them by. Lost by 1. Positive note, son recorded 2 outs playing pitcher and hit a legit home run (I say legit because in tball there can be a lot of over throwing). He hits off the pitch a lot during games, but struggles on the tee. I’m the coach at home, so and I set up the tee I told him to block everything out, it’s just him and the ball on the tee; just like home. It worked! I wish I had a picture of the look on his face as he rounded 3rd. He couldn’t believe he was being waved on. Pure joy!
  17. We started this week with both softball and baseball. Our girls 8u team looked amazing. We don’t know what happened (only had 2 practices). 3 games in before the covid they were getting their asses kicked. All of the sudden, making plays and teeing off at the plate. 2-0, 7 game season I think. Daughter was 3-4 with a couple great hits and got 3 outs in the first game back. The boys did the opposite. We lost our best player (family didn’t want to risk anything) and 2 teams folded. We picked up a kid (worst player in the league - literally). Game on Tuesday and they all look terrible. It looked like they didn’t know anything. We had 4 practices over the last 2 weeks. No one knew where the ball was supposed to go, half of them in lala land. 2nd kid at bat hit the ball and ran to 3rd. My son played pitcher and 1st. He used to go after everything at pitcher, now he moves out of the way (more like tap dancing). At 1B he didn’t stop any throws his way. We had a couple sure outs and he just didn’t move to the ball. Frustrating. Last, kid we picked up has a helicopter dad. If dad would lay off I think kid would be better. Dad was a coach on one of the folded teams. He’s trying to insert himself on our team, which would be fine, but he’s only interested in coaching his kid. We can only have 2 coaches on the field and they are both needed. Sucks when 1 is working all of them and the other is working 1. My wife told me to forget about it and let head coach handle it. I think head coach is too nice. Game 2 tonight, we’ll see what happens.
  18. Thanks. I thought deadheading wasn’t necessary on knockout roses? I’ll cut the yellow off today when I get home.
  19. Knockout roses were looking great this year (installed last summer). Just noticed leaves turning yellow. Solutions? Thought these were disease resistant. I’m in houston area and it was extremely humid last week.
  20. I’m not a little dog fan either. Wife was behind this one. Had to take what I could get. She is pretty cute right now.
  21. So the two dogs play awesome. Problem is 60lbs vs 5lbs right now. Little dog got a tooth in the eye this morning. Tear on her cornea. Cone of shame. Drops for a couple weeks. No rough play is going to be tough.
  22. Pool light trips a breaker. Pool guys claim they couldn’t get the light out. They think the wire is crimped somewhere. I notice there’s water in the light fixture. Could this be the problem? FILs pool, so I’m limited in what I can do and when. He knows nothing about his pool.
  23. Did your bill/account not get messed up a few months ago with Altice merger and new system? My cable and internet go down constantly. Channels disappear for hours (msg says something about it coming back soon). I moved last year and they kept my phone number attached to the old address when they set up an account. Every time I would call, they weren’t able to verify my account because they found the old address first and would shut the conversation down. It was a cluster. Then, they wouldn’t remove my number from the other account without that client calling. I could go on. We had ATT before moving here and I would switch in a heart beat. Suddenlink and Comcast are the only options here.
  24. Do not switch to suddenlink. Their business is totally jacked. I cannot stand them.
