  1. Yes, I agree. I mean the pre-MAGA tea partiers were deranged at all Dems at that point but it was the whole “pass the bill so we can read it” thing that made her a target.
  2. SIAP…follow up to the supposed 120mm direct hit video.
  3. I fucking love Alex Padilla. Dude has (knock on wood) been a diligent public servant in environments that encourage corruption, and as a Latino I’m admittedly biased to say I’m super proud of his accomplishments. It may be minor, but his intervention in the Martinez scandal was very impressive to me as it shows he’s asserting leadership in the CA Democratic Party. He has my vote. I have absolutely nothing against Southern California non-MAGA politics, I just think it would be wild to flip Senate representation after most of my life has been DiFi (SF), Babs (Marin) and Kamala (SF…ish).
  4. I wasn’t referring to the social divide, but rather the dynamic of Bay Area over-representation in statewide offices due to lower voter participation in Southern California. I didn’t mean to overstate it, but it’s nice, particularly when folks from the SF machine are in office. There’s a reason HCD directed its first probe at SF. Hell, Newsom killed SF’s $1.7M public toilet. I’ve always taken DiFi’s influence for granted, just think it’ll be interesting how that void is filled.
  5. The regions are just two very distinct political machines and it’s nice to have regional representation. For example, housing is an issue for all of California but IMO SoCal doesn’t take it seriously as the Bay does; it’s been super helpful to have Gavin Newsom get directly involved in SF housing battles and we wouldn’t have that progress if, say, Garcetti were governor. Likewise, it was helpful for LA to have Padilla throw his weight around to help resolve the Nury Martinez & co. debacle. DiFi didn’t give a shit.
  6. Hopefully should be solid. Nina Compton has been working on some fucking NFT members-only cocktail bar, hopefully she isn’t overextended. I’ve always seen her in the kitchen at CL.
  7. Yeah, I know dude, that was the joke - I’m from New Orleans, where the East Bank is on the west and the West Bank is on the east, and instead of cardinal directions we have uptown, downtown, lakeside and riverside. And the Dnipro was still confusing!
  8. YYR. Curried Goat is the menu mainstay.
  9. I’m a New Orleanian and that still confuses me.
  10. I am aware. I’ve really just assumed she wouldn’t last until then. My point was that her succession will raise the NorCal/SoCal dynamic, which hasn’t been a Senate issue for decades. I like Katie Porter but I will only vote for someone from the Bay.
  11. That’s an interesting issue. I’d expect there to be a push for someone from Northern California, the historical source of political power in the state. Otherwise you’d have two southern Californians for the first time in decades. There’s Barbara Lee (old) and London Breed (prob going to prison) who fit Newsom’s pledge for a black woman. Otherwise IDK who is strong enough. Ro Khanna? I’m looking for Scott Wiener to run for Nancy’s seat if she retires.
  12. Absolute hell scape. You can actually see the opening to their cul de sac, Normandie Terrace, on the left.
  13. What do they think is causing the sciatica? I was out for a year with a bulged disc but ultimately stuck to PT, NSAIDs and lifestyle adjustments since cortisone shots are often ineffective longer-term. That said, I almost got an ulcer from the amount of Aleve they had me taking early on, so totally understand the hesitation there. I’d want to know the severity of the underlying injury causing the pain first.
  14. Just walked by their house. Counted six black suburbans and five SFPD squad cars. No pics because I wanted to live to see game 6.
  15. Thank god he struck out, Jesus.
  16. It’s really weird. They have an intense congressional detail outside when she’s in town, to the point where you’re kind of afraid to stare at the house, but apparently SFPD is too short-staffed for a detail when Nancy is out of town. I don’t know why they wouldn’t pay for one given the events of the past few years. Also, Fox may be having a field day but the Chesa Boudin butthurt is strong right now.
  17. Yeah my first thought was, “Damn I’m impressed a crackhead made it up Pac Heights, crime don’t climb”, but that’s from having lived in SF too long. But I’m surprised - there’s always a security detail on their block, which is a cul de sac. After Jan 6 I assumed it would be there regardless of where Nancy is.
  18. Tracy’s or Cooter Brown’s. Guess Walk Ons if you don’t want to leave the FQ.
  19. Garbage, imo.
  20. 2019 Cote Rotie, imo. We blinded these since we were allocated one bottle of the Jamet and wanted to see if it really stood out. It did.
  21. Not a bad idea for weekends, but otherwise is easy to walk into.
