  1. I'm highly suspect that reputation will carry forward for the next two decades, now that they've finally updated a number of platforms and powertrains. Granted, that 2.4 turbo goes into a ton of Toyota models as well, things aren't looking so hot for the bigger Tundra and LX models. The Tacoma that fragged its front diff on TFL's first trail test was a fun watch, but now the '24 transmissions are failing and that issue might trickle into the first production of 4Runners. The '90s are NOT alive and well.
  2. The RX that looks like Toucan Sam from the front and a 2.4L turbo-4 underneath its beak? I have no fucking clue why people buy Toyota or Lexus anymore.
  3. Wow, nice find... I'd say that's the spec you want.
  4. Trading hands three times with the Cayenne, the 2025 RSQ8 Performance just set the Nürburgring Nordschleife's SUV record with a lap time of 7:36.998. In June 2021, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT ran it at 7:38.925. I'm not seeing much of a spec-bump. The Performance gets a 40HP power bump, new, lighter, 23" wheels, revised exhaust, model-specific grille, and the new 2D corporate logos, and optional matte carbon trims. MY 2024 was the facelift year for the 4M platform but the sheetmetal and interior were unchanged. Only the lighting package and bumper covers were refreshed.
  5. Nope, same turbos, same bottom end, same ECU-- it's merely factory tuning, so you could roll out of the garage with a 700+HP daily on pump gas with merely a tune. Suspension tuning is slightly different in the RSQ8, but it's on the same air dampers as the SQ8, and that all can be adjusted with a button press for the mode, just like in our S6. Just buy a CETE module and tie it into the CANbus so you can change between modes, or air it up/down from an app on your phone.
  6. LOL, you and I are car-twins. I'm going RS Q8 from the S6, mostly for the options available on it: Carbon Ceramic brakes, Executive, B&O 3D, Cognac leather interior. The SQ8 will fit the bill as well- it's the same Porsche 4.0 V8 with the same tuning potential (668 HP / 768ft-# on 91 pump) as the RS Q8. Build options matter a lot to me on the 4M platform: You'll need the Executive package for full dual-pane windows, soft-close doors, and microsuede headliner. The B&O 3D audio was a $5K option and sounds similar to what we have in our S6. Try your best to find one with the S-Sport package, which gets you the sport rear differential and 48V mild-hybrid rear sway bar-- it's connected to actuators on each side that adds torque to the sway bar, opposite your turn angle, to reduce body roll. That's standard on the RS Q8. Another thing to note on the 4M platform is a notorious issue of a failed 48V generator- it's most prevalent on 2020-2022 model years, popping up after 20K miles or so. It's an expensive repair out of warranty but I imagine AoA will soon issue a bulletin extending the warranty of the alternator and mild hybrid system. I'm particular over the scarce few colors that truly look good on the Q8 body (to me): I only find appeal on Navarra Blue, Waitomo Blue, Java Green, and to be a basic bitch, Daytona Gray. SQ8 interior colors are limited to Rock Gray, Arras Red, and Black.
  7. ..which the last time a similar standard color was offered was on the 997, Macadamia Metallic: As far as a "bad" color for a 911, I have to say Chalk. 2014 is a full decade behind us and it's a standard color on the Cayenne, so why open up the PTS on this when the bodywork is meant to show color?! From "bad" to BADASS: Auratium with Neodyme wheels: ...and in Fjord Green:
  8. Sure, boneheaded move on his part, but not entirely his fault. I guarantee his girlfiend/ex-fiance had much more to do with that decision. Things get even more interesting had you asked them independently how each were contributing to the mortgage.
  9. Of course it will be monetized. Microsoft licensing Copilot subs for practically every product out front shoulda told you.
  10. And then when our PII data is breached from shoddy controls, we're rewarded with credit fraud, spam E-mail, robocalls, and an insulting 12-month membership to another data broker's "credit monitoring service," as consolation. Then the resulting class-action suit awards you $12.50 after plaintiff's fees are deducted.
  11. Finally an opportunity to sell AAPL and harvest gains
  12. That's a pretty sweet refresh of the i8. They're still hawking BMWs, right?
  13. X5 M60i now, and it's a beast.
  14. ...and somewhere in that wild scenario, the buyer's agent never shared this conflict with their clients over an opportunity to make up for the lost commssion at closing, but instead remained mum and lost the deal for their client? Sounds like a bunch of bullshit, but now that this lesson has been learned, the client has enough motivation to tell their agent to fuck off and buy without representation altogether. In a sellers' market, that seems like the route to me. Or maybe this agent is woefully behind the times and realizes they need to :checks bootstraps: and find more sellable inventory while trying a more honest approach with his/her clients on future buyer representation. We're not exactly in an extreme sellers' market anymore; the story above already hints at challenges to find qualified buyers, but at the same time, the number of NEW SFHs for sale has risen to 477,000, the highest level since the 2008 Financial Crisis, so read the tea leaves.
  15. Lower rates aren't going to address house price appreciation of 44% from 2018. That shit is entrenched from 12-month trailing comps and the next dipshit buyer bidding over list, leveraging their iBuyer service, or using it as a vehicle to park liquidity while AirBnB or rent-seeking for the next generation.
  16. And if their dividend yield is substantial... and not likely to be fucked with.
  17. All that and the DNT is about to start expansion into Prosper and Celina, so the whole southbound commute through Frisco will be permafucked. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/local/dallas-north-tollway-extending-prosper-celina/287-b595c6c7-d1f5-4dcf-b83c-3d32163d7145 I didn't realize you're so close to me-- I'm in Castle Hills and can't imagine living any further north than you but I'm already worn out of DFW and searching for communities out of the state.
  18. I'm in Dallas and have been quoted $85/LF for 6" board-on-board red cedar. Getting fancy with a top cap and all, but I'm looking at $20K to replace a 6' builder's grade cedar fence with a new 8'.
  19. I can't ever AirBnB out of principle-- SFHs should be occupied by families, not leveraged as speculative assets. Doesn't help that AirBnB is a shill organization while LLPAs, insurance, and property taxes make it a non-starter now. The fuck I'm going to subsidize someone else's investment.
  20. I owned a first-gen CTS-V for a couple years and found it sexy at the time, with its slab-sided creases, subtly flared fender arches, and straight-edged sheetmetal. At that time, automakers were just starting to depart from the "bubble car" styling and only the much more expensive Germans competed. It was also fun that the CTS-V was only available in the ZF 6-speed manual.
  21. RSQ8 is my replacement for the S6, I'm planning to move to a climate better suited for something slightly more SUV-like.
  22. Settings --> WiFi, then examine your SSIDs. Do you have multiple SSIDs configured and do they belong to an AP Group? Recent versions of UI's Network Manager now has a "Radio Manager" option on the left side, where you allocate AP devices, band segmentation, and AP Groups. Things have probably shuffled around a bit (if you updated recently) and you'll may need to re-enable to reconfigure the APs.
  23. How many 737-Max 8s do Alaska have in service this week?
