  1. My beautiful friends, I spent three hours yesterday with Quinn Ewers and surprise guest, Cedric Baxter! As some of you may recall, I got to hang last summer w/ Mr. Ewers and Colt, and this time it was even more fun, if that's possible! He looks a little taller than last year, perhaps because he has slimmed down so much. Of course, I've fattened up, so there's that, too, haha. He is just about the nicest, most humble young man you can imagine. Plus, he can handle a vintage pickup truck and can rock a cowboy hat and some sweet Tecovas! I didn't know Cedric Baxter would be hanging with us. He's trimmer than I thought he would be. He is a very sweet young man. Again, humble, smart and very approachable. I spoke to him at length and learned all about him. He told me about being originally committed to Florida State, which was his dream, but how when Coach Choice came to Texas, it was a done deal. He also wanted to leave the state and see more of the world, but he eventually would like to play for the Dolphins. He is also quite interested in fashion and has even created his own brand! You can follow him at @c4era on Insta. I want to to help him promote it. We talked about how much we both liked Jahmyr Gibbs, who is a product of Choice. I told him I can't wait to watch him on Sundays. I told him I knew we would beat Bama when he got the start, cause we weren't playing scared. He said coming here early gave him the jump on learning the system and he appreciated the trust the coaches have in him. He said his injury is nothing to worry about and he didn't move hurt at all. I also met his family. They were wonderful and are very protective of him. It made me realize how young he really is, as I think he said he came here when he was 17! I told them he is going to do great things in football or otherwise, and they appreciated it. He also expressed to me about how much the win over Bama meant to Quinn in a really powerful way. I also got to talk shit with Quinn about Westlake. I told him that his Bama performance didn't surprise me, after I saw him carve up the best defense in our Westlake's history. (In my view, the Westlake game was harder than the Bama game, cause he had time against Bama while he was running for his life the entire HS championship game, and he was playing hurt!) He is such a gentle soul at heart and so easy to talk to. We talked about how happy we were that his HS teammates ended up at Air Force and SMU. Lot of talent from Southlake. For our pics, I migrated him to the new Mathew McConaughey "Hook 'em," just to piss you olds off. (Haha, I'm 63) Quinn kept bringing it back that they aren't done yet, and is really looking forward. I believe him! Here are some pics. Love y'all! Bro can style Sweet young man going to do great things Haha, check out the driver behind him. I need to lay off the Megastuff Oreos, but have you tried them? Did you know yo can have pictures printed on Oreos now? We did for daughter's college graduation party. They look awesome. Sweet Deal with it. What a great guy. Cedric having fun. How awesome is this? Next to the video of a the dude getting his pickup truck spun around by a tornado, then driving away, this might be the most Texas thing I've ever seen.
  2. Honestly, most of the Deion haters have fled the board. There are still a few remaining, but as each of their preseason proclamations get skewered, some have had to start literally making things up to attack him!
  3. I hope we have some Aggie lurkers who will try to spin this. Some fun facts about Texas A&M 's recent performance under Coach Moneybags: 1-7 in last 8 games against Power 5 teams Has lost 7 consecutive road games 7-14 on the road Less than 30 points scored in 80% of his road games Too bad they can't just play a whole schedule of cupcakes at home. (and they lost one of those last season, lulz)
  4. Westlake High School installed a new system of field turf this summer (Matrix Helix synthetic turf installed by Hellas and Ecotherm® infill,) which keeps field temperatures about 30 degrees cooler than traditional infill products. Not sure how it works but it feels great on the turf even on the hottest days.
  5. You are correct about Colorado previously being ranked. My bad. I am responding to your comments about hanging w so many racists in Texas and then proclaiming Texas to be a racist state. Aside from questions about why you are hanging w those people in the first place, I can assure you that there are plenty of racist morons in Colorado and it's silly to proclaim one place better than another in that respect.
  6. Thanks. I am aware of why. I just find it so stupid that we somehow moved to a less evolved video state. Heck, black and white footage from the 1930's is often sharper than color film from the 60's and 70s. I think Martin Scorsese shot Raging Bull in black and white partly as a protest against the lack of preservation of color in movies.
  7. How is it possible that the black and white film from the 1930's is much sharper and better than the pre-hi-def video from the 1990's?
  8. Oh, I see you've resurfaced. I can't wait to learn more about how much better life is in Colorado than Texas.
  9. Yeah, that has been a mess, but when was the last time an unranked Colorado team was playing an 0-1 Nebraska team at noon and got the coverage that game got?
  10. Texas vs Bama topped the TV ratings last week w a 8.8 million viewers. Guess who came in second for a game between two unranked teams at noon? Nebraska's loss at Colorado was seen by quite a few people last Saturday. The Fox network has announced that 8.73 million viewers turned in to see the Huskers fall to the Buffaloes by a score of 36-14.
  11. Hahah. It reads like it was translated into Cantonese, then back into English. Here are some gems: "Handing Alabama the first home double-digit loss of Nick Saban's college coaching career led to The Eyes of Texas playing at the end of the game instead of whatever it is the Crimson Tide have become accustomed to hearing at that time." What? "Arkansas fans were in a confusion position even before the game." I'm in a confusion position. "A lot of folks hate both of them, but probably the majority has a stronger dislike of burnt orange than crimson red, even though they have beating the Horns twice since they last beat the Tide in 2006." Someone will have to explain what this means to me. "The Sooners won't play any SEC teams this year, but it's probably a good bet they are preparing their teams for the league. Don't base a 2024 projection on what these teams are doing now. That even goes for the Hogs." Glad he cleared that up.
  12. Fair point about the cameras rolling. Of course, it's in his interest to make his new team like him. My NY Jets fan told me today he thinks they are cursed.
  13. He has always seemed like a jerk and his anti-vaxx crap was disingenuous, at best. ("I've been immunized" — whatever) That said, I liked him more after watching him on Hard Knocks. He truly seemed to be trying to help the other QB's get better. Favre bragged about not helping Rogers when he was the backup, so maybe that experience helped him understand what it feels like to have someone senior to you treating you in a shitty way.
  14. His press conference is seven minutes of glory. I highly recommend it if, like me, you revel in his repeated humiliation. He also said Miami had an advantage by bringing in extra blitzers but his team couldn't get sacks because A&M did not. That seems to be throwing his defensive coach under the bus.
  15. Haha, no, but I did get to catch a pass from him, which was really fun.
