  1. How about him? He'll be available soon:
  2. I don't think the Mike Leach/Tech situation is as comparable as people are making it seem. In that case, you had a Tweet allegation from a player that he later backed off of when he had to go on the record. There was no photos or video. To @immamac's point, we have a head coach handcuffed/in prison garb appearing before a judge. True, the woman backed off from her original allegations, but with so much focus on domestic violence, people are skeptical when a victim walks back her complaints. One thing I do know is that is that dumbass Beard has pretty much placed the university in an unwinnable situation. Cut him or keep him; either way it will suck.
  3. On the plus side, I really like the way the Horns put a stranglehold on OU's offense. We choked off their outlet passes, and pressed them til they didn't have room to breath. By holding their guards in a tight headlock, we cut off their passages to the basket. Their emergency call to the bench to try to police the baseline made sense, but I doubt their calls for charging will hold up with the Big 12 rules committee.
  4. Expect Xavier transfer news to drop soon.
  5. Has Xavier Worthy transfer news dropped yet?
  6. After the first quarter, we switched to Emily in Paris Season 3. Here is what you missed: WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Emily is so conflicted about whether to join Sylvie at her new firm or stay with old boss Madeline that she somehow ends up working for both, which can never end well. She also still has feelings for Gabriel (duh), but for now has chosen Alfie. So what else is in store? After Madeline returns to Chicago w her baby, Emily rejoins the French marketing company and does a magnificent job of landing accounts, even bringing back the big fashion brand, as it turns out the handsome son of the owner is friends w Emily's roommate, Mindy, from boarding school. Speaking of Mindy, her busking success lands her a gig at a jazz club and she eventually breaks up with her increasingly jealous boyfriend! I, for one, was glad to see him leave! While things w Alfie are going smooth, Gabriel's hot girlfriend has a lesbian affair, and it's clear Gabriel and Emily still have feelings for each other. How will it all end? WIll Emily stay w thoughtful Alfie, or go for her true love, Gabriel? Will the marketing firm make it? WIll Gabriel's girlfriend return? As always, the outfits are fabulous, the dialog witty, and Paris never looked better. All-in-all, a much better use of your time than watching a glorified scrimmage.
  7. Can he suit up for tonight's Alamo Bowl?
  8. True, the results have been disappointing so far. However, I assume transfers can come in throughout the off-season.
  9. Isn't UNC the school that signed up their players to take fake, non-existent classes for years. Yeah, that's pretty cool.
  10. One of my daughters just graduated from Duke, so I've spent a lot of time on the campus over the last four years. While I'm sure the Duke community will be very concerned about your post, I feel confident they will somehow survive your declarations and continue to be one of the top tier basketball programs in the nation.
  11. "I'm not ready to say Duke is first tier until I see someone other than K have some success." Your words, bro. For someone who purports to follow basketball, that sure seems like a strange comment.
  12. Oh, okay, thanks for clearing that up. Maybe attend a game there, visit their basketball museum, experience the tenting, see how their community revolves around the games, the atmosphere around a UNC game, etc, and then get back to us.
  13. Thnx. Admins have no control over what kids share on their phones, although they can certainly punish individuals if they can prove that the content was shared on school grounds. In another case, the school did give out punishment for some dumb kid's inappropriate costume at a Halloween party at a private home on a weekend. In my mind, this is overstepping a school's authority. The kid that did that had his acceptance letter to a major university withdrawn. I do hope those rotten young men suffered actual legal punishment in some way. That girl played sports w one of my daughters and she was a nice person.
  14. I don't know why anyone associated w the school should have been fired. That took place off-campus on a weekend in a private home.
  15. Well, that makes sense, and I am glad for you. It seems like people who are high-achievers, like Beard, often have messy personal lives. Perhaps the price of being completely devoted to his success was to not have time for a personal life. Still, damn, seems like he could have found someone more compatible and presentable than Trew. A great partner can help you go farther.
  16. When I watch the exhausting gyrations our divorced friends have to go through to keep up with the children they share joint custody of, it makes me wonder. If they knew then what they know now about how hopelessly complicated their lives have become, would they still want to go ahead and get divorced? I wonder if Coach Beard was thinking, "what has become of me," while he was being booked into the the Travis County Jail. He could have been spending this holiday season with his (former) wife and children, instead of being involved in this ugly legal mess. Life is complex and I certainly don't know why his marriage didn't work out, but surely their marriage had to be preferable to being assaulted and then retaliating to a woman that, IMHO, doesn't seem like such a great catch. And to be completely shallow, I think his (former) wife is way better looking.
  17. Yes, I'm sure both communities suffer from the same insanity. Everyone's son is going to be an NFL QB, especially if the dads can coach them in Pop Warner. Fortunately, after "Daddyball," the system weeds out the inferior players.
  18. That is true. Our school district ditched an abusive coach and it never made the news. He was also not a great coach.* Trew had just taken her HS volleyball team to their deepest round of the playoffs, which is usually considered a good thing, and then she resigned, which is odd. Of course, she may have resigned to follow Beard to Texas, but who truly knows? I am no way claiming she is or is not abusive, and she certainly didn't "deserve" to be assaulted. Just wanted to learn more. *In our district, it's the parents who are the most crazy. My wife is an admin. The stuff they have pulled over the years is truly mind-bending.
