  1. If you can afford it, it's affordable.
  2. Ken Onion Worksharp. Watch YT and practice on a shitty knife first.
  3. I use Tmo wireless Internet as a backup failover for Cox. Tmo gives me roughly 90/20 speed and roughly 40ms ping. Cox is about 20ms latency. Speeds will definitely differ by area, and with 5g it will differ even from house to house. Tmo gives you a 14day trial period, I suggest you just sign up and try it out. Tangent, Tmo has great plan pricing for people aged 55+. They aren't very publicized. If someone in your household is over 55, have them get a plan and move other family members onto it - supplemental members don't need to be 55+. I'm not sure how many supplemental members are allowed on a 55+ plan, at least 2.
  4. I have a bunch of DeBuyer carbon steel, really like it.
  5. Little silicone props to hold pot lids partially open. More a gimmick gift than anything. The Victorinox white handled kitchen knives get top ratings all the time, and are staple in any commercial kitchen. They're cheap, and go on sale frequently. That said, I hate them for home use. Too light, shitty balance, grips feel like shit. They're intended to be a commercial workhorse product and that's exactly what they are. I've given away each one I've tried, and I've tried many. For a bargain knife, I'd recommend Yaxell and Enso, both are no-name brands that manufacture in Japan using good steel. The Yaxell Mon for $70 has been quite a pleasant surprise, nice fit and finish, and the metal holds an edge really well. You can see from my pic I have zero brand loyalty, and crap knives get given away quickly - those two brands have held their spots in the drawer against a fair number of more expensive knives.
  6. I've tried about every knife holder on the market, and the Wusthof wood in a drawer are what I settled on.
  7. Do you have the title to that car?
  8. Ship them. Every distillery does that for tourists/visitors all the time.
  9. I read this as "various neighborhood females" and was wondering why you were complaining.
  10. Dealer called and told us the car needed a new engine air filter and would we like them to replace it while they had it? No. The car has 4000 miles and this is the first oil change on it. Service advisor backed down instantly when he overheard my brother yell "are you fucking kidding me" in the background.
  11. How is that negative news? Severance money goes into the economy and circulates! People get money and a new job, it's a win win!
  12. I, on the other hand, still have my 1998 Land Cruiser.
  13. The two of you should stop doing this, it is idiotic and dangerous.
  14. Not even a humblebrag, just a brag.
  15. Got it. Putting a limit sell on my UUUU at $300.
  16. Sounds like they made up for it.
  17. Diminished value the easiest way to fight is hire an independent appraiser who will send a market analysis. Example, Collision Damage Consultants, rates are on their site. Almost always gets you more than their fee. No affiliation and no firsthand experience, just seen their testimonials a lot.
  18. Wait. You tried to carry a fully loaded medical bag on? And you expected TSA to blindly let it through?? This is completely on you. Pre 911 I carried tool sets and calipers/measurement equipment on every time. Post 911 I check all that shit in, after getting questioned about calipers one too many times.
  19. What are your thoughts about contractors and their trailers being near a driveway?
