A lot of teachers haven't used technology or taught online before and it showed. You've gotta use the technology to your advantage. Have them write responses, pose questions for them to respond to and discuss. Lecture at the beginning of the week on zoom and give them assignments that actually are meaningful and somewhat rigorous for them. I had them keep quarantine journals and then write about what their experience was like and to not hold back and it was nice to hear their actual feelings during this unfiltered. I even had them do relevant group projects. They know how to communicate with each other. Allow them to. Pretty sure teachers would be already drinking and shit when they're supposed to be actually teaching. Whatever. I'm all about evolving and getting better as a teacher no matter the circumstances. Many are stuck in their ways. I don't care if we are in person or virtual next year I will figure out ways to keep students engaged and learning.
I got a little emotional watching her come into her own knowing her struggles and her past appearances. Stephanie or Melissa winning will be completely awesome.
We're still bashing Kaepernick who lost his job for trying to bring awareness on a national platform to black people constantly being killed by the police and the institutions of power allowing it to happen?
Playing baseball and fishing all summer. I'd give anything to go back to those days just me and my cousin both 11 or 12 by ourselves on a boat on our uncle's lake all fucking day without a care in the world and zero adult supervision. Good times. Just a little north of Salina, KS.
Two things: I love it how that one chick got her arm eaten off and just comes back to work five days later and there's so many crazier things that happened that we barely even mention it. And the fact that Joe's former husband is in prison for murder and it's pretty much no big deal and never brought up.
I'm reading A Stillness at Appomattox right now. Just got done with The Fiery Trial: Abraham Lincoln and American Slavery by Eric Foner. It was really really good. Probably reread Battle Cry of Freedom next.
Six Feet Under is really underrated on these lists. Totally unique and terrific drama. The Leftovers was a masterpiece. Mad Men was terrific for four seasons and then was not near as good for the last three. The Americans absolutely belongs. Great from start to finish.
Been plowing through Below Deck Med and their version of Kate is worse in a lot of ways but hot as shit. And Sandy is way too involved in the day to day operations of the crew rather than allowing them to run it.
So are we talking bout Netflix's "Love is blind" as well on here? Cause Jessica is absolute batshit and Tank girl is fine af but also completely crazy and gold digging.
