  1. Players are so fucking dumb when it comes to every player vote.
  2. Duh. The Biden overhang is expected to last 3 years. ...unless something good happens.
  3. 100%. Boston's not scared of New York whatsoever. And they've been down in a playoff series many, many times with that core. They know if they even shoot below average from 3, they almost certainly win. OKC is a young team playing the best player in the world, now knowing they have to win at least one game in Denver.
  4. Every time I read an Helobious post, I get a hearty chuckle when I remember that he's in his mid-to-late 30's. Then I'm deeply saddened when I realize that perpetually online, self-important dorks and trolls who never grew up effectively control the world.
  5. Sadly, for our simpleton, reality TV watching society, yes. Being abrasive, insulting, and repeating simple phrases--lest the listener feel dumb or think the speaker is too uppity--makes you a real Martin Luther King these days.
  6. The secret should be out that Trump is a paper tiger and there's no detriment to going right at him, minus an angry, stupid tweet.
  7. Shaq asking Jamal Murray while he's celebrating a huge win what he's going to say to himself after a 6-16 performance when he knows the team needs more from him to win... WTF? Like Murray was James Harden out there. Shaq sucks at this.
  8. OKC is probably still going to win this series, but tonight is why the notion of anyone other than Jokic as the real MVP is highly suspect. And that's not a knock against SGA. Jokic is just on another planet when it comes to putting a team on his back. Dude's bringing it for 48 minutes.
  9. Old Russ would have gone straight to the basket for a flailing, "maybe they'll call a foul" layup attempt.
  10. Man, if Denver could just get anything from MPJ or a bench player not named Russ, this could be a real series.
  11. To be ever-so-slightly fair to Harden, it looks like something in the realm of a third of those low FGM games are from his time in OKC, coming off the bench on a team making annual deep playoff runs. Obviously, LeBron, Steph, and KD were never bench players, nor were they immediately playing playoff basketball as rookies and young players.
  12. To this point, would you rather be remembered as one of the greatest offensive players in league history...but quite possibly the biggest choke artist in professional sports* with a weakness for the strip club lunch menu? Or, as a super flawed dude who also never won anything (other than an MVP) but played his ass off--good or bad--every time he touched the court who was generally beloved by teammates? It's tough. *Passing along some numbers that popped up on my socials: Career playoff games with under 4 FG made: Harden - 35 LeBron - 5 Steph - 3 KD - 2 Career playoff games with under 5 FG made: Harden - 55 LeBron - 9 Steph - 8 KD - 4 Career playoff games with as many turnovers as FGM: Harden - 42 LeBron - 17 Steph - 13 KD - 7 jesus christo
  13. Better player, I agree, it's still easily Harden. But whose career and legacy I'd prefer?
  14. Better career: Harden or Russ? I think I lean Russ. Never thought I'd say that 3, 4, 5 years ago.
  15. His patience has to be wearing thin. You can argue that Max drove a near perfect weekend*, and he finished out of the points in the Sprint because of Red Bull's fuck up, and off the podium after a masterful pole. *his one "error" was not letting Lando through easier, knowing it was inevitable. While great television, it allowed Mercedes to catch up to him enough where something like a virtual safety car could--and did--fuck him over.
  16. Yeah, that was rushed as fuck and felt out of place (along with the "I'm pregnant, now let's fuck" moment). It went from "I guess I do like girls more" to "we're going to spend the rest of our lives together raising a family" in like 3 seconds. I imagine the game gives that relationship more time to breath--and probably a few more near death encounters to experience.
  17. ...for about 250 prisoners.
  18. On paper, Minnesota is a pretty good matchup for Golden State. While Minnesota is good on defense, they aren't going to be nearly as physical as Houston, especially when it comes to guarding Steph. I doubt they ask ANT to chase him for any significant length of time. After the past two weeks, Steph is going to be able to breath a little. Draymond sure as shit isn't intimidated by Gobert, and they're going to put Rudy in so many actions 30 feet from the basket. BUT Minnesota is so hot right now and oozing confidence. If Randle, McDaniels, and Reid shoot like they have been, Golden State just doesn't have the offense to keep up. Realistically, it's probably simple: if Ant is consistently the best player on the court, Minnesota should win pretty comfortably. If Steph can pull out another 3-4 transcendent performances, it's going to be a battle.
  19. It's one thing to not like the show anymore without Joel--to each his own, that's fine--but imagine being so fucking miserable and easily triggered that it's a "shameful push of gender politics" because two girls happen to like each other on TV.
  20. Nice series, Houston. Fuck you, Dillon Brooks.
  21. Ok, I'm just reading between the lines here. He wants Alcatraz to be reopened, and he wants more American movies. Someone call Nic Cage; the President wants to watch The Rock 2. Maybe the first time I've ever been eye to eye with Trump.
  22. Game 7 nerves for Houston early. This series has got to be the most zone defense I've ever seen in the NBA Playoffs. Just daring dudes not named Curry or Van Vleet to shoot.
  23. Huge for Piastri to get past Kimi before giving Max a chance to create a gap.
