  1. Marginal Rapists would not make a good band name.
  2. Say what you will about today's NBA, but it's pretty cool to see a home crowd going crazy at the end of a 14-3 run to see their team pull within [checks notes] 20, feeling like they still have a decent chance to pull this one out...which they do.
  3. For sure. Minnesota banked on becoming the best defense in the league (or close to it), Rudy not being a situational liability in the playoffs, their existing roster being good/deep enough, and Ant making the leap to transcendent superstar. If all those things came to fruition, no one would miss the draft picks or think they paid too much. Pretty easy to be skeptical with Minnesota's history and the completely disastrous first year of the experiment that culminated in Gobert punching his own teammate during a game. But it's currently hard to argue that most of those things are progressing as planned or better at this point.
  4. And to his extreme credit, Rudy has dramatically improved his versatility as a defender. The days of playing him off the court are over. You can't just pull him out of the paint, isolate him in space, and put him on skates anymore.
  5. This pains me to say, but Rudy Gobert's work to become comfortable guarding the perimeter has been incredibly impressive and noticeable.
  6. This thread very much explains the creepiness in the Movies/TV forum whenever there's a show with an adult actress portraying a 14 year old.
  7. He's going to have a weird legacy, that's for sure.
  8. Not quite as embarrassing and franchise crushing as when Luka adopted Booker, but it's right up there. Where the fuck do they go from here?
  9. Damn, Suns somehow suck even worse than I thought.
  10. You guys don't make fun of texags and "aggys" solely because of their values and opinions. You make fun of them because they arrived at those beliefs by being some of the most persecution complex, afraid of their own shadow, delusional, conformation bias, unintellectually curious mother fuckers on the planet. No, universities should not encourage "that sort of thing".
  11. We do this every year. Miami is a really, really tough out every single year without fail, regardless of seeding. They were the only team to win a game in Denver in last year's playoffs. Obviously, Boston struggles to match their intesity game in and game out. But I'd still favor the Celtics over any team not defending their championship.
  12. Hasn't he basically been a shut in for over a decade, amplified to 11 in 2020? But I'm only passing along what I've casually overheard/read, so I know jack shit about what I'm talking about and will shut up now. Delete user.
  13. That's fair. I'm certainly no Howard Stern historian, but I thought it was pretty widely known that he's gone off the deep end a little since COVID and his political leanings aren't exactly subtle. If the remaining audience is broader than I'm giving them credit for, all good. Nothing wrong with a relatively "safe" interview.
  14. By getting interviewed by one of the most removed and protected individuals on the planet?
  15. Huh. Did someone not tell his media team that Howard isn't exactly popular among the young folks anymore?
  16. Only the second time in 20 years (2021) that neither LeBron or Steph have won a playoff series. End of an era. One team is probably going to rebuild; the other team should, but can't/won't.
  17. Not sure there's a smoother, more effortless looking scorer in the league (not named Durant) than Michael Porter.
  18. I mean they're not getting swept, so they're winning tomorrow.
  19. Stupid lib. Football only because boring once black guys starting kneeling for the national anthem that we all used to totally always watch beginning to end.
  20. Kinda where I'm at. What are the chances he ends up back in OKC in the next year or two? At least 40% yeah?
  21. I hate this world. No one anywhere should know what/who a "Crackhead Barney" is.
  22. Apologies, forgot that Allen and Jordan did actually play together during Durant's injury year. But the writing was in the wall that they weren't going to re-sign Allen when they brought in Jordan for 4 years at KD's behest. Allen was getting traded in 2020 with or without Harden. They obviously weren't going to commit $30M to centers in 2021. Beal cost them any and all reasonable mechanisms to acquire quality depth now and in the future. Not exactly a controversial take. Which would be fine if a core of KD/Booker/Beal could be legit championship contenders. But they're not. They gave up a haul and destroyed their cap flexibility for a C-tier star.
  23. How many numbers does that dude have? All of them?
