  1. Yeah, lots to dislike Bryson over, but Rose talking shit to a caddy who made a simple mistake is bush league and lame. Good on Bryson to have his guy's back.
  2. I've never given a single neg here or any variation of shaggy, but you're fucking pushing it!
  3. Hard to dismiss it as coincidence when 6 of the 7 guys* who didn't play any foursomes don't play Titleist. And I agree, it probably has more to do with weird sponsorship shit than pros being unable to adjust. Also, none of those guys anyone would categorize as huge difference makers, so the ball stuff probably just made the pairing decisions easier. Sam Burns playing with Scottie Scheffler wasn't saving us. *The 7th is Rose, and I'm guessing they just didn't want him to have to play 36 holes a day
  4. If anyone didn't expect Bryson/Scottie to be the huge underdogs to Rose/Fleetwood, they don't watch much Ryder Cup.
  5. Xander (Callaway)/Cantlay and Morikawa (TaylorMade)/English (lulz) were the only American foursome pairs who don't both normally play some variation of the Pro V1. Guessing they used Titleist in those matches because every pro knows what their baseline Pro V1 numbers are from the driving range. Burns, Griffin, and Spaun are the only others that play non-Titleist balls, and they were not asked to participate in foursomes. Unknown if it was because of the ball, or just not being good enough. For the Euros, only Rahm (Callaway) played in foursomes with someone who uses a different ball manufacturer than him. Rory and Fleetwood both use TaylorMade. Straka, Lowry, and Hojgaard don't play Titleist and didn't play foursomes.
  6. Holes 6-7 of the Scottie/Bryson match are the only holes in any of the afternoon matches that have had a red flag displayed. Cool stuff.
  7. Then just crushing a burrito in the fairway.
  8. Justin Rose is a bad man.
  9. Raising your arms up and down is so much easier though.
  10. Yep, our best and richest haven't been particularly good at this shit in a long time.
  11. Nothing screams team unity and enthusiasm like [checks notes] Phil Mickelson. Wut? Ah ok, you're trolling. Not bad.
  12. Once you change your perspective and start rooting for a 21-7 outcome, this becomes a lot more fun to watch.
  13. I like golf, but this is so true. Golf bro culture has really taken over the sport. My waking nightmare is having to attend a tournament in person and be surrounded by a bunch of "golf is my only personality trait" chubby dudes yelling "Mashed potatoes!" after every tee shot.
  14. Put Rahm back in the PGA, and like 8 of my top 10 guys I tune in to watch aren't American. Fair or not, but it's hard not to see the most American players as cookie cutter golf bros.
  15. Incredibly succinct and precise summary.
  16. $100 says it was because Burns doesn't play a Titleist ball. In a game of inches where these guys know there distance and spin +/- one yard and 50 RPM, I get it. But such a weird thing that keeps us from fielding the best foursome teams.
  17. 19-9 is definitely in play.
  18. "Treating people with the upmost respect"...truly Trump's calling card.
  19. How fucking lucky did we get that they at least got matched up against what's essentially an unbeatable team again to minimize the damage.
  20. I wish Bradley had picked himself to play, so he could be out there getting his ass kicked.
  21. You were right, and I was wrong. And I was a dick about it. Memories from '23 made me think foursomes is our problem. Nope, session 2 is where we typically get smoked.
  22. Just what we need...more golf bros.
