  1. People who legitimately think that the NBA Draft is rigged are dumb. Straight up.
  2. So how do you figure it played out? "Okay, Nico, if you trade Luka to the Lakers, we'll gift wrap you the #1 pick. But you have to avoid the playoffs outright. Luckily, AD will probably get hurt in his first game as a Mav. If that's not enough to plummet down the standings, maybe Kyrie will suffer a season ending injury to be safe. Then we'll let you beat a shit team like, say, Sacramento in the play-in to not make it seem too obvious. But have your team totally quit in the 2nd play-in game. Got it?" "Yes, sir, Mr. Silver."
  3. "What's that?" "You say what starts here changes absolutely nothing?" "Oh." "Ah well, nevertheless."
  4. After Season 1 aired, out of anticipation, I watched a handful of Last of Us 2 cutscenes. I distinctly remember that, "I stumbled upon your perfectly labeled map and was able to easily ascertain where you were headed next" occurred more than once. So cant really blame the show on that one. I don't know about you, but whenever I spend hours charting out the roads of a major metropolitan area during an apocalypse, I never take that map with me because I'm not worried that zombies, cultists, or militia could possibly force me to deviate from my critical path.
  5. That's the funny part to me. Had the Lakers been able to offer AD AND Flagg 3 months ago for Luka, I think every GM in the league except for Nico still says no (though, they'd definitely at least have a meeting to discuss it).
  6. Not that it matters now with Tatum done, but Kristaps being limited severely hindered them. He's the closest thing to a change of pace that they have. But that's pretty much the story of his career.
  7. Kyrie can (and probably will) opt out in a few weeks in search of more money. Does Nico back up the Brinks truck for the only Maverick who can create his own shot to pair with, potentially, the best frontcourt in the league?
  8. I get that Dallas isn't exactly riding high as a franchise right now, but there are like a half dozen much worse places to be that he was far more likely to land at. Ain't no one wants to be a Wizard.
  9. Kyrie on a bum knee is gonna get all the money. No way Nico doesn't trick himself into win now mode.
  10. Such is life when you have an embarrassment of riches!
  11. Man, Giannis being available might have been an important piece of information to wait for for a defensive-minded GM who isn't a particularly big fan of his franchise player.
  12. I think the scout team was from years ago, and the interrogation with Park's mother was a flashback. They mention that Isaac is out investigating a potential breech of the cease fire between WLF and the Scars during the interrogation. There sure as shit ain't no cease fire in place when Ellie comes to town. A little clunky and needlessly confusing.
  13. If it saves me from an extra two weeks of the oh-so-interesting season long topic du jour, "Is JaYsOn TaTuM a SuPeRsTaR?!?!" I'm in.
  14. I love this gif. Like try to imagine Tim Duncan giving that look to a player that he had even the tiniest modicum of respect for. You can't.
  15. One gripe that I had with the episode was the scout team to the hospital basement realizing they're fucked, having the wherewithal to order that they be sealed in, but not painting the walls with each other's brain stems, thus dooming themselves to a horrible existence. I understand breaking some in show rules in order to create a visually cool or disturbing scene, but offing yourself and/or others when you realize that you're infected is THE rule of zombie movies/shows/games.
  16. Yep, no problem with that at all. The alternative is the truth: "We built a good regular season team...again...and the moment was too big for them...again."
  17. He's an asshole, but his personality type is holding that leaky ship together. It would be a free-for-all without him.
  18. Yeah, wasn't terrible last night. Her portraying a hardened survivalist and a killer is a bit of a stretch, but she channeled crazy, deranged, and self-destructive well enough.
  19. I don't think I could live in a country where Donald Trump gets to be a fucking martyr. I'd think I'd honestly prefer that he destroys the economy and almost the entire country, so his legacy resembles the loser that he is than having my kids live their entire lives hearing about this great man who died too soon (and, some would say, suspiciously). But, in this timeline, we'll get the worst possible outcome. He'll destroy the country, live to 110, AND somehow have commemorative statues in over half the states.
  20. Yeah, really good premise that they did nothing with. For a show that's obviously not afraid to go political, felt like they played it safe (and boring).
  21. Yikes. There have been plenty of bad episodes, but I don't think I've ever not laughed at a single sketch.
  22. I'm sorry, Cleveland. This is my fault.
