  1. A lot of people would love Jon Stewart to run. Just sayin. Jon Stewart and Tucker Carlson has virtually nothing in common. Keith Olbermann is a more apt comparison. Just full blown propagandists.
  2. Horner's accuser just got suspended by F1. That's interesting.
  3. A pretty obvious statement, but Dallas is never going to win anything of note until Luka at least starts trying on that end. Like Dirk, he'll never be a good defender, but Dirk eventually realized the importance of making a real effort on defense as the leader of the team. This was always the biggest risk pairing Luka with Kyrie. Their two best players want nothing to do with defense.
  4. I mean, yes? They might not be favored, but they can absolutely win it all. Tatum's playoff issues have been an easy punching bag, but he'd already be an NBA champ if Steph didn't go nuclear in Game 4. And this Boston team is much better than that one. No more Smart, added Holiday and Kristaps, White becoming one of the most effective players in the league. Probably the best starting 5 in basketball. Sure, when push comes to shove, I'm taking the team with the best player on the planet, but it's not a foregone conclusion.
  5. This could be the oddest sentence fragment I've ever read on Surly. As opposed to?
  6. Lose to Boston by 52, beat Milwaukee by 35. Regular season basketball is dumb.
  7. I can only assume that you guys aren't watching the previews for next week segments? Not a lot of room for interpretation with what they imply she's doing.
  8. Yeah, someone hasn't been to Australia in a little while. Also, pretty funny the concern is wokeness run amok when the last Baywatch content we received was two hours of dick jokes and chicks purposely bouncing their tits and slapping their asses, and no one cared. Obviously, if it's on network TV, it's going to suck regardless of how gratuitous they try to make it.
  9. I have two kids, so I begrudgingly have a Costco card and occasional go myself when I can't trade chores with my wife to make her go. Nothing on this earth sucks the humanity out of me like a trip to a busy Costco. Walmart is at least occasionally entertaining and makes for good people watching. Costco just collects the most oblivious, uninteresting, zero peripheral vision having mother fuckers in the country. They could make those lanes as wide as a football field, and you're still getting cut off and stuck behind someone slowly meandering between sample stations.
  10. Fair. I can maybe be convinced that the sum of 'MAGA' + 'reliable R voters no matter what' is slightly smaller than the sum of 'traditional R voters' + 'right leaning independents and suburbanites' + 'people who don't want to vote for an 81 year old'. But no one is winning this election in a breeze.
  11. You're crazy, man. Even if MAGA is, god willing, a much smaller contingent than we think, you're looking at something in the range of 25-35 million Trump voters who would NEVER vote for the uppity bitch that stood up to him. They'd either not vote and return to their lives as disillusioned assholes with no voice (please, please, please), write in Trump's name as tribute, or vote Biden as a "fuck you" to the GOP that betrayed their deity. The GOP's actions over the last 7 years are that of a group who has come to the realization that they can no longer win nationally without the MAGA vote.
  12. ^^^ with the acknowledgement that Klepper is purposely seeking out the most mind-numbingly frustrating, contradictory, shit-logic people on the planet for the lulz.
  13. Over/under on Truth Social posts tonight? I'm setting the line at 37.5.
  14. Guys, is it gay to make women orgasm in a variety of ways and not just have them "take care of it themselves" after you roll over?
  15. And three of those words were "natty", which makes his entire post invalid.
  16. Dynasty about the New England Patriots is really good. It's been so long, I forgot how cold-blooded Belichick was with Bledsoe, their $100M quarterback. I didn't think that Bledsoe was healthy until the very end of 2001--when the team was winning at a high level Brady--but he was medically cleared when the Patriots were 5-5 (5-3 with Tom starting). The coaches--none of them with any skins on the wall--saw in the film that an aging Bledsoe was starting to see ghosts in the pocket, even before the injury, and Belichick announced that Brady would remain the starter the rest of the year. Would have cost him his job if it went sideways. The same arrogance that convinced him that they could move on from Brady once he started to show signs of happy feet his last couple of years in NE. The episode about Aaron Hernandez was well done too. I've never heard Patriot players open up like that about it before. Brandon Lloyd, when he joined the team and got the locker next to Hernandez, recalling Wes Welker taking him aside and warning him that Hernandez is going to fondle his junk in front of him and talk about bathing with his mother...and, whatever he does, he HAS to ignore it. Also never knew that Hernandez went to Bill and told him the his fiancee and daughter would be in danger if he stayed near Bristol, and asked to be traded to the west coast to be as far away from his hometown friends as possible. Bill said no, of course, because football.
  17. A Boston/Denver Finals would be fucking awesome.
  18. Need to break out that NBA running clock.
  19. I was thinking this morning that this would have been a perfect "swallow your pride and rest your stars because your not going to win anyway" game. Save your energy for the fellow also rans that you need to be at full strength to beat, and don't risk the mental reminder that you're not close to the elite anymore. Oops, too late.
  20. Dude, give it a rest man. They're are plenty of other places on this board to not-so-subtly point out how laughable it is that a large swath of Texas aligns politically with texags. Everyone gets it already.
  21. I always love when the loud as fuck minority trick themselves into believing that they're actually the silent majority. Keep fighting the good fight, little buddy!
  22. I said the same thing last year, but just give me a dozen races where Max at least has to discuss things like "undercut" and "over cut" with his team, even if he still wins. Right now, they don't even need a strategy. If he's not in the lead on lap 1, he will be by lap 5, then he can pit whenever he wants, have a slow stop not hurt him, use whatever tire he wants, go for a fast lap whenever he wants, pull over and acquire nachos whenever he wants...
