  1. Someone who lives in an HOA that regulates minimum square footage and which way the garage faces.
  2. What he lacks in self confidence he makes up for in self awareness.
  3. I don’t understand why the Texans haven’t made developing and protecting CJ the number one priority. Upgrading the oline isn’t just about allocation of resources and balancing the strengths of the team, it’s about allowing cj to reach his full potential.
  4. jimmyjazz is clearly riding dirty and doesn’t want to give the cops any reason to pull him over. smart man.
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I’m a big believer that some pieces of wood come together better than others, and this bass is one of those. So I’m not super concerned about cost, but I will happily keep it as is, instead of buying a new neck, if this turns out to be some quixotic project.
  6. Anybody have a guesstimate of how much it would cost to install pearl blocks on a maple fretboard? I’m in Austin and would also appreciate recommendations for someone to do the work.
  7. That tracks. The movies I remember seeing there are Hands on a Hardbody, BWP, Wad (a John Holmes documentary featuring Ron Jeremy as the voice of reason) and Lost in Translation.
  8. The tourists eating the monkey brain in a restaurant is the most fucked up thing I’ve ever seen. If you’ve seen that scene, you know I’m leaving out a lot.
  9. When I was 9 my Dad rented A Clockwork Orange for my older brother to watch, and I wound up watching it. I didn’t scare me, but was insanely fucked up to 9 yo destroya.

    RIP Brian Wilson

The world, and mine, is a better place because of him.
  14. We didn’t know it at the time, but that was the best thing that could have happened to us. Guy turned out to be a bust, whose playing career and recruiting dipshittery were one and the same. Meanwhile, our back up plan in that class turned out to be another generational QB.

  17. My first thought is they hope he’s their Eltife: Alum and well respected former legislator. And both are low key as far as politicians go. He’s not going to burn as hot as Sharp and will be more likely to hire good people and get out of their way. And I don’t think Hegar will sacrifice everything at the altar of athletics, which may be his undoing.
  18. I think it’s a #brohio thing
  19. I read it last summer and didn’t use any support materials or read the footnotes; liked it but I’m sure I only caught about half of it. I’ve also read ASFT… and thought it was great. I’m now reading Oblivion, a short story collection. The multi-page paragraphs are a beating, but that’s kinda the point.

Take it back 10 years, and I’d put their body of work up against any other American band over the past 30 years. I wonder if they would have been able to maintain such a consistently creative output if they had broken through. The ‘critically acclaimed but under appreciated’ niche has been really good to them.
