  1. Think it's hard, wait till you play double board bomb pots with ultimate high/ultimate low. Hand the other night with the boards: 238QA 238KT Two players get it all in and flip their hands over. Both have A4 for a low. One has nut flush on the top. Dealer chops up with the guy with the flush getting 3/4. Player 1 had A46xx, player 2 A4kqj Player one actually had the best low, because he had A2346 on the top board, while the second guy was playing 12348 from the bottom board. They go review the tape and make player 2 give player 1 $125. What's really funny on these bomb pots is when one board is 346 and the other board is A23. A guy with 45 is playing A2345 on the bottom and the person with A2 is playing A2346 on the top. I've won a couple of hands because of this. One lady argued with the dealer for 10 minutes that her A2 was lower than my 45. She was fucking livid the rest of the night.
  2. Only $499.95 fuck, buy 2!
  3. Only in the US, they will still make them and send to the Middle East, like they do with the FJ.
  4. Played big o at shuffle again tonight. Two decent players, one kinda bad and one awful player. Bought in for $300, could not get cards and just drifted between $200-$400. Then another guy shows up and it's his first time playing big o live and he was really, really bad. He of course dumps his first buy in to the one of the decent players. He goes away for a bit and then comes back reeking of pot and $500 in chips. I had $300 so I buy in for $200 more. He ends up dumping a bunch of chips to the other awful player and I finally start getting some cards at the end and stacked the guy he dumped to 3 times in about 20 minutes. Best stacking was when I had 22566 and he raised preflop and I called. Flop is 344, he bets, I call. I think to myself I really could use an ace so I have a wheel. Bink Ace He checks, I pot, he calls. I think to myself, man a 6 here would be cool. Bink 6. I pot he calls, he spends a few minutes staring at his cards, mumbling and finally mucks. Few hands later I get AAKQ5 double suited. I raise $25 preflop, everyone calls, he makes it $100, I pot it and everyone folds but him and he's all in. Board runs out Q5T97, I lay down my hand and announce 2 pair. He spends the next 3 minutes looking back and forth between his hand and the board, lays down 75 in front of him, mumbles I guess my two pair no good, spends another minute looking back and forth and finally mucks his hand. End up winning $470 on the night. Not bad for 3 hours of work.
  5. Played an underground big o game last night and won $400. I think I’ve come to the realization I need the non verbal cues people give me to win. I’ve been getting killed online.
  6. People from Austin have gone up there and tried to get into that game and they have not let them play, even though there was an empty seat.
  7. lol I know most of the people at that table
  8. So like all of circle C is fair game? Golf course, people's yards, etc?
  9. Last year: "We are never going to allow camping in parks" This year: "Let's open up all the parks to camping!"
  10. Played live for the first time since COVID started. Played big o at shuffle 512. Game was the softest I’ve seen in almost 2 years. Several outright bad players, a few weak tight and a few calling stations. Just about the perfect mix. started with $300 ended with this
  11. Had a coworker from Houston who happened to be in Denver when the oilers were in town so he got a ticket and went to the game. He was warned not to be an ass at the game so he wore neutral colors and didn't cheer. A few rows ahead of him some chick was decked out in baby blue and was cheering on the oilers. Some dude came from a section over, punched her in the face and knocked her out. The whole section cheered and no cop or security ever came by.
  12. Sand is going to get into everything no matter what so don't take anything that you don't want covered in sand. At least at North Padre it's windy as fuck. Be prepared for that. Stoves are hard to light, tents and anything light will get blown away if not tied down. A few six inch spikes into sand is not going to keep a tent in place. Need coolers or boxes to keep it down. I bought a few of these: Plano storage boxes, available at acadamy, cabella's or amazon. They come in different sizes and stack nicely. I take one for truck stuff like tow ropes and trailer hitches, one for food related items, and one for bedding stuff. Use these boxes to weigh down tents. Take a table of some sort. You can't put anything on the ground or it's going to get sand on/in it. Take more water than you think you'll need. Lots of rinsing off sand. Dog bowls get sand in them and you end up having to refill with water all the time. Bring a shovel and get some of these: I got mine on amazon https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TS3SJJ6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They work as a shovel too. If you get stuck in the sand these are a lifesaver. There are no trees to wench to and if ways down the beach may not be anyone around. Figure out what you're going to do with trash. I typically duct tape a trash bag to the bumper or table.
  13. He’s 12 and has done a few lakes around here, mostly Lake Austin. I was dreading buying a huge pole and some pvc but it sounds like we could leave his brother at base camp and drive around looking for birds. I’m assuming most of the fish you listed would be good grilled up with some butter, lemon, salt and pepper?
  14. Was probably in the back of the truck taking a siesta. What do people fish for on the beach? How big a rod/weight line do you need? How far do you need to cast? Oldest son is big into fishing but hates the beach so he's torn on weather or not he's going to come down next time.
  15. I got this I could get the grill side going but it would blow out. The small burner was a bitch to get lit but stayed on after a few tries. Probably should have moved it right next to the truck. No canoeing. I did rent a canoe one time on town lake with 20-30 mile an hour winds. Had my two boys with me and that was a bitch. Rental person said to be sure to go up wind so you can go down wind to come back. Wind said fuck you you're heading west. About 10 minutes in I turned around to go back and it took about 50 minutes to go the 1000 yards or so we went downwind in. I was thinking I was going to have to beach it somewhere and tell them to go get it.
  16. Yep, buffed right out and had them shape it like an FJ
  17. Went to North Padre over the weekend. Nothing beats having a mile of beach to yourself. For those of you who haven't been, the first 5 miles of the beach are pretty packed. At the 5 mile point there's a sign that says 4wd only past this point and there's around 50 miles of beach past that till you hit the breakpoint between North and South Padre. Dog had a blast Only annoying thing was the wind. It was even more windy than anytime I've been there. I'd guess at least 30-40 mph winds. I didn't even bother putting the tarp up or starting a fire. My portable stove/grill kept getting blown out by the wind. Realized after I left that I left my shovel. It was buried by sand and I forgot all about it. Also left the firewood I brought. So if you want a free shovel and firewood drive down to mile marker 20. About 200 yards past it is a blue barrel. About 20 yards past that are a few logs and a shovel is burred in the sand in front of them. Shovel is old as shit, pretty rusty and it's about 50/50 you'll get a splinter any time you pick it up. Replace the blade and the handle and you'll have yourself a very nice shovel. So i
  18. Went to North Padre with dog #2 Couple of hours of this each day
  19. North Padre was great. FJ handled the sand like a champ Dog was in heaven.
  20. Taking the FJ to North Padre tomorrow. Finally getting it off road for a bit. Just me and one dog, it's going to be great.
  21. yeah. he moved his cards together in anticipation of throwing them in, then a few seconds later put them back. He wanted to fold but didn't.
  22. Is it crowded 10-20 miles down or are you still able to get a few hundred yards of beach to yourself?
  23. Anything special/different about Padre Island National Seashore right now? Thinking about camping this or next weekend 10-20 miles down the island. How's the seaweed on the beach?
  24. They already do this. When you get a quote for your company for health insurance for your employees they ask you questions about your employees. Adding a question of "Have all of your employees been vaccinated" will not be a big issue. When the insurance company comes back to the business owner and says you have 2 options: 1. Pay $2000 a month per employee 2. Get all of your employees vaccinated and/or fire those not vaccinated and pay $1000 a month per employee what do you think the owner will do?
  25. So you're opposed to private companies doing what's best for their bottom line? I'm not talking about regulation, I'm talking about insurance companies changing their policies.
