  1. Yeah nobody on the field seemed to be upset. Just the announcer, who was also probably just reacting to the tracker. At worst imho, it was a very close pitch. Too close to take wtih 2 strikes.
  2. Yeah I initially reacted to the dot, too & thought we got the benefit of a really bad call. Then I went back & watched a couple more times & it also looked to me like the tracker was off to the outside while the ball looked like it caught the corner. First time I've ever noticed that happening.
  3. Wow. Watch the video, & watch Higgins lie through his teeth about the vote count. Higgins (drunk-sounding Louisiana drawl): "In the opinion of the chair the No has it". All: Laughter. Garcia: "Recorded vote, sir." Roll call count: 8 AYEs, 2 NOs. What a piece of shit.
  4. IDK, but it didn't seem to matter on the previous two hitters. And even if they're playing bunt, a decentbunt still moves the runners over.
  5. Yeah and if you bunt him there, it's 5-3 now.
  6. I'll take it. Clutch hitting is always nice. Should be 5-3 tho.
  7. Wow, not bunting Caratini there makes less than zero sense.
  8. Paywall. Anyone have access?
  9. Yeah, exactly. Doesn't seem like a great option for them. Sure, that won't fuel this furor at all. Bold strategy, Cotton.
  10. ctrl+shift+v, yo. AKA paste as plain text.
  11. https://apnews.com/article/congress-jeffrey-epstein-trump-f2a03eca247268b14a9e38858338eded This guy's right. Johnson is fucking up sending them all home imho. That's just gonna ramp up the pressure imho. So be it.
  12. Yeah if anything, Ozzy living well into his 70s is testament to how much shit the human body can actually live through. All the shit that dude put into his body over the decades, + Parkinson's & trauma from a fall ... but yeah, the COVID vaccine is what killed him?
  13. What he really meant, of course, was "you don't see any brown people". And of course, the white immigrants who worked on that building were reviled as much as the brown people are now.
  14. Wow. That feed. Holy shit. And there's a link to his online store every 2 or 3 posts. I guess there's always been good money in feeding nonsense to the crazy/stoopids. Remember when he was just the local running joke? Then the internet came along and made him the city's 'running joke' who's also a billionaire swaying elections. FML.
  15. Thanks. It's always 2 blackhawks, at least twice a day each way.
  16. They way things are going, and given my surly & s/m posting history, I won't be surprised if they pop open a door and start strafing my house.
  17. True enough. So that leaves us with the question of whether or not saving $1M/accepting Obama's dirty covid vaxxer $ was worth all those lives lost. ETA: That said, for some reason I was under the impression that those helos were making all those flights in support of the recovery effort. If it's not that, then what kind of assistance are they giving to the cleanup? Serious question. Anyone?
  18. I hear ya. I'm not on the "Fuck 'em, don't help 'em at all" train. I was thinking more in terms of how little an ounce of prevention would have cost vs what that lack of preparation has cost us (just in monetary terms, setting aside the human toll for a moment).
  19. So they coulda had an early warning system for about $1M, right? I've been seeing/hearing several heavy military helos every day for a couple of weeks going to and from Ingram, etc. They fly right past my house. I wonder how much that has cost so far.
  20. My God. It's full of stars ...
  21. Pure greatness, this episode. If you haven't seen it yet, do so asap.
  22. Exactly how I saw him, and how I see him watching these videos. The music just flows through him.
  23. Seeing Gary Clark Jr play last night at the Mo Amer show at the Moody Theater got me to thinking about guitarists, which of course always leads to me thinking about the greatest ever to pick up a guitar - our own SRV. Just watched this clip again and played it for my kid, without showing him the screen during the behind the back bit at the end. Then I turned the screen around in the middle of that part and he lost his mind. (eta: quoted the wrong post, shoulda been the Texas Flood El Mocambo video above, but y'all knew what I meant) SRV could do what other guitarists only dreamed of - behind his back, while singing. Fucking unbelievable. The way he played was supernatural. I can only assume he had a deal with the devil a la Tommy Johnson in O Brother Where Art Thou (Robert Johnson irl). And to think we used to be able to see him play for free, or for like 5 bucks, on like a Tuesday night under an assumed name on 6th Street.
  24. Just got home from tonight's sold out show at the Moody Theater. 2nd stop of his current standup tour that started in Houston last night. 3 warmup comics, who were all very funny, then a long, funny show from Mo. The DJs playing beforehand said they had big surprises in store, & I saw the stage set up for a band, but I didn't think too much of it. When Mo was done, he brought out Robert Glasper & his crew. They played for a while, including backing up Mo singing Minnie the Moocher and What a Wonderful World, before Mo brought out one more guest to play - Gary Clark, Jr. What an amazing and unexpected bonus on top of a bunch of great standup. Awesome night.
