  1. *racism. But yeah, lol.
  2. Yeah it was brilliant.
  3. Aye, and what is 'Insider415'? Google also no help with that one.
  4. Yeah the league format is beyond silly on multiple levels imho, and re: the website lagging reality, it's another symptom of a long pattern of mismanagement by the AVP. Oh, what could have been. Only 2 open tourneys. No Hermosa, again. Chicago as a league event. Etc. It's like they're trying to kill the AVP. The long, slow decline since the FIVB changed the rules has been painful to watch.
  5. I believe you misspelled 'Jesus Tittyfucking Christ'.
  6. LOL Bobby thinks a parking garage will help COTA's ingress/egress/parking situation. https://www.mysanantonio.com/lifestyle/article/circuit-americas-parking-garage-20096582.php :jagsguy: When it comes to parking for sporting events, everyone with any sense avoids parking garages like the plague. The only location I can think of where a garage will help anything would be in the Paddock, where it won't help the typical fan even a little bit.
  7. Really good article imho from the NYT that was gifted to me earlier today. I agree with Klein here, that what Trump is displaying with this blizkrieg of EOs is weakness, not strength. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/02/opinion/ezra-klein-podcast-trump-column-read.html?unlocked_article_code=1.t04.mwSZ.KfcjTizcj7to&smid=url-share
  8. Re: the Canadian hockey fans booing the anthem, I'd forgotten about this, but does anyone remember the Maple Leafs' fans stepping in last year to sing it for us after their singer's microphone stopped working? We can no longer have nice things. Thanks, Trump.
  9. The Hoser Canadians posting on a Brit racing board I frequent are not amused either:
  10. I'll never understand why people do that shit at the beginning of an endurance race. I'll bet the mechanics don't understand it either. Crazy. The cream will rise to the top in a race like that - if you give it a chance and don't fuck it up by stupidly running into someone.
  11. Most of my extended family is white trash in Tennessee and Florida and I have a pretty good idea how most of them think ... but idgaf because I cut all their sorry asses out of my life 35+ years ago. /csb
  12. Maybe MTV Bro shoulda voted for the FAA spending rather than against it.
  13. Huh. I remember seeing that one video and thinking it was odd, where you can see the plane on a parbolic arc, getting steeper as it approached the ground. I guess that would be explained by the nose trim down premise, but I'm certainly no pilot. Does that seem plausible? Disclaimer: I don't know shit about fuck.
  14. Trusty Kaitlan Collins (who imho is probably very frequently the smartest person in the room) lays out the truth about DEI in the FAA: Excellent report: https://x.com/kaitlancollins/status/1885318888235176438 (Sorry. She hasn't posted it on bsky. Hopefully the way I posted that link is ok. I assume it's aight since it didn't embed like they used to.)
  15. This is absolutely phenomenal. Taco trucks will vaccinate your 401K.
  16. Welp remember MTV Bro at Transportation? Saw this in another thread. Thanks @Francisco 2.0. NSIAP. If it was, I missed it.
  17. I was merely thinking more in terms of Trump complaining about, villifying, and blaming the Biden admin for a program that he not only let run through his term but that he possibly initiated. I agree 100% that DEI is not a problem, especially in the FAA where, as you say, the training is extremely demanding and it's a meritocracy. If you get through that training, you're good. Some context re: DEI and ATC, as you say, is important imho. Whether minority applicants were being favored over white males or not becomes less relevant once we acknowledge that the FAA cannot simply go out and hire as many controller trainees as it wants to or needs to at a given time. Like every other agency, they have budget constraints set by politicians. I myself took the ATC test in the 90s and despite scoring 100% on my first try, I was never hired. My mentor who was a high-ranking ATC in Houston at IAH said diversity hiring contributed to me not being hired, but stressed that the applicants who were being hired also scored as highly as I did. Did I like not being hired? No, but I really have no problem with someone else getting 'my' spot if they also scored well on the exam, and I know what the training environment for that job is like. It's extremely intense, as is the job.
  18. My apologies for asking this, as it may have already come up, but I've been away from the thread since last night and haven't had a chance to catch up yet. Now I'm reading elsewhere people saying that not only was this FAA DEI initiative active during the first Trump term - but he actually launched it. Can anyone verify that?
  19. Look at his face and reactions during that video. As I've suspected all along, he has no fucking idea what EOs these dipshits are bringing to him until they explain them to him. Then he goes 'Oh that seems like a good idea', and signs it. Holy fucking shit.
