  1. I think they are staying in town because they play Texas State on Tuesday at Globe Life
  2. This is definitely a good warmup game for what Sunday’s might be like in the SEC. 4+ hour marathons.
  3. Gonna be fun to build around Rodriguez, Mendoza and Gasparino for a couple of years
  4. I don’t see how you can overturn that
  5. Galvan did not present that 3-2 pitch very well.
  6. Travel curfew. Both these teams took a bus so I can’t imagine there is a curfew.
  7. When Howard loses it, it goes south fast
  8. First Borba appearance of the season coming up?
  9. I can see why Ole Miss was so bad last year when Saunier was a weekend starter
  10. Sure would be nice if Farmer wasn’t batting third
  11. Flores is ready to see Dartmouth pitching
  12. Pierce would 100% be bunting here.
  13. I’m surprised Belyeu wasn’t sent home on the ball that got stuck down the line.
  14. We’ll see what happens as more new players enter the program, but it just feels like part of the Tulo hitting approach is sacrificing some swing and miss for power and putting the ball in gaps. Been that way all 4 years he has been the hitting coach. The lack of walks this weekend is going to drive Schloss crazy. That is one of the things his A&M teams lived on.
  15. Hopefully they get Bing an inning on Tuesday. He is better than that. Had to be first game jitters.
  16. That was somewhat jarring for a guy who was all about command/control.
  17. No shot we are starting at 6:30
  18. Well the ESPN app had the score flipped so this comment sounds a little dumber. Still think Ole Miss is a borderline tournament team and Bianco needs success this year.
  19. Ole Miss is going to have a new coach in about 3 months
  20. Louisville up 8-1 on Arizona
  21. The new trend is hitting your best all-around guy second in the order, right? Conventional wisdom says you want them to get as many AB’s as possible. I wonder if Belyeu could end up there at some point this year. The small ball game under Augie and to a lesser extent under Pierce meant we usually had a guy who could bunt and handle the bat well in the 2 spot.
  22. Interested to see Bing tonight. Similar profile to Harrison. 88-90ish, strike thrower. Only 12 walks in 70 innings last year.
  23. Name mentioned by Bobby this morning. Previously worked with Flood. https://huskers.com/sports/football/roster/season/2024/staff/ej-barthel
  24. He wants a high OBP guy up there with some pop. He had Grahovac lead off for A&M much of last year. The only other options that make sense are Mendoza (13 walks all last season), Winfield (strikeout prone) and Rodriguez (freshman). I guess maybe Farmer too but small sample size. Rodriguez seems like an obvious choice once he has some more AB’s under him if he shows he can handle it and cut down on the swing and miss.
  25. Bing or Volantis is my guess for tomorrow. I think they will ease Grubbs back in a midweek game.
