  1. Jelani McDonald is going to be a dude. It’s nice to finally have a talented and coherent secondary. No more Jerrin Thompson and Kitan Crawford running around aimlessly.
  2. I mean, that’s why they call it an average. I also think our RBs have incredibly low IQ. A few times they ran around a hole and basically assisted in a holding penalty getting called.
  3. How many drives did Vandy truly stop us without the help of a penalty or INT? 1 maybe 2? Some of the calls were BS but it’s infuriating to see this veteran OL do stupid stuff.
  4. I hope the bye week helps him deal with whatever he is dealing with but I’m not holding my breath. I think there is about 40% of the playbook we cant use right now, which is beyond frustrating because we should have put up 450+ yards and 35+ points today. People will blame the running game but our two RBs combined for over 4.6 yards per carry. The holes were there for large stretches.
  5. Craig Way interviewed Terry yesterday. A few interesting things he mentioned was we were +18 in the rebounding battle against TCU and he thought Jordan Pope had some Max Abmas in his game as a scorer. One thing he said he didn’t like was the number of fouls we committed.
  6. This is one of the worst QB classes I’ve ever seen, which is part of the reason why he’ll still declare and get overdrafted. That is what NFL teams and dumb GM’s do nowadays. Maybe it would be good for the guy to go in the 3rd round and go to a place where he can sit and watch for a few years since the dude has been rushed every second of his life since his junior year of high school.
  7. Team notes from IT
  8. FCB with a few notes
  9. I was encouraged by what the defense showed Saturday but we definitely benefited from some key drops. I was also puzzled that we seemed surprised by Georgia’s screen game when that is a Bobo staple. They seemed to be targeting Guilbeau quite a bit when they had to have a play. Teams also must see something on film for the flea flicker to be continually dialed up. That was the 3rd or 4th time we’ve seen it this year. Overall a winning effort but I think we can go to another level. The offense and special teams definitely dealt them a shit hand.
  10. His agent was on an Austin radio station yesterday and said Ewers was meeting with a coach during the availability.
  11. No. The offensive plan, especially in the first half, was horrible and the supporting cast around Ewers was bad. We made some good adjustments in the second half but good schemes and stuff on a whiteboard doesn’t beat Georgia. They haven’t lost to a school not named Alabama since Covid. Our great players and great playcaller needed to be great and too many guys we depend on (Sark, Ewers, Wisner, some of the OL) came up well short. I think Arch could have bailed us out of some stuff but we still lose that game and his stat line wouldn’t have looked pretty having to try to evade that pass rush.
  12. He also said Xavier Worthy was fine all of 2022 and it comes out he was playing the second half of the year with a broken hand. He is never going to publicly admit someone is playing hurt. That puts a huge target on their back for opposing teams. A buddy of mine who knows a GA said there were conversations on the headsets about making a QB change well before Arch actually got inserted into the game. The leash is definitely short.
  13. CJ Vogel posted on OTF that Wisner practiced today but was in a green jersey. Right shoulder injury.
  14. Ball State is one of the worst FBS teams in the country and Vandy won 24-14. I’m going to assume they repped Texas the whole week in practice but you should still be able to roll out the ball against Ball State and win by 20+. I think Pavia is super fun to watch and Vandy is much improved, but I question some of the defenses they’ve played. Virginia Tech, Alcorn State, Georgia State, Bama, Missouri, Kentucky and Ball State. Kentucky is probably the best of that group and held them to 288 total yards. Defensively I think Vandy is very meh. Their offense dominating time of possession really helps cover up the defense. They are going to try to ball control us to death and shorten the game. This would be a great spot to fix our opening script woes and jump out to a 14-0/14-3 type lead.
  15. The graphic doesn’t even list a source, which news like that would have. It really was likely a hack job.
  16. 247 said their Instagram account got hacked.
  17. Kirby Smart told us his opinion of Ewers when he squib kicked up 23-0, went for a 4th and goal up 8 in the 4th quarter and 4th and 1 from his own 40 with 2 minutes left.
  18. Yeah, the body language police always make me roll my eyes. What do you expect a dude to look like when he is getting his shit kicked in? Of course when he’s playing well like the Michigan game he is doing all sorts of dances and goofy stuff on the sideline and everyone loved it. His body language and demeanor had no impact on his performance and won’t be the reason he is benched if it comes to that. That is who he is. It’s a football game. No one is jumping around on the sidelines with smiles when you are down 23-0.
  19. That’s on the coaches then. Choosing to play a limited Ewers over a backup who has shown he is very capable is horrible decision making. If that was the case they could have just yanked Ewers yesterday and said it was injury related and some of the heat would have been off. My guess is Ewers is cleared from a medical standpoint but that doesn’t trust himself and it’s mental, which is even worse. Almost like having the yips.
  20. 1) Probably. I don’t think we win because the supporting cast (OL) wasn’t particularly good either. 2) It’s Arch if Ewers is as bad in the short and intermediate game as he has shown the last 2 weeks. It’s hard for me to make a case for Ewers right now. He isn’t bringing anything to the table Arch wouldn’t. For Ewers sake I hope it is injury related because I’ve never seen a QB regress this fast after literally being the favorite for the Heisman.
  21. Sark ain’t stupid man. He knows what he is watching. The playbook opened up this year with Arch in. Yeah, the opponents sucked but we just had so much more of the field to work with in addition to his running ability. There were a lot of valid reasons for Ewers remaining the starter and his experience is valuable, but those reasons are quickly becoming fewer and fewer. He is absolutely playing for his job against Vandy. We can’t have a national title contending team with a third year starter who needs training wheels. He has earned the right to work through some stuff but 3 straight games is enough man.
  22. The dude had like 16 yards passing in 6 drives and was seeing ghosts. At that point his own confidence is about to go off a cliff if you keep just letting him bang his head against a wall. He absolutely made the right direction in sitting Quinn down. At worse, Arch comes in and does the same thing as Quinn but at that point you already had nothing going so who cares (which is what happened). At best, you get a spark from Arch or Quinn calms down (I.e Rattler against Texas in the 2020 game) and looks better the remainder of the game. You can’t look that bad in a home game coming off an injury and a previous game where you already looked shaky and expect to just keep doing the same thing with a capable backup behind you.
  23. Your overall point stands, but calling the 2022 Alamo bowl where 3 of our best players opted out a “big game” is a stretch. Especially now with the expanded playoff, no one is going to give two shits about non-CFP bowl games.
