  1. I'll always remember taking a picture with Ray Wylie Hubbard after a show there and he said something along the lines of "oh, that's cool, I got one of those camera phones too, but all I ended up with is a bunch of pictures of my ear".
  2. It's fine. They do just enough upkeep all around. Then it depends on what room you get and how recently it's been renovated. But they have pictures of every room online now so you can at least request one that looks good.
  3. We like to stay at Gulfstream Condos which is right by where you were. Booked for July and can't wait. Hopefully things calm down by then.
  4. A slug. Years ago my wife called me at work and said there was a slug in the pantry/laundry room. She avoided the room the room the rest of the day and when I got home I found a potato peel that missed the trash can.

  10. Made jambalaya mostly following the Donald Link recipe but used bought stock and did a quick smoke on the chicken. There’s a lot of cooking stuff down to brown and then deglazing. First the sausage and deglaze and remove. Then onions twice, then the rest of the vegetables and spices a couple of times and end up with this. Then add the meat back. Then the rice and stock and cook for 30-40 mins. Came out great. Also fried a few shrimp as a side dish.
  11. Southern Heights has good beer but haven't been for pickup lately. Shit, I didn't even know about Nomadic. Will check it out one of these days.
  12. From there a St Elmo, Live Oak, Hi Sign run is not bad in the traffic these days.
  13. From CDC's weekly letter: FOOTBALL SEASON TICKET RENEWALS: While the extended deadline for renewing football season tickets is coming up on May 1, I must say we are beyond grateful for the passion on display by our loyal season tickets holders who are investing in our program by renewing. I have personally talked to so many of you and some have asked if we will refund your investment in season tickets and seat-related gifts if we are forced to cancel the season due to the pandemic. While we are doing everything we can to ensure we can safely have a football season in the fall and looking forward to that, rest assured that should the season get cancelled, or significantly altered, we will make an exception to our standard no-refund policy. Our dedicated Longhorn faithful will have the choice to have their investment returned, or to convert it (including the ticket cost) into a charitable contribution to the Longhorn Foundation. We’ve also moved our payment billing plan dates back so that only 25 percent of your season ticket purchases are due by May 1, if you’d rather not pay in full at this time.

  18. My memory from that REK set was Cody Canada just hanging his head in shame and bowing down to Rich Brotherton after trading solos at the end of Road Goes On Forever. Holy shit that was a lot of beer ago...,
  19. Charlie Robison (playing now) was pretty great that night. I think I know which REK set they will play next and it was killer.
  20. I like it simple. Wild Turkey 101 straight
  21. For home cooking, my answer was on a previous page...
  22. Smiley face for having a goal. I'm holding off one more day and have the same goal for tomorrow.
  23. I don't donate that much so as long as I get the ticket cost back I'll be good. Sounds that will be a definite refund (I mean it has to, right?). But I assume if you request the donation back then you lose your grandfathered location. I'm waiting until May 1 just to see if they delay the date again. But yeah, I've gotten numerous emails and voice mails.
