  1. I will play both but "that stupid fucking line 'em up" game is significantly harder to be good at. I mean there are variations that you just line up and play to get rid of you hand, but that's not what's being discussed here I hope. I believe "fives" might be the common name. My family would call it "straight" dominoes. I have a tough go big family gatherings as there are a few state champions among them (yes, that's a thing).
  2. Padre island.
  3. Beach snack
  4. I37 near Corpus?
  5. I don't fish much but hired a guide while on vacation on Padre Island. We did OK I guess. Enough for dinner at least.
  6. It's been a while but $1 whoppers were a thing during my utee98 days.
  7. We went for the baby turtle release this morning. It was kind of lame because they are so small you really can't see them but also pretty cool. Sun coming up and little guys going for hopefully a good life.
  8. Not Port A, but close enough. Lovely out on north Padre Island
  9. "Man I forgot to take the after pic, but they were perfection. Gone before I even had a chance to take a picture."
  10. Yeah, mine must have been lost in the mail.
  11. This was right out of the machine so kind of soft serve but you can see the chocolate bits.
  12. I'm only two batches in with my machine but I did vanilla and to mix the chocolate in, melted bar or bar and a half with a double boiler. Then when you're about 3-5 mins from being done, pour melted chocolate in a thin stream into the ice cream. It freezes in the ice cream and creates nice thin shards. Of course if you want bigger chunks, I'd shave the bar.
  13. Perhaps. He came from the restaurant side so was probably mingling with the crew. They didn't call his name or anything but maybe it was just special service. Nobody offered to carry my food to the car for me.
  14. Franklinz' didn't disappoint. Fatty brisket was the best and ribs were quite good as well. Random but while we were waiting for our order to be put together, chef Roy Choi walks up and is handed a big box of meat. Something tells me he didn't pre-order the same way I did. Probably just texted Aaron.
  15. At the beginning of that episode, my wife was going on about "why are they showing all this depressing shit...I thought this was about going to the moon". I said clearly they are laying out what else was going on during this time and how the Apollo program was the one thing everyone could agree on. After that line, she was like, yeah I get it...
  16. Chicken satay. Not pictured is the Malaysian vegetable fried rice to go with it.
  17. Looked like 2-3 weeks out for sliced meats on the pre-order. You can also get a warm whole brisket about a week out I think. On the website you have to choose what you want before it gives the available days/times and they will differ depending on if you want it all sliced and prepared or are getting whole brisket, ribs, etc.
  18. Only after he eat's there for the first time, especially if it's on his bucket list.
  19. It’s all surface area. The taste has nowhere to hide.
  20. Well I'm having Franklin on Sunday for the first time (finally got around to planning a pre-order) so I might beat you to making that thread. But our experiences are likely to be different so make your own instead of posting in mine.
  21. <-- Runs to check how much a 1000 euros is these days...
  22. I rarely eat ice cream, but my kids eat the shit out of it of course. I have memories as a kid myself eating the homemade vanilla both from hand crank and electric machines and waiting for it to be ready to eat. So this thread inspired me to order the ICE-21 Cuisinart. Bowl is in the freezer so first batch will be tomorrow.
  23. You mean the panties your mother laid out for you?
