  1. Should have cooked a pig in that hole before you ran the PVC.
  2. The bottom line is that this shit show will be recast as great American democracy at work! That is how Fox will spoon feed "Thoughts" to it's watchers. The good news for Fox News watchers yesterday was that nothing of note worth mentioning happed on January 6th. So sleep tight GOP sheep, there never was an insurrection... So Now there is a very real chance that the GOP will crash the markets on the "principles" of a few radicals in the GOP. Traitors is what these folks are. They fully supported the overthrowing of democracy in pledging allegiance to a false God. What gives these extremists power? The stupidity of the GOP in that ONLY if bills can pass with ONLY GOP votes will they be considered. Thus this same shit show will play out over and over, but more behind closed doors. The funny thing is. The one thing that could cure this ill, is the same thing that would lose McCarthy his speakership. Reaching across the aisle to bring wider consensus on legislation would eliminate the power of the few. Thus an immediate challenge to the speaker's gavel will provide more turmoil. In fact I will make a prediction right now. That when McCarthy attempts to forge a last second deal to dot default on the US debt and destroy the markets... he gets a challenge to his speakership at the very same time! So two years of Republican whining, without any legislation of note. But don't worry Republicans you have seated the most corrupt and political Supreme Court this country has ever seen. So there's that!
  3. Kevin McCarthy could go down as an American hero, and one of the greatest speakers of the house ever. If he had principles. He could turn this revolt of bomb throwers into an amazing speakership. He could simply bring the house back to regular order. And allow DEMOCRATIC debate and amendments, as well as those from those that would destroy our country for their own vanity. He could actually lead, not the Republican party, but the US c House of Representatives! And he could both provide compromise legislation that had some chance of passing both houses. Simply by doing what the GOP bomb throwers want, allow debate and amendments to all legislation! Mainly it would produce better legislation because of input. If he truly adopted a bring all debate and amendments (like the framers intended) house he would gain respect and power. Not only from his own caucus, but from moderate democrats who are always willing to compromise. Instead what will happen is McCarthy will be a feckless and inconsequential leader, of short duration. He will likely be the steward of a 1500 point market collapse as the reality that the GOP will indeed default on our debt becomes a reality. Before, as usual, the democrats save the nation with reasonableness. But it is sad to me. Reminds me of how different the would could be if President Bush was not beholding to the Saudis (who bought his oil company for a reason other than political gain 😉 and oil and gas industry that funded his ascension. What an amazing squandered opportunity that was... McCarthy could actually use the rules against the far right insurrectionist wing of the GOP. And change the way the Congress does business and gain the support of some democrats because good legislation that could be passed by the Senate as well could become possible. Instead another opportunity for our country lost...
  4. Well Fox News has absolutely no mention of Trump's coup attempt anywhere on their Website. So the sheep won't have to think about how dangerous the Fox led GOP actually is. I think I may go sit to happy hour at Roaring Fork for an hour or two tonight. To see what the right wing Millionaire Losers club is pretending about today...
  5. Morning Joe, Deadline Whitehouse, and Andrea Mitchell Reports are my three news shows I tape. When you look at the quality of diversity of the guests (it would be more diverse if Republicans were not terrified of questions) and the level of intelligent discourse there is simply nothing remotely like it on Fox.
  6. The speaker's fight is simply the result of a minority party working so very, very hard to make sure that the minority rather than the majority rules. Because the GOP has fostered and developed the acceptance of lies as truth, of childishness as leadership, that a willingness to destroy democracy is actually fighting for democracy, and on and on. The speakers fight is simply what it looks like when you fully endorse the GOP political model. You exclude and remove any moderate input, and only allow the most radical thoughts, ideas, and legislation to flourish. And not a goddamn thing gets done. Point out to me the last legislation of any consequence the the Republican Party has put forward. It's been a lot of lying about plans that they say they have that you never see, while attacking and criticizing legislation as radically liberal that was the Heritage Society's model a few years earlier. How do you compromise on legislation with people who are unwilling to compromise? And you wonder why the GOP can't do big things?
  7. You know this reminds me of a story where a rich software guy wanted to be remembered alongside the Mona Lisa...
  8. This is quite frankly why gerrymandering is so bad for America in general. Whether Dem or Pub doing the line drawing. The problem is with security comes less and less accountability, and quite honestly a false sense of achievement. Hell if you win your district of 70% republican voters by 60% you are kicking ass! And your job is secure. Even if you want to throw bombs like Roy, you are pretty darn safe in your seat. Instead if districts were made more along obvious geographic boundaries and and not designed specifically to dilute certain pockets of support, we would be a better country. Because we would get more moderates. More people willing to look more for similarities than differences. More people to do what is reasonable, than to take an extreme position for likes on social media. In other words a greater core of individuals on BOTH sides of the aisle who want to get at least something done. No it's an all or nothing battle in legislation. The Hastert (child molester) rule where only legislation that can be passed ONLY by the the Republicans and no Democrats. Dems are not much better, but are a LOT more consistent is trying to reach across the aisle to find consensus. IF there were more moderates there would be a lot more bipartisanship. And quite frankly get big things done. The GOP is very, very good at being against things, and safe seats exacerbate this tendency. I know this is not as applicable to simply observing the Republican food fight, but I believe that gerrymandered districts allow for more extreme candidates. The kind that will default on the debt, shut the government down, and refuse to do anything if they cannot get their extreme way. Dems had the same problem in not going with Manchin's deal holding out for.... something that will never happen. I want to get shit done, that's why I am a social liberal and a fiscal conservative. I can find a moderate position in nearly every food fight...
  9. Yep - water pumps are simply one of those parts that wear out. I think on my buddies old Audi they had to remove the A/C to get to it... because German "engineering." I've usually had luck finding used, but I have also been extremely patient in waiting for the right deal. The Carvana option might be a good one, especially if you got them to buy your existing commuter just for a clean transaction. Avoiding any car from the North, or from areas of flooding is always wise. But with a 7 day return and a great mechanic inspection gmr548 has me thinking if I go used again in the future. I will also say that if you use craigslist, use the map feature. I missed out on a couple killer low milage deals in nicer areas as they got snatched up so fast. Better homes to me mean likely better maintenance, and less need to get top dollar on the sale. ALWAYS ask the mot important question, why are you selling.
  10. I guess the good news is... the name is Sark.... Not Jimbo....
  11. I had honestly forgotten that the GOP elected a soon to be convicted child molester in Hastert then last time they ousted a speaker. That has to give Jim Jordan an inside track to the speakership. Right? Assuming that watching kids get molested is nearly as powerful as Hastert's actual molestation in accumulating Republican speaker votes...
  12. Hey Kevin.... thanks for going to Mar A Largo to suck cock for this... and endangering the fucking country you whore! The really, really, really good news. Is that in a few days the millennials feeds will begin to trend about a joke happening int he GOP leadership. They already think that the GOP is a racist and bigoted party, Republican "leadership" clearly has the dumb box checked, and I for one and hoping millennials get their accurate opinions of the GOP reinforced.
  13. There is only one way that I can think of to most certainly reduce the total number of votes cast! followed with a little dash of...
  14. Just flipped to Fox and saw they had "others" rather than have Jim Jordan's name as getting the votes. Basically Fox is all in on getting McCarthy in. But funny to me they don't put up the name of the other person getting votes other than McCarthy. too fucking funny
  15. Welcome to the clown car that is Republican leadership! The problem with the GOP is the only thing they represent is the word no. No Ideas. No Principles. No meaningful legislation. No leaders. No bravery. No Leader. No plan...
  16. my NYE roast $9.99 a lb Ribeye roast from Sprouts. Love that there they cut it and tie if for you, and the all natural was a better grade of meat. 9.5 lbs. Should have made one more cut before taking the pic as the outside top edge looks more well done than the interior slices. Still delicious.
  17. Also in fairness to Republican Economic Trickle Down policies. They probably did work at least to some degree up until probably 1950. But unless you are 90+ years old you have never seen a GOP tax cut that created more revenue than it took off the table. You have never seen a GOP tax cut that created the number of jobs predicted (even remotely). What you have seen is a massive shift to a smaller concentration of wealth into fewer and fewer hands.
  18. First off, there are no longer any "Conservatives" in the GOP. They borrow and spend more than Dems. They don't build nor fund infrastructure. They don't fund the maintenance of existing structure. Apparently you are now a "Conservative" in the GOP... If you can spell the word? I think the main thing millennials see from the GOP is that Republican "freedoms" always seems to come at a price of potentially hurting somebody else's freedom. Look at the GOP's focus on homosexuality and transgender children. Or on impoverished immigrants. The only truth forever about the Republican Party is they always punch down. And never providing legislation with any chance of passing on any important issue. Unless the GOP can get millennials to start watching FOX News propaganda with their grandparents all day long, not much hope for this generation to start shifting to a party that embraces racism and bigotry. When you see flare maps, understand that the GOP gets a lot of money from the Oil and Gas industry and the GOP is a corrupt entity. Thus no need to even glance at flaring, and the assorted light and air pollution. Just cash the checks, and blame renewables when Oil and Gas fails in the snowpocolypse. If there was such a think as a conservative Republican, it might be different. But conservative now is a lot more likely to mean racist, or bigoted than anything to do with fiscal responsibility. And millennials see that.
  19. Just don't any of you dumb fucks start chanting "Big 12... Big 12..." I sort of like TCU at +13.5. and sure as shit am not rooting for Georgia's brain trust of fans.
  20. Has a Texas QB ever been given a longer leash than Ewers? For some reason I think some of the back of the end zone passes should be lower than the uprights of the goal. But that's just me. And I never bad mouth any of our kids. But Ewers is semi-pro, so he can take the obvious criticism.

    D'onta Foreman

I always loved him at Texas and so very happy for him that he has found a degree of success in the NFL. My heart broke for him when he blew his Achilles, with the Texans. Of course a LOT better to be at Carolina than in Houston at this point...
  22. now THAT should be the slogan of the Republican Party!
  23. Who is your audience? What sort of music do you want. I like .38 special but do I see them filling a 4500 person venue? Probably not? If you are allocating $50K fro up front band expense that is $11 a seat. If it's a complete sell out! i would maximize other potential areas of revenue if possible depending on the venue. 1) food and drink are those solely the venues? 2) parking 3) sell sponsorships for shirts or whatever you need to supply for the event. Again I am figuring out my audience first. I figure the first band is... Suede...
  24. You know, I think I have decided that Texas rolls in this one. Or rolls barely over the finish line with a win. Either way I think that the team is very, very close to truly having a "next man up" mentality that can actually be backed up by the personnel. I am excited to see Johnathan Brooks for example. I hate not having our two best running backs, one of the better combinations in the country. But I have to be excited about the kids getting opportunities. I think Washington has motivation and not the player attrition that Texas will have, but I think we are going to see some new kids step up into the limelight. What I do not see if Washington rolling Texas. Not to say it's not possible, but I think the team is a LOT more of a TEAM than they were even a year ago. The leadership of guys like Bijan and Roshon for example cannot be underestimated. This game will show us a lot of whether that leadership and dedication has been permanently instilled in the team, as the younger kids step forward to take their place in the line up. I am very optimistic about this game. It probably means more to Washington, as simply playing Texas is most team's "Superbowl." However,I think it is going to be very exciting seeing the new kids step up and take advantage of opportunities. I also expect some brutal mistake by the new personnel, that gives Washington some easy points. That will be when the adversity comes. The response to that adversity will tell me a lot about how much the team itself has evolved. Simply as much of the leadership on the team is sitting this one out prepping for the NFL. I think we are going to be happy with both the outcome and what we see from the next group of kids stepping into the shoes of some very, very good players. I am fervently hoping to see a new group of team leaders take the reign. IF that happens, we are really on our way to something special as long as we can keep the two deep full with talent. Team leadership is the single biggest factor in most championship level teams. Coaches cannot be the motivators, nor the standard enforcers. To me seeing who steps up to fill the leadership roles vacated by guys like Roshon, Bijan and DeMo is the detail I will be looking most closely for. But you are going to need to see some adversity to see who really steps forward. Hook'em!
  25. There is one way you can for sure win if you are headed to SA.
