  1. Key notes from Texas players after second practice of fall camp (247)
  2. You missed the word defense, but we can infer. This certainly portends well for Texas regarding August 30th.
  3. His evaluation and talent development would show it. No. 3 ranked 2023 recruiting class: It's a hit (Sat. 9:55am CST) - Gerry 15 out of 25 contributing in a meaningful way (in the two deep). 18 of 25 still in the program.
  4. Moody being (consistently) empty wouldn’t be a problem if the team was really good. I’d wager Terry was a large part of the lack of enthusiasm. Beard had that place rocking. Hopefully we get the typical first-year coach excitement boost. An offensive-minded coach like Miller should help the cause, as well. Either way, it’ll be much less embarrassing as compared to when FEC was barren during Shaka’s worst seasons.
  5. The Pirates’ org really pisses me off. This was a huge salary dump for them. They routinely seek substandard returns just to keep their payroll down. The owner doesn’t care one bit about winning. It’s blatant profit maximization over competitiveness. Just wants to kept costs as low as possible to enrich himself. Nutting should be forced to sell. Great fans, great stadium, and they consistently get nothing. This. Just go be competitive and spend some more in the offseason.
  6. Buy Stock Now: Impactful Pieces for 2025 (Friday Early AM) - CJ This team is stacked with young talent. Friday - Bobby Good news on Shaw and some highly-ranked freshmen receiving threats.
  7. Recruiting: The latest - Gerry No major changes on the recruiting front in regard to the two remaining targets with decisions on deck. Davon Benjamin … OTF continues to believe Oregon is the leader (as of Thursday evening) ahead of Saturday’s announcement. Michigan and Texas are fighting, and the Longhorns are completely all in with the attempt. Washington and North Carolina round out the final five. Jake Kreul … OTF continues to hear more Texas chatter, as do people at IMG Academy. Oklahoma and Ole Miss round out the final three.
  8. It's the most common type of ankle sprain. It's when the ankle rolls laterally (the foot turns inwards). Same thing as when you step on an uneven surface and roll your ankle. Sounds like this was a grade 1 sprain. Not a big deal with standard recovery protocols.
  9. Quick hitters from Thursday's practice (3:50 p.m.) - Jeff Howe We're done with today's open practice window for the media. — Ryan Wingo and DJ Campbell weren't at practice. — Jonah Williams and Kade Phillips were held out again today. — Lavon Johnson is still limited with a heavily taped left ankle/foot. — Jaime Ffrench caught the eyes of the OTF staff today.
  10. Texas plays them their fifth game. They go @LSU, @Miami, BYE before Texas heads to The Swamp. That’s such a gift of a bye week given his injury risk.
  11. Florida fans:
  12. Ostensibly, it should have been. It was the fifth-ranked recruiting class. 5-7 didn’t have much to do with it. It just busted for a myriad of reasons. Although, omitted of note from the OP (not you), Quinn and Watts were part of the transfer class. The other transfers are laughable to look back on. The 2021 class was ranked 15th and produced some high-quality players and NFL drafts picks from top to bottom in terms of individual rank (Sanders, Worthy, Murphy, Brooks, Connor, Sorrell, Helm, and then K. Rob in the transfer class).
  13. After leaning on outside zone in 2024, Texas wants to see 2025's go-to running game concept surface in training camp - Jeff Howe
  14. Meh, it’s just the first day of Winter. They’ll have it easy.
  15. Gotta hand it to him. Good sarcasm by Helobius on this one. Guys... I posted it here, let's see... two hours ago.
  16. Thursday - Bobby We're either going to be celebrating a CFP Championship at the end of the season, or extremely disappointed. The way OTF is writing thus far, there is no in between.
  17. Observations, takeaways and more from the Longhorns' first preseason practice - Jeff Howe Howe with an absolutely massive pitcher of Kool-Aid here.
  18. Yep. In and of itself, red zone scoring percentage seems like a good indicator of offensive success. However, what’s the sample size? Whats the team’s explosive play TD percentage? Shit, was even was their overall record? Appears to be highly spurious data, to me. Something, something… shark attacks and ice cream cones, my man.
  19. Before the First Practice (Gerry) Level of Comfortability Entering Fall Camp (Wed. AM) (CJ Vogel)
  20. Fuck me for responding to who I am responding to, but y'all should know that "in a battle with..." is routinely used as: a way to appeal to current roster members by not simply handing a job to a transfer, even if the entire intent is to have the transfer start. Similar language was just used with Endries about not yet running with the ones even though he's going to be the starting TE. It's oftentimes just a smoke show not to piss off the roster or breed entitlement and/or generate a lack of effort for the new guy. a public form of motivation for guys to step up (whether it be the incumbent starter, young, or new player) We see this shit every year.
  21. What to Know From Coordinators/Coaches Availabilities (Tuesday PM) - CJ Vogel
