  1. Advantage, Gasparino?
  2. Yep, Job 38: 1-3 (specifically, the KJV). I don't believe we're attributing the quote to PhxHorn; just the perpetuation here. This isn't something people really say, otherwise. However, to be fair, that quote is still attributed to "his Father."
  3. Even better, I don't believe I was ever on a message board with your dad. So, I picked it up from someone else, which makes the language cascade even greater for him. Either way, I have heard from others that he was a great poster.
  4. 2025 Freshman Class | What to Expect (Thursday AM) - CJ Vogel
  5. Both true statements. In my cursory check of single-season TE records at Texas, I must have viewed a source that has not been updated for last season yet. Helm broke all of Thomas' single-season stats: 60, 786 yards, 49.1/game, 7 TDs. Granted, he had the luxury of three more games.
  6. 6 ERs on 2 hits is quite the inning, especially after the inning should have been over with the missed pop up to the catcher (timestamped). Could have been better, but glad the Sox didn't get swept in Chicago or Philly.
  7. Portal additions: Predictions and expectations entering fall camp (Thur. 7:48 am CST) - Gerry DL: Maraad Wilson should starts/play starter snaps. Texas' staff loves him. Getting this dude for two seasons is huge. Absolute portal win. Brevard is also a key addition and will be a 0 tech. Expected to play a ton. Shaw will play, but there are still questions surrounding his health and ability post so many injuries. Fall camp will be telling. Kanu and Johnson will provide solid depth. Awesome to have three transfers on the d-line with multiple years remaining. Offensive Skill Weapons: Endries "has been much better than expected" and the expectations were already high. We may be looking at a David Thomas-type impact; dare I say, even greater? If the Kool-Aid the 9.95ers have coursing through their veins is legit (this is an obvious, "gird one's loins" type of situation), Endries is set to possibly have the best season in Texas Football history for a TE. For reference, Thomas caught 50 balls for 613 yards (47.2/game) and 5 TDs in 2005. Maybe it's just me and his performance in the USC game (10 for 88 yards), but it seemed like was more that year. Anyways, what a beautiful option for Manning in his first year as a starter. Fuck it, he breaks Thomas' single-season marks and goes on the win the Mackey. This is Surly and it's the off season. Proclamations of grandeur is what we do. Did I mention he has two seasons to play... I may need to go clean myself up. Mosley has also enchubbened the staff. "Two more years, then off to the NFL." Hmmm, I'm sensing a theme with this year's portal class. Impact LB: Spence "will start, or play starter snaps at linebacker with the ability to play off the edge as a pass rusher." And, you guessed it, could play two more years but is viewed as a true NFL prospect after this upcoming season. Specialists: Shipley "just needs consistency from both hash marks and in game deciding situations." Well, I'm triggered now. He's 31-35 in his career with a long of 60 yards. Bouwmeester is an impact punter, "potential all-conference selection, and potential NFL punter." QB: Caldwell: "Could very easily be the backup for the Ohio State game." Maybe it's just me, but I don't want this guy to actually play, like ever. Well, I guess y'all don't even need to read the spoilered article now.

  11. Pretty much what we all already knew. The WNBA leadership sucks ass: Christine Brennan’s new book on Caitlin Clark has become an instant New York Times bestseller. In today’s conversation, she tells me the most interesting details from the book, including how Caitlin Clark reacted to being left off the Olympic team and the timeline of events that led to the WNBA upgrading players to chartered flights. We also discuss how unprepared the WNBA was for Clark’s arrival, why WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert avoids mentioning her name, the differences between covering male and female athletes as a journalist, and much more. Enjoy! https://open.substack.com/pub/huddleup/p/do-wnba-players-actually-hate-caitlin?utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
  12. Sorry for the off-topic post... Tuesday: Bobby Some news and notes by position that we’ve picked up prior to fall camp starting...
  13. Stanford should have the easiest path to elite recruiting due to program grades and pipeline access.
  14. Damn, that's a horrible ROI for a recruiting class. A whole lot of nothing.
  15. For sure! Also, Crochet since the beginning of June: Dude seems like an auto win, right now. The one loss in a game he started he went 7.0 with no earned runs.
  16. Lol. Obviously AI, but why the horse?
  17. Alternatively, Texas’ current advantages may supersede any downside with Harris. He’s also been in his role multiple seasons now, so maybe he’s learning. It’s likely a combination of factors. Regardless, I’m not sure Harris represents any material competitive advantage for Texas’ current recruiting success.
  18. You said it much more creatively, but I was going to equate Texas and Sark to when Phil Fulmer shows up to recruit Michael Oher in "The Blindside" and all of the other coaches are like, "Fuck us all! Fulmer is here. We're finished." Except, (obviously) Sark closes. Yeah, that's basically going to be Sark and Texas soon. Also, I hope your post makes it to MBGs. The comment section would be riotous.
  19. He's potentially in for a very rude awakening game one if he's as shaky as this article makes it appear.
  20. Nothing wrong with being a "little slot guy." Greater sensation, you know?
