Saturday AM Recruiting Update
The recruiting battles for top defensive and offensive line prospects will carry all the way until signing day, December 4.
Malakai Lee ...
Texas and Lee continue to have weekly conversations. The Michigan 4-star++ pledge remains Texas' top target at offensive tackle that the staff is still pursuing. Kamehameha High's last regular season game is October 24, which means a possible visit to Texas in November could work from a schedule standpoint.
If Texas A&M 4-star commit Zaden Krempin (Prosper, Texas/High) had a change of heart, Texas would answer that phone call.
Corey Wells ...
Texas continues to battle Auburn to hold onto the 4-star+ commitment from Petal High in Mississippi. Auburn is trying to get the 6-foot-5, 320-pounder on campus again today. Auburn will also take his brother in the 2026 class, South Alabama LB/EDGE commit Chris Wells. The Tigers are being very aggressive here.
Texas continues to have daily conversations with Wells. There is a chance Wells will be back on campus September 20, but not locked in. Auburn is trying to get him to flip prior to getting back on campus at Texas.
Texas wants Wells in the class, and the staff is fighting hard to keep him.
Kendall Guervil ...
Texas continues the pursuit of the 4-star++ Florida commit. Guervil, who tore his ACL in the season opener, speaks with Texas staff members regularly. OnTexasFootball will not be surprised if the 6-foot-4, 320-pounder makes a couple of visits to other schools during the season, and Texas would be one of those.
Dylan Berymon ...
Texas commit Dylan Berymon (Monroe, La./Ouachita) is visiting Ole Miss this weekend. The 6-foot-2, 325-pounder informed Texas prior to the visit getting out publicly.
While Texas is fighting to keep Wells in the class, OTF is uncertain if the scenario would be the same Berymon.
Jameion Winfield ...
Texas continues its pursuit of USC 4-star++ DL commit Jameion Winfield (Richardson, Texas/High). Texas is working to get the explosive 6-foot-3, 305-pounder on campus this season. It remains to be seen if that will definitely happen.
