  1. Quick hitters from Thursday's practice (3:50 p.m.) - Jeff Howe We're done with today's open practice window for the media. — Ryan Wingo and DJ Campbell weren't at practice. — Jonah Williams and Kade Phillips were held out again today. — Lavon Johnson is still limited with a heavily taped left ankle/foot. — Jaime Ffrench caught the eyes of the OTF staff today.
  2. Texas plays them their fifth game. They go @LSU, @Miami, BYE before Texas heads to The Swamp. That’s such a gift of a bye week given his injury risk.
  3. Florida fans:
  4. Ostensibly, it should have been. It was the fifth-ranked recruiting class. 5-7 didn’t have much to do with it. It just busted for a myriad of reasons. Although, omitted of note from the OP (not you), Quinn and Watts were part of the transfer class. The other transfers are laughable to look back on. The 2021 class was ranked 15th and produced some high-quality players and NFL drafts picks from top to bottom in terms of individual rank (Sanders, Worthy, Murphy, Brooks, Connor, Sorrell, Helm, and then K. Rob in the transfer class).
  5. After leaning on outside zone in 2024, Texas wants to see 2025's go-to running game concept surface in training camp - Jeff Howe
  6. Meh, it’s just the first day of Winter. They’ll have it easy.
  7. Gotta hand it to him. Good sarcasm by Helobius on this one. Guys... I posted it here, let's see... two hours ago.
  8. Thursday - Bobby We're either going to be celebrating a CFP Championship at the end of the season, or extremely disappointed. The way OTF is writing thus far, there is no in between.
  9. Observations, takeaways and more from the Longhorns' first preseason practice - Jeff Howe Howe with an absolutely massive pitcher of Kool-Aid here.
  10. Yep. In and of itself, red zone scoring percentage seems like a good indicator of offensive success. However, what’s the sample size? Whats the team’s explosive play TD percentage? Shit, was even was their overall record? Appears to be highly spurious data, to me. Something, something… shark attacks and ice cream cones, my man.
  11. Before the First Practice (Gerry) Level of Comfortability Entering Fall Camp (Wed. AM) (CJ Vogel)
  12. Fuck me for responding to who I am responding to, but y'all should know that "in a battle with..." is routinely used as: a way to appeal to current roster members by not simply handing a job to a transfer, even if the entire intent is to have the transfer start. Similar language was just used with Endries about not yet running with the ones even though he's going to be the starting TE. It's oftentimes just a smoke show not to piss off the roster or breed entitlement and/or generate a lack of effort for the new guy. a public form of motivation for guys to step up (whether it be the incumbent starter, young, or new player) We see this shit every year.
  13. What to Know From Coordinators/Coaches Availabilities (Tuesday PM) - CJ Vogel
  14. His oncologist in attendance at the press conference said they removed the bladder even after successful treatment because there was a 50%+ change it would return; so he and his medical team decided to remove the bladder. Yep, that's one SOP when you remove one's entire bladder (radial cystectomy). With a "pseudo bladder," a new bladder (neobladder) is created with a piece of the small intestine. This "urinary diversion" allows urine produced by the kidneys to flow through a conduit into a new bladder, which is typically either: 1. connected to the urethra, which his allows for more natural urination. 2. flows into a bag that is on the stomach and needs to be emptied as urine collects. Otherwise, you typically connect to a urostomy through a stoma on the abdomen and connect it to a urine bag externally. When urine is produced, it flows into the bag immediately and then you drain the bag when it gets full enough.
  15. 100% true. The options this presents could be so fun. I'd love to see some creative double mug looks with Burke, Simmons, Hill, Spence, Moore, and Zina U/Vasek on obvious passing downs. You don't even need to commit to cover 0 and rush six, but there's credible threat with six outstanding options to sack the QB.
  16. Maybe he's a guy Texas decides we must land later on in the process. I agree, he appears to be the best DB on the board. However, as we know, high-quality safeties are available in the portal and Texas currently has a plethora of DB talent.
  17. Two recruiting notes (Tues. 7:50am CST): Gerry
