  1. Has she explained what was happening or what she was thinking? This was not just "my worst moment happening to be caught on camera." This was something far crazier.
  2. And to think all this got started when Trump got his nose all bent out of shape after Obama made fun of him at a correspondent's dinner.
  3. The play that begins at :24 ... when it's over it looks like Cruz is standing over that poor kid and saying "I'm going to pick you up off the ground but don't you bring that weak shit in my house anymore." And the kid was whimpering and saying "Please don't hurt me, mister!" That was public child abuse.
  4. Sounds like maybe our coaches had a come to Jesus meeting with him. Kids can be flakey. Hell, adults can be, too.
  5. This is the culmination of what we were told this summer, that Sark and staff believe they were going to have a very good team and were wagering a lot, recruiting-wise, that they would get a huge return on that strategy if the team turned out to be as good as they thought it would be. Sark knows that it Texas hits it out of the park on the field this year it's going to be katy bar the door re: recruits wanting to commit.
  6. You don't know this with certainty. In some instances, breaking things down into black/white probably does serve our interests. In other instances, it probably doesn't. Example: We've been mostly at peace since Vietnam. Even if such simplistic thinking lead to the Irag/Afghanistan catastrophe, that isn't supporting evidence/proof because, to quote Cormac McCarthy, you never know what worse luck your bad luck kept you from.
  7. Per this ESPN-Allstate playoff predictor, Texas has the third best odds to make it into the playoffs, after Ohio State and Oklahoma. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/cfbplayoffpredictor/cfb-playoff-predictor
  8. I agree. Weigman was being mentioned in the Heisman race. You can't fire a guy for losing with his future Heisman trophy winner on the sideline.
  9. The Texas GOP's fratricidal infighting: you hate to see it. https://www.wfaa.com/article/news/politics/texas-republican-fighting/285-eb96a95a-caaf-4a71-b20c-a4b67e314ef2 But you love to see it. 10. I can think of many other choices, like dying peacefully in my bed, my much younger girlfriend weeping over the loss of great sex.
  11. You realize that that is not Senator Mike Lee's account, right?
  12. Agreed. Texas is going to be like a porch light to moths when it comes to NIL receivers for the foreseeable future.
  13. Note that this "I decided to take my kids to the beach" version of the story doesn't jibe with what he said at the time, meaning he's also a liar. And how tone deaf is it to basically be saying to the people who pay your salary "I make so much as a public servant that I made a snap decision to put my wife and kids and myself on a plane and fly off to the Caribbean for awhile."? Here's what I'd like to see: politicians who are forced to live on middle-class salaries. Publicly-financed campaigns. Term limits. Huge limits on the kinds of trips politicians are allowed to take. Same with judges. We are not going to get good policy until we rid the system of the influence of money. It corrupts and perverts everything.
  14. Not me. I don't want to get shot nor do I want to shoot anybody.
  15. I've only been to Eugene once (for three days about 10 years ago) but I thought it looked like an awesome college town.
  16. Sally Struthers agrees. Do yourself a favor and DON'T do a Google image search. I am large. I contain multitudes.
  17. I'm sitting here with two Aggies who are saying the Aggies are going to go after Lanning. I'm thinking that if Lanning does extremely well this year there's no way Phil Knight lets him go and I'd love to see the Aggies get into a bidding war with Phil Knight, whose net worth is ... 28.5 billion dollars.
  18. The best part was folks saying oil is a mineral. Oh, really? Is it a solid? Does it have a crystalline structure? We are fucked.
  19. Let me preface this by saying that I've had some horrible experiences like everybody---- overcame cancer, have had loved ones die etc ... Having said that, I know this is going to sound trite/trivial but when Craig Curry muffed that punt in the 1983 Cotton Bowl, it sent me into one of the worst times of my life. I'm kind of embarrassed now but very few events have impacted me, emotionally, like that. I was mostly alone for the holidays that year and it sent me into a terrible funk that didn't get resolved until school started back up a couple of weeks later. I couldn't eat, lost weight, looked like shit etc... My friends saw me and immediately knew something was wrong. "You look like you were run over by a truck," they said. After that I resolved that I will never allow myself to be impacted like that by any game, ever. Looking back, I can't believe how unhealthy my attachment to that team was.
  20. They want to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Hitler invading Poland.
  21. Stephen Stills, Cheryl Hine, RFK, Eric Clapton, and Tulsi Gabbard at RFK and Cheryl's house for dinner.
