  1. Fani Willis is apparently a great attorney: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/aug/14/donald-trump-prosecutor-fulton-county-georgia-district-attorney-fani-willis
  2. I haven't had to renew the trademark yet. It was good for 10 years. It looks pretty pro forma to me but I'll use legal zoom for that, too. Of course, that's still using a lawyer, but it's using a very inexpensive one. In all honesty, I really feel like I could file it with the Patent office myself.
  3. Yes, but when I sold my house I paid a realtor a small fee to list it, got a standard contract myself from the TREC, filled it out, had a lawyer look at it for five hundred bucks to make sure I was good, and saved myself 12k on the 3% listing realtor fee. Of course, I still had to pay the buyer's realtor, but the 12k that I saved didn't go into a realtor's pocket. Nope, it went toward me following the Tour de France around for a month. staying in some very nice places, and wining and dining a fine Belgian woman I met when I followed the tour, went to Belgium with afterward, and have been to visit three times in the 12 years since. Best ROI on any money I've ever saved. I will never use a realtor to sell a house again. I don't see the value added.
  4. I have to say that I used legal zoom both to incorporate and to get a trademark. That was nine years ago. Easy peasy. Both have stood up over the last nine years just fine. Both times I thought about some poor lawyer who got out of law school two years before with a fuckton of debt and how that money could have gone to him, but why should I pay more for the same service?
  5. Twitter links work fine. The racism comes at the end of this but the guy makes a good point: ever notice how these patriots always have the flag or the constitution or the Declaration of Independence or some shit like that on their shirts? And he's right: these people need to be world famous.
  6. I need to update my list. Lara Trump's Big Dog Ranch Rescue used 1.8 million dollars worth of charity money give for dog rescue to pay for events at Mar-A-Lago. Eric Trump stole money from cancer kids. Donald Trump stole money from vets and was fined two million dollars. George Santos stole money from a homeless vet's dying dog and now MTG's campaign manager created a fake charity and raised money for victims of an Ohio train derailment. The party of family values, folks.
  7. Say what you want to about Christie, he's the only one going balls-in-the-face with Trump.
  8. I'm convinced and will no longer vote for Hunter Biden.
  9. A friend of mine works for the Fort Worth Water Department. He said the amount of busted water mains this year is "off the charts. We don't have enough crews to handle them all" because the older mains are buckling in the heat, despite the fact that they actually had decent rainfall earlier this year ---- almost as much as the average.
  10. You know, when I posted about the Patriot Front earlier I was going to post exactly what the Idaho newspaper wrote in that editorial, though probably not as elegantly. If these folks are all gung-ho about this world that they want and think it's going to be so wonderful, why not get out into the sunshine, stand on a soapbox, and start trying to convince the rest of us to join them?
  11. GOP MAGA loudmouth candidate Anthony Sabatini plagiarized massive segments of his college thesis ---- from Wikipedia. He also cited sources that don't exist etc... How does the GOP continue to come up with these guys? "It bears emphasizing that, had Sabatini been caught, it would have changed the course of his entire life. Most college students would not only have received an F for their capstone work; they would likely be thrown out of school. Sabatini would not have graduated—let alone with honors—and would not have been accepted into law school. He would not have become a lawyer, would not have become a Claremont Institute honoree, and would not have been able to parlay his legal work into a career in right-wing loudmouth politics. He would have doubtlessly led an entirely different existence." https://www.thedailybeast.com/gop-candidate-anthony-sabatini-plagiarized-massive-segments-of-his-college-thesis?source=twitter&via=desktop
  12. Five Patriot Front members are suing an "Antifa operative" who infiltrated them and exposed their names publicly. The most hilarious part of the article? "The five plaintiffs suing Capito allege that being doxxed as Patriot Front supporters created a cascade of emotional and financial damages. Plaintiff “Gancarz was a civil engineer, earning approximately $107,000 a year,” its says. “He lost that job as result of Capito’s actions.” Plaintiff Turetchi “was discharged from the real estate brokerage where he was employed as a real estate agent and was unable to associate with any other brokerage,” the suit says, “thus preventing him from continuing to pursue his real estate career.” Plaintiff Brown not only lost a $50,000 a year gig as an electrician’s assistant, he also “became estranged from his father, who required him to leave the Brown residence,” the suit records. “Brown thus found himself without a home and without a job” and is still having “difficulties finding employment." As for the Johnsons? The suit says they had to move after the doxxing resulted in “a hostile environment for [them] in their neighborhood.” For James Johnson, an HVAC technician, relocating “disrupted his relationship with his union, resulting in a one-third loss in his yearly income.” Ameilia Johnson was allegedly “fired from her job in which she was earning $60,000 a year.” Patriot Front: White Nationalists Sue Over Exposure as White Nationalists – Rolling Stone The five racists are: Paul Gancarz of Virginia Daniel Turetchi of Pennsylvania Colton Brown of Utah James Johnson of Washington state Amelia Johnson of Washington state
  13. It's hilarious that the LSU fans don't understand how a kid from the "inner city" of .... DUNCANVILLE .... would choose Austin over Baton Rouge.
  14. She is pretty impressive. She was a law professor at the University of Florida for 16 years. She should run for governor.
