Acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery
As somewhat expected, Netflix won the auction and signed the deal overnight. From a quick scan of the merger agreement, looks like WBD will complete the spin of its linear networks to its shareholders, and Netflix will acquire the remaining business for about $72 bil of equity value. The most interesting part is what happens from a governmental approvals perspective. Lobbying from Paramount and others will be intense. Even ignoring the wild card in the White House, this transaction would receive heavy antitrust scrutiny. With the wild card in the White House, all bets are off. I honestly can't remember if Netflix has done something to aggrieve this president in the past, which will be the main sticking point. I didn't parse every word, but looks like Netflix will owe a $5.8 bil break fee if the deal fails for regulatory reasons.

Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Eloi! Eloi, lama sabachthani!
Heāll be a lifetime longhorn to me for being on the field against Bama in 23 (I believe it was a swing pass to him on our first offensive play, iirc). Aggie af, but after late Mack, Chuckles and dipshit, hard to express how much that game meant to me.

The movie you just watched
Just saw Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair in 70mm. A great way to spend 4 hours. Took me back to high school.

But remember, shooting fireworks off after July 4 is A-OK #personalresponsibility- 2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
First of all, I was responding to your statement that "Thereās not a lot of hard evidence that the OSU loss is really hurting Texas here and quite a bit of counter evidence that it isnāt". So now you are moving the goal post to "the case is not near as clear-cut as people are making it out to be. It basically hinges on the committee choosing to reward H2H vs OU abd that is not at all a sure proposition." Sure, I concede it is certainly possible the committee would decide to eschew head to head and rank Texas below both OU and Alabama in that scenario. It is much more likely in the scenario you describe that they slot those teams Texas - OU - Alabama (just as they've slotted OU over Alabama), with Alabama having a chance to leap frog both with a second win over Georgia. But the idea the OSU loss is not "really hurting Texas" is just false.- $9.95 worth every penny
I've always assumed that handle belonged to Ian Boyd.- 2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
This has been discussed (and disproven) ad nauseam. It's not about who Texas lost to, it's the fact that there is a 3 in the loss column. There is no reason for Texas to be ranked below OU, Alabama, Notre Dame, or Miami, for example, other than the number 3. A win against any one of Florida, Ohio St or Georgia, and Texas is in. It's fine if that is is the criteria, it is what it is. But coaches and athletic directors probably shouldn't proactively increase their odds of suffering additional losses.- $9.95 worth every penny
I mean, it is insane. I don't listen to a lot of content, but after the aggy game I thought I'd bask in a little more glory. There's like 8 post-A&M reaction podcasts posted within a 48 hour period. Love those guys, but it's not possible to produce good content in that manner.- 2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
Except for the fact that, you know, one team beat the other on the field and has the exact same record with a near identical strength of schedule. Notre Dame should be ranked 15th- Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Penn St. probably needs to pick up the Brian Kelly courtesy phone. He's a decent coach, and an even better fit with Penn State since he is a complete piece of shit.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Pretty sure most people bitched about Searles when he was here, too. If you spend time reading other message boards, you'll realize that virtually no fanbase is pleased with their offensive line coach for one reason or another (recruiting, development, cooking ability, etc.). I'm inclined to give Flood a bit of rope after seeing Christian Jones go from Tristan Nickelson to very good college lineman, plus the other 3 draft picks over the last few years. Obviously this year was a disaster, the interior in general has fluctuated from meh to total shit show, and the recruiting takes post-pancake factory seem extremely iffy absent serious development like Goosby. I think Sark needs to focus NIL on the offensive line in the same way he seems to have focused on the defensive line in the last cycle.- Mad Men
So about that (it looks beautiful, but this hilarious. I watched and confirmed)- Texas Roster 2026
I have not been among the knuckle draggers calling for Sark's head during this season, but if Connor Stroh starts at Texas next year, I will personally fly down to Austin and kick Steve in the nuts repeatedly until he agrees to quit coaching altogether. I'm sure Cooper Manning would be lined up right behind me to get in the final kick.- Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Eloi! Eloi, lama sabachthani!
#10 Michigan- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Had to double check this wasnāt a Helobious post- Lane Kiffin to LSU?
I always wonder how old people get scammed so easily, and then I see the shit you people post from X.- Lane Kiffin to LSU?
Certainly canāt relate to that one bit- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Exactly how I think it shakes out.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Doubt that would have happened. We would still have more losses than A&M, and the committee has shown that is all they care about.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
That would only move us to 11, which wonāt get the job done. Youād need a Georgia blowout of Alabama and us to also be moved ahead of them as a result. Or the committee to wake up and realize Notre Dame has done nothing to deserve a top 10 ranking (lol). In other words, weāre done.- Holy shit you dipshits: 9-3 Texas is probably in the playoffs
Agree with this. Assuming Texas doesnāt get in this year, the committee will have loudly stated that this is nothing more than an exercise in counting losses, at least for the SEC, Big 10 and Notre Dame. If that is the case, why would we dramatically increase the odds of suffering another loss when there is minimal upside. Notre Dame is the most egregious over ranking, but there is also no reason Alabama should be ranked ahead of us, other than our extra loss to Ohio St. We both have wins over top 5 teams. We both have a shitty loss to a shitty team from Florida. We both have wins over Vandy. We even have an extra top 10 win against a team that beat them. And yetā¦- Netflix Recommendations
I had similar thoughts. Beautifully shot, and this move really wants to be great, which I appreciate. I was moved on occasion, but ultimately fell a bit flat for me. Definitely worth a watch, and really wish Iād seen it in a theater. - Tow their fucking ass
