  6. No, but I did figure out it was a PEBCAK issue. So, soul crushing shame followed by a metric shit ton of embarrassment.
  7. I know. I am sure work is the only normal thing going on right now in their lives though. That's not said to justify anything. Like I mentioned today is the first time the war ever came up. There has never been any mention from them about what was going on until today and they were asked by someone on US soil. It was by chance that it came up today.
  8. I know there are long lines for gas. We are looking into options to help hopefully it will trickle up to C-level.

  10. I work with several people in the Ukraine. We have stand-ups twice a week driven by a manager there. Typically, in the midst of this, nothing is mentioned. Today, the Ukrainian manager is unable to connect.(He is OK). So, we had a guy in the US drive the meeting. He asked and several others in the US asked how they were doing over there. They are in Odessa area btw. The stress they are under became palpable to us this morning. When asked how close they were to what was going, one guy replied with perfect eastern European matter-of-fact tone "It's not too close, but it doesn't matter since they have missiles that can reach this far". He did mention he has heard a couple of explosions. Another guy ends his status with "not much else going on except war is on the doorstep". Other things brought up were shortages and long lines. I have only worked with this team a short time but they are great to collaborate with. Kind, giving, and understanding. I felt so small when I had to ask one of them for help on something afterwards. It's a travesty that they have to live like this.

  12. Allergies kicking up... re: video. Watched it unfold while on a track campout in the middle of a cow pasture in Gatesville, Tx. Coaches brought a TV and generator. It was quite the sight. A huddle of people in the middle of nowhere watching this incredible event unfold. I remember that the last 2 minutes seemed like 2 years. Thanks for this Beau!
  13. Kyle. Granddaughter ran her slowest time ever by 3-4 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. Thankfully tomorrow's schedule meet in Buda has been called off.
  14. I went to kindergarten at LMA in Sunnyside. I can see things changing over the last 50+ years.
  15. Windy as fuck. Went to track meet last Thursday evening. Temps were in the low 50s and dropped to mid 40s while there. Walking back to the car at the end, there were 20-30 mph steady winds if not 30-40 and up... most miserable I have ever been in cooler-cold weather. There was not at thing block it either. Back in January, as I was getting over what I assume was flu\RSV\cedar fever\corona***, wind gust blew my weber grill off the back porch. (***I mention that because I thought I was going to die getting that sumbitch back on the porch) It can be a bit of wind tunnel on my back porch but its still takes a lot to push that thing around. I have had to retrieve once before in August of 2020 and that was because of microburst\tornadic conditions.

  17. My sympathies to you and others hit by this. I know what you are going through. Been there a couple of times.
  18. Week or so ago they showed them prominently as she was reading a clue. I said 'That's a helluva shot.' Wife replied, "yep". The Indians are one of the worst teams I have ever witnessed and the amount of second chances they have gotten are unprecedented. It's ridiculous. I get they have to maybe stretch the show a bit but dang.
  19. Reminds me of 'Crocodile Hunter' and he did a show about the 10 deadliest snakes in Australia. Handled all but 1 or 2 or 3 of them because a bite would mean pretty much instant death. What really got me is that he found 1 or two (less deadlier) of them on his property.
  20. I would have thought shark attacks in Australia would have been a lot more than reported below. Also, given the Florida breakdown and the number of people that visit places like Destin, Miami Beach, etc... that is pretty light too. https://www.floridamuseum.ufl.edu/shark-attacks/yearly-worldwide-summary/ 2021 Breakdown Country Total Fatal USA 47 1 Australia 12 3 Brazil 3 1 Canada 1 0 Ecuador 1 0 New Caledonia 2 2 New Zealand 3 1 South Africa 3 1 St. Kitts and Nevis 1 0 Worldwide 73 9 US Breakdown U.S. State Total Fatal Florida 28 0 Hawaii 6 0 California 3 1 South Carolina 4 0 North Carolina 3 0 Georgia 2 0 Maryland 1 0 Total Cases 47 1

  24. Wife and I are both vaccinated, no boosters. No known cases before these. Both had it starting around the second week of January. Thought it was Cedar Fever or even the flu. Did not really suffer a lot. My taste buds went out of whack and we both felt like we could not get enough sleep and did feel weak. Have made it through about a week of not needing a nap about two hours after getting up. Anyways, fuck this stuff.
  25. I have family ties in Waco going back over 120+ years. It's a great place to live growing up if you don't know anything else exists north of West or south of Lorena. Moved the family to Austin in 94 and never gave moving back second thought after graduating UT. Our remaining parents still live in the area. That top 10 list in addition to the Tornado brings up a lot of recollections from my own memories as well as stories told to me.
