  1. It's this kind of crap, this bizarre sense of entitlement, that puts people off even more than their weird traditions. A&M ain't Bama. That's obvious to even a casual observer of college football. Alabama is a historic blue blood in the sport that has been on a historic tear of winning and championships for the past decade or so. They've earned any deference shown to them. A&M hasn't earned squat, but simply assumes it's due similar deference.
  2. How did Alabama get so effed up at quarterback? Both Milroe and Simpson were highly ranked coming out of high school. Has Bama just gotten lazy in its recruiting, or is it the OC? Emphasizing some RPO packages for Milroe seems like a no brainer. But they really haven''t done that, at least not in any consistent manner. And how do you explain Buchner? He was never anything special, but he at least looked kind of functional at Notre Dame. But last Saturday at USF? He was god awful. You'd have better luck with a trained seal taking the snap. A performance that dreadful has to come, at least in part, from coaching and/or playcalling. Or does the offensive line just miss Flood that much? Anyway, good luck to Milroe, I guess.
  3. I think they're just traumatized. After watching Butchner and his fabulous 2.4 yards per attempt, Simpson probably doesn't look so bad.
  4. "His third year was a top-five finish, an Orange Bowl championship and a legitimate argument to be in the playoff." I guess you can technically use that term, but for Aggie it seems a bit Freudian. Most people just say "Orange Bowl win" or "Orange Bowl victory." Did Jimbo get another home-made plaque for that "championship?"
  5. A future game is always the measuring point. Remember how loud they were about having finally put it all together when they upset LSU. Putting it all together for the last game of a 5-7 season is genius! That's why we'll never fathom the true greatness of Jimbo. A&M: From the outside looking in, you couldn't possibly give less of a shit. And from the inside looking out, you're a fucking moron (with my apologies to certified 2%ers). Such is the spirit that can ne'er be told, but simply won't shut up and stop trying until your ears bleed.
  6. Technically, isn't that 1-0-7? 1 win, no losses, and 7 just ran out of time. I mean, think about it. If you gave those whiny weirdos an extra 15 minutes after the other team left, they'd be undefeated. WHOOP!
  7. Maybe it's just me. I mean, I'm pleased to see Dallas win, but I'd rather see them not play a corpse on opening day.
  8. Daniel Jones really looks worth that investment, doesn't he? Hopefully it's just that our defense really is this awesome.
  9. What is so fucking hard about producing a normal half-time spot focused on students, academics, and generically building the future? Every other university seems able to do it. But not A&M. First, it was fuck academics, we are a football factory (just not one that wins like you'd expect). Now it's we are weirdos. Come and be a weirdo with us. WTF? They really are pathological.
  10. Easy. Bama as rejuvenated by a victory over the mighty Texas A&M Aggies.
  11. Geez Louise. This the Colin Simmons hysteria all over again, only somehow worse. They're teenagers making the most significant choice of their lives. It's pointless to try and game that out. Let the coaching staff worry about it and just wait for the decision.
  12. They are a name program. Specifically, they're that other school in Texas. You know, the weird one.
  13. It's also only year 12 of the 100 year plan (based on the hundred year decision). So they've got time. They just need to worship the dead dogs harder, and squeeze that left nut a little harder.
  14. So, to sum this up, in a decade that has been an embarrassment to Longhorn fans, A&M has slightly outperformed us, a loss in the SEC takes more coaching ability than two wins in the Big 12 cuz the SEC is so awesome, and Quinn and Arch are both overrated, although Arch is more overrated than Quinn. At least mostly, And did I mention that the SEC is awesome?
  15. Well, despite the plaque eating Jerry's brain, which it certainly is, this year looks like the Boy's best chance in a while. Pretty solid defense that could be quite good if they ever toughen up against the run. Offense that will score a lot even with the whole Dak question. But most importantly, there aren't many teams that look Super Bowl ready in the NFC. I count Philadelphia and the 49ers (if they're QB situation solidifies). Anybody else stepping up would be a surprise. This could finally be the year for at least an NFE title appearance, understanding that the wrong collection of injuries can wreck anyone.
  16. All you can do is wait until he announces. It's his life and his decision to make.
  17. My least favorite Chuckles memory is when he had to drag the administration into begging the Tulsa OC to consider our offer. Unfathomably grim times. But it could have been North Texas St., so I guess we had that going for us. Jesus...
  18. 2. They have never been one of the most hated programs. A huge chunk of the country barely knows they exist. As you note, the people who know them best either laugh at them or regard them with incredulous disdain. 4. Does anyone else find this "our league" or "our conference" stuff funny? I'll take that crap from Alabama, or Tennessee, or Ole Miss. You know, some team that has actually been in the SEC forever. But the Aggies act like they're one of those SEC ancestral programs, which is one of the things that seems to annoy their neighbors. Particularly since they hired f**king Jimbo, they've acted more and more like they should be acknowledged as one of the SEC's elite programs. I mean, who can forget that buffoonish turn in the half-time University spot, where they did their tired 12th man bit while implying the rest of the SEC was afraid of them. 8. By all means, fight the good fight back, you stupid dickwads.
  19. I think the Aggies have mistaken annoyance and disdain with hatred. The later is an expression, however begrudging, of respect for the competence of a foe that can hurt you. The former is an expression of contempt for a cult that is completely clueless as to its own cult-like nature. When I talk to SEC fans, the question that typically comes up is "what the f**k is wrong with A&M?" They've been in the SEC for little more than a decade, and they've already got the neighbors backing away slowly without making eye contact.
  20. Because heaven knows baseball teams aren't accustomed to playing multiple games within a few days of each other. Whoever heard of such a thing--Stanford should protest.
  21. Well, they did beat LSU, proving in their minds that they would have been SEC West champs if they had only "come together" sooner. So, it's only natural to assume they'll win the West this year since they've, you know, "come together"and will be squeezing that left nut for all it's worth.
