  1. Finale was something. I checked 3 times to make sure that was the last episode of Season 2.
  2. Not a real dragon. The dragons are long dead 100 years before the start of GOT. What md said.
  3. I got a very King Arthur vibe from Dunk and Egg. It’s all about what it truly means to be a knight. Do you have to born a knight or can you become one? Dunk and Eggs travel around the kingdom, have adventures, and compete in tournaments. Spoiler: That’s the entire story. HBO is running pretty low on fat man original material. House of the Dragon is based on a history textbook. After Dunk and Egg, all that’s left is The World of Ice & Fire. Another GOT history textbook. The Blackfyre Rebellions would be an awesome show with no dragons, but more of the same. Targs fighting Targs. It would take a skilled adaption, but there’s also enough Dorne and The North base material for two series.
  4. Tripplehorn is the same age as Jessica Walter (Lucille Bluth) when Arrested Development first aired. She’s a great actress, just not aging super well.
  5. The Watch guys are Heat obsessives, so they’ve been following this very closely. Basically, they think the whole thing hinges on Leo signing up to play Chris.
  6. Dunk and Egg are great novellas. About the right length to read or listen to in a day. I would put them in the same category as A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court. Young adult book with a lot of humor, and lessons taught through parables. No sex. No cursing. I believe the only deaths are in just battles or knight melees. Fuck is used in the trailer, so HBO predictably made it more mature. I could see 3 seasons as there are 3 novellas. 18-24 episodes would stretching the original material pretty thin, but hey it’s GOT we’re talking about here. HBO seems content to drown us in Targaryen lore, but the good news is there’s no dragons in Dunk and Egg so they might actually focus on story rather than CGI effects. Also much cheaper/faster to produce so we could get a season every year. There are more Targaryen stories to tell, some significantly more interesting than Dunk and Egg, so HBO might keep going. I’m praying the next series will be based in The North and focus on House Stark or The Wall.
  7. The way they’re turning teams over, take your time FVV. It’s so early, but you could probably talk me into Amen, Tari, KD, Jabari, and Alpie is our best 5.
  8. You’re a bold man MIA. They’d probably do better individually, but the girls would be jumping on every single person at Kirby if I took them there. Abandoned patio with their leashes tied to table is about their speed.
  9. Davison playing with the 1’s sighting.
  10. The original Kirby Icehouse on Eastside.
  11. Markkanean still in witness protection? Not trading him Is arguably Ainge’s most unhinged move.
  12. I miss the lovable rascal Costner of the 80s and 90s. Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Silverado, Fandango, Dances with Wolves, and Tin Cup. The guy was charismatic, exciting, and had a twinkle of wonder in his eye.
  13. Fucking with his sunglasses on is 100% a Dude homage.
  14. Imagine being on the HPD Dive Team. What did they do in a previous life to deserve this hell?
  15. Westbrook isn’t a winning player. He helped the Nuggets last year because he the only bench player they could play. He’ll take one look at the PG room in Houston, and demand a starting role and heavy minutes.
  16. Pelphrey has been making media rounds lately. He was on the Rich Eisen show today. Rich asked him if Task was a “one and done show”? Pelphrey replied with a not necessarily and there could be a second season. I like the show at 7 episodes. I’m not sure what it could say with another season.
  17. I’m enjoying the show. Great hangout show with a compelling mystery to drive the action. My only note is to cast somebody else instead of Tripplehorn. She’s a great actress, but at her advanced age and weight she’s not catching many flies.
  18. I’d watch the preseason games fellas. We only get 4 in 14+ days.
  19. I don’t want to derail the thread with the rescue v breeder debate. I obviously bought my dogs. I don’t feel a molecule of shame about it. I have the best two dogs on the planet, but I understand the rescue crowd’s perspective. Rescues becoming the cool thing with celebrities and younger folks has undoubtedly saved millions of dogs’ lives. With all this in mind, I volunteered at Montgomery County Animal Shelter today. Many of dogs only get walked once a week. I know we all love and spoil the shit of our dogs, so it’s certainly in our wheelhouses to help out. Just something to think about.
  20. Probably the best day of McTaggart’s life. Breaks a big story while also ruining Astros fans’ day.
  21. Hennessy and Sprite. Really cornering the market.
  22. Okogie is a slightly better version of Tate, so probably Tate. I doubt they’ll cut Uncle Jeff because he’s supposed to be close with KD, but the man is 38 and plays the same position as Tate and Okogie.
