  1. I’m glad it worked out for you buddy. Cali and the Asiatown places are a bitch to get to if you’re just passing through. Roostar might not be the best, but it’s damn good and convenient. Roostar is right by the old school strip of Asian restaurants on Long Point. Terrific Korean food across the street, and the GOAT Thai Racha was over there too. RIP. Thai Racha might have been the best Thai restaurant in the city when I was growing up. Typical Houston. Renovated Church’s Chicken location with a drive thru. It looked like a divey shit hole and only took cash.
  2. The original is for sure better than the second location on Richmond. Lemon pepper wings might be the best in city. I’d skip the boxes, apps, and soups. Curry is fine, but they really shine on banh mi and the wings. The ribeye and pork banh mi are terrific.
  3. Lilith is hot. The horse has been beaten to death. I guess Mel is the closest we’ll get to Maris depicted on film. Tom Hanks calling in some favorA to get Rita cast as Frasier’s date AND mother must have been a fun conversation.
  4. Car alarm guy needs to commit seppuku immediately.
  5. edit: Probably just going to go to Roma and load up on picks. I believe the owner allows you to sample any pick before you buy it. I hope I run into some old Discovery 11.
  6. Longhorn is underrated. Some of the biggest lollipop lamb chops I’ve seen for $26. Rest in Power Longhorn Steakhouse KC 14 year picks.
  7. I have obliterated my bottom shelf. I can get more Sazerac picks, but BT picks will be tricky. Anything more interesting than Early Times and the Benchmark lineup for under $40?
  8. Bloody Boston on Tubi is probably the best documentary I’ve seen on the Irish Mob War of the 1960’s. The first episode focuses on the war and Winter Hill. The second episode of course all Whitey Bulger.
  9. I thought we needed a thread for premieres across all streaming services.
  10. I don’t think they should have tried after David Hyde Pierce said no. The heart of the show is Frasier and Niles bickering, reconciling, and then bickering again. Also, it’s just not the same without John Mahoney.
  11. House of Gucci was recently added. Gaga with brown hair, big ass titties, and fat ass is pretty great.
  12. Walton is the player I’d want to keep out of that group. We’re trying to win championships not Gaskamp Awards.
  13. Other than geology, what’s the biggest obstacle to get the Powder over the top?
  14. I hope UK is a fun trip, low stress/auto win every 4 years. I think people will warm up to Auburn. It’s a classic SEC college town and it’s 100 miles from ATL.
  15. I don’t know what the fix is here. Framber was a surprise. They knew damn well JV and Urquidy wouldn’t be ready and they should have signed a veteran.
  16. I think the travel is better than most think if you can tolerate SWA and rental car companies. piggy - drive or flight to Tulsa aggy - drive LSU - drive Bama - flight to Birmingham Auburn - flight to Atlanta Georgia - flight to Atlanta Florida - flight to Orlando South Carolina - flight to Charlotte Mississippi schools - flight to Memphis Vandy and Tennessee - flight to Nashville Misery - flight to KC or St Louis Kentucky - Louisville or Cincy OU - drive
  17. The Longhorn Steakhouse pick of Knob Creek 9 Year, 100 proof is pretty tasty.
  18. While I’m happy Bobby Burton’s RV Fantasy Conference came to fruition, I wouldn’t recommend driving to games east of Baton Rouge. Fly into Memphis/Nashville or Atlanta and rent a car seems to be the solution for most SEC travel.
  19. Replacing reserves seems to be the every slide deck these days, so I guess the industry is going to start spending money on exploration again. Anybody work PRB? Is it the next big play? My company surprised many of us by replying with a firm no when asked about selling our Powder business unit. I remember Wood Mackenzie was excited about it 2017, but I took another job to work Permian and Delaware.
  20. I’m waiting to find out what the twist is before I jump in. I’m not watching more werewolf bullshit.
  21. The original Roostar is off of 10, north on Gessner. They serve a chopped ribeye banh mi that is terrific. A lot of people like Cali Sandwiches in Midtown, but I’ve watched them microwave my sandwich before. Just a turn off for me. I’ll defer to the board for Asiatown recommendations.
  22. Almost 4 hours into the first 3 Body Problem novel. It’s really terrific. The narrator’s voice and cadence is very similar to Rosalind Chao’s portrayal of Ye Wenjie. It’s working for me.
  23. Most famous actress in Japan from what I’ve heard.
  24. I’d still recommend it if you’re reading the books. It’s a close adaption and helps to visualize events in the books.
