  1. Pretty good investment, no?
  2. *world sports
  3. Remember meeting my first true Texas ABCD. Heavy Texas accent on an Indian dude named Raj always cracked me up.
  4. I still get a kick out of the fact that regardless of age or location, every single brat calls them stairwells, and not apartments.
  5. Ha! Just saw that like 2 min ago and did a doubletake! Plus, he's friends w/ Flavor Flav, who was in the house.
  6. Ha - I go down the googlemaps rabbit hole every now and then. This is the house we lived in for 8th grade in Wiesbaden-Breckenheim. The open window was my room. Gate is new, but everything else is exactly the same - just poking around the town in street view and it's a time warp. Haven't been able to figure out my 9th grade home in Taunustein-Wehen.
  7. Stadium is currently called MHPArena, but was Mercedes-Benz Arena from 08-23. Most locals call it Neckarstadion, in reference to the Neckar River, which is a couple hundred yards to the south/west. MB Museum is circled in yellow.
  8. Literally every country/language does this.
  9. Grew up in Germany from about 6mos to 5yrs and then back for 8th/9th at Gen HH Arnold HS in Wiesbaden, then 10th and 11th at Patch Barracks just outside Stuttgart. My little brother was born at Bad Cannstatt in 77. Older brother was born over there as well, but can't recall where. VfB Stuttgart was pretty solid when I was there (87/88) w/ Klinsmann as the most notable player. They were terrible up until a couple years ago when they got relegated, then promoted, and have been (relatively) pretty good since coming back up.
  10. How does one end up a Mainz fan? Live there? I was at Wiesbaden 85-87.
  11. wtf w/ images disappearing like that? Anyway, here's a killer piece on my buddy Ruben and his brother Robert: AQMB48GHwqyCkvlU4_BID8yuXEQz8cW2y-zfAcsFprLno0TK2k5LpRhsKcO_yRXF50X3ID3auXEuEmepEPTCvsdx.mp4
  12. Obviously caught fire, but it probably helps when the GM drafts a perfect fit for the offense. He's a 24yo rookie who spent 5 years in college, and he's been crushing in Maine w/ 20.4ppg shooting 10 3s a game. Gotta say, it was hella impressive - it's not like he was in the whole game and getting buckets here and there. Starting at the end of the 3rd, he just went on a tear. Hit a buzzer beater to end the 3rd....but Mazzula called a TO, so he went right back out and hit another buzzer beater. After that, it was on. My favorite was the heat check chuck he takes at 1:30 in this vid - first out on the break, no Celtics inside the arc, fires from 28' and gets the friendly bounce. In those ~11min he went 6/6 (5/5 from 3) w/ 2 boards and a steal.
  13. No Tatum, no Brown, the Celtics look to the end of the bench in the 4th vs the Nets…
  14. Saw that a couple of days ago. Ferry is an ELITE hatin' ass hater.
  15. Buddy I did the Thanksgiving run through CO w/ is at Alyeska right now. Yesterday's pics looked less than ideal, but today looks great!
  16. Coolest part was seeing 7 different constructors in the 1st 8 spots at the end. I know there was chaos, and not entirely indicative of future results, but that points to a fun season.
  17. Fucking hell. Up 3-1 at home vs Leverkusen, and should have been 4-1. Own goal to equalize at 88’ and Leverkusen scores a beauty to win at 94’. 🤮🤮🤮

  19. Not sure it's singular ref specific.
  20. This is brutal
  21. I'm ready for the day this really hits for me. One of the biggest motivators for me to shed some lbs is that I really ONLY gain wait in my belly - straight ahead, nothing really on the sides. A true beer belly, if you will. If you look at me straight ahead (w/ a shirt on), you wouldn't understand why I'm upset w/ my weight...90 degree turn and you really see it. That makes putting my socks and shoes on an absolute bitch - like takes the breath out of me...wtf? I honestly don't know how truly fat people exist, because how the fuck do you do ANYTHING?
  22. About 6 weeks in and I've held strong! No beer, bread or ice cream (my evil trinity of fattyfatass) and 99% of what I've eaten is clean/homemade. This past week was the 1st time I've really had cravings for carbs or comfort foods, but I'm also down roughly 20# so I'm pretty pleased about that! My 1% processed food = vegan buffalo chicken nuggets and Chik-Fil-A Polynesian sauce. Sometimes you come home late and need something you don't have to "make". Breakfast is either strawberries/raspberries w/ greek yogurt and honey or oatmeal w/ bananas and "scrambled" eggs. Lunch is mostly a green salad - green leaf lettuce, carrot, celery, red bell pepper, cucumber, spring onion, cherry tomatoes. Sometimes topped w/ leftover grilled chicken or salmon, but mostly just greens. Once a week lunch treat is poke bowl, but I've switched from rice base to salad base, and dropped a protein. Recently discovered the delicious Flower Child Mediterranean chicken bowl, but $18+ is a steep for the amount you get. Oddly, I don't think I've ordered a salad from Cava this entire time and that's one of the best values out there imo. Dinner is usually just a protein and veggie - usually chicken/pork/steak/salmon w/ roasted cauli/steamed broccoli/roasted sweet potato. Some others: Turkey jalapeno sausage/riced cauliflower/spinach bowl; ground turkey/kale/white bean soup (make a giant batch and eat for 2 weeks); squash/zucchini/red bell pepper over cous cous. Snacks are Granny Smith apples, tuna salad, homemade hummus and carrots, cottage cheese, lazy man's deviled egg (example: here) is my late night snack pretty much every night. The biggest drawback is ALWAYS FUCKING CUTTING OR CLEANING. Goddamn sometimes I just want to open a bag of something and eat w/o making or cleaning or order a pizza out of laziness.
