  1. I think best case scenario is QE to come back and Arch takes all the 2nd team reps all next year. That gives us the best chance next year but also get Arch some important development. Of course MM might have a say in that but if the coaches think Arch is the future, he needs to get all those 2nd reps. Also, lol at thinking Quinn "is who he is" at this point. He's a sophomore. QBs get better well into their pro years. QE has been much better this year and I'd expect continued improvement next year.
  2. It was interesting that Catalon came into the game in 4Q yesterday. I didn't see him during the first 3 quarters. So I guess he's healthy enough to play but they're just not confident in him? Surprising
  3. This is where I'm glad I'm not a ref. Idk man
  4. I mean that doesn't mean Blue is a good teammate / locker room guy. Maybe he is now, I have no clue, just saying it's not necessarily the same thing. Speaking of which, if Brooks comes back I wonder if Blue sticks around..
  5. Does this game matter for our playoff chances? Could the committee possible put the loser ahead of us assuming we win next week? Let's not pick on other teams for their QB's long-ball accuracy lol
  6. Credit to Looch for calling a spade a spade regarding Ryan Day (and sorta with Deboer). Straight up saying the Day rumors are ridiculous and Day hasn't actually shown interest
  7. Hmm so P5 coach that supposedly isn't Elko, Fisch, Kiffin, or Lanning. I think Looch also said they'd have to wait for Deboer if he was interested and same for Day. I think he also said Rhule was unlikely. So who does that leave? My top guess would be Leipold. Others that have been mentioned a decent amount include Klieman, Dykes, and Jonathan Smith. I'm assuming the Lincoln stuff was dumb noise. I also wouldn't rule out 247 being wrong about Elko.
  8. It restores a little faith in humanity that at least some Aggie boosters have the moral strength to draw the line somewhere
  9. Lincoln does seem like he'd fit better in the NFL than college tbh. Hates recruiting and having more mature/professional players may help alleviate his issues with team toughness/discipline. And yeah, Chargers with those weapons would be a good fit for him. Could easily open up this offseason too.
  10. Out West could mean Deboer, Jonathan Smith, Fisch, or I guess Lincoln. Deboer leaving still doesn't make sense on the surface but who knows. Smith is in an interesting spot. OSU is his alma mater but they're getting left behind in the conference stuff. He's also born in Pasadena, CA and UCLA is supposedly opening up. Tough choice if he has to make one. Fisch would probably jump if offered. Lincoln is supposedly making $11mm/year at USC over 10 years (no idea how much guaranteed). Even if you take off 10% for state taxes, that's a major contract for ATM. I don't see it. Not "Out West" but Rhule has a 8 year $9mm/year, 90% guaranteed contract, plus incentives. Recruiting to Nebraska must be impossible so maybe he'd consider leaving, but seems unlikely imo.
  11. It is quite funny to see the lack of self-awareness from Aggies bragging that money isn't an issue even after Jimbo's buyout. Do they not realize that it should be an issue? Tons of schools could theoretically pay $20m to a football coach but no one else is dumb/childish enough to do so. I mean, shit, Stanford could dominate everyone financially if they gave a crap, but guess what, they'd rather fund computer science buildings and stuff that is actually productive to society.
  12. Seems about right. I think Rhule is pretty solid too. Sounds like Lanning and Kiffin are out. If ATM pays for any of those guys on top of Jimbo's buyout though, it will be truly embarrassing. It'd be like $20mm/year in current/former football head coach salary. For a "school"
  13. Pretty sure Sark was hired within a day of Herman being fired so I don't think that job posting time matters
  14. Gotcha. But how much are they making in their current PAC deal? I assume less than $30. And they know that number is jumping to $50+ in the future. edit: think I fuond the answer - they get $37mm total from the PAC-12 (TV and other stuff) and expect $45mm in year 1 of the Big 10. Then $62mm in a couple years. Big Ten: $62 million for Oregon and Washington if they join Big Ten? Analyzing the current conference distribution value in Pac 4 (sportskeeda.com)
  15. Is South Dakota Midwest lol? But yeah exactly my point - everything on there is Midwest or Northwest
  16. I think Deboer is from the midwest too. He might even like being in the Big 10. True for NIL but can't the extra money from the Big 10 TV deal easily pay for a big raise in his salary? Doesn't seem like you even need donors.
  17. You're assuming UW won't offer him a raise, which is definitely not true. ATM doesn't have to just beat his current salary, they have to beat whatever extension UW offers, plus pay a $12mm buyout. UW is also about to get that Big 10 TV money next year which could fund a new salary easily. Looking at other factors - ATM has a better recruiting base in TX and more NIL cash. But UW is objectively a more successful program with plenty of NIL potential in Seattle. Plus he'd be starting over with always brings risk. And personally, Deboer has always lived/worked in the Northwest/Midwest. His daughter is also committed to play softball at UW. So moving to College Station probably isn't too appealing. Now, I'm not saying there's a 0% chance, but it doesn't seem likely to me.
  18. Looch said on Twitter that Lanning is not happening. Lanning also very explicitly said it is not happening (unlike a lot of the deflections you hear from others). Also - would ATM boosters really fly up there (on a 737 no less) before Jimbo was announced, right before ATM's game Saturday, and right before Oregon's game vs USC? Btw - that might be where Oregon St flies out of too
  19. You talking about the original 9.95er stories or the Pete Thamel tweet that pumped the breaks?
  20. Has DeBoer shot it down or been ruled out? Haven't seen that. Although I have always thought he's a major longshot for multiple reasons.
  21. Quinn has a tough decision to make. On one hand, 2nd round picks still make a lot of money and theoretically he'd get to free agency sooner. And there is some risk in coming back. On the other hand, he should improve his draft stock if he comes back, at least on paper. He's only really had 2 years of college experience and that third typically makes a big difference. It's also interesting bc he originally thought he'd be eligible for the 2025 draft (before the last-second reclassification), so in a way it would just be back to the original plan. Plus, he wouldn't exactly be starving here at UT.
  22. Idk what to believe. I really didn't think QE would be back until these reports started coming out this week. But now the Ewers fam mouthpiece is throwing water on them. Probably will come down to NIL I guess
  23. I still think it'll be Elko. Makes sense for both sides. Imo jury is still out on him as a HC but he could be a good hire and would definitely be more affordable than other options. I still don't see why Lanning would leave and how ATM could afford him after the Jimbo buyout. Really surprised to see Kiffin #1 on those odds. He's already at $9mm/year which would be tough for ATM to afford. Plus Kiffin has been openly making fun of ATM non-stop the last two years. He even got caught calling Bryce Anderson a pussy during last year's game. Schumann and Traylor would likely take the job.
